Lifting the half empty glass from the counter top with his finger tips, he swirls what’s left before tilting his head back to finish it off, setting the now empty glass down in front of him. “A healthy mixture of both, maybe?” He admits, a grin forming as he promptly motions to the bartender for a refill.
Image
“Well... I can’t immediately say it is reassuring that you partly drink because things are going bad.” He grinned and motioned to the barkeeper to bring him something as well. In those few weeks he had been in town, he had been here often enough that the man didn’t even need to ask what he wanted to drink. “Things are not going according to plan here in town? Does that Halloween party have something to do with that? Because I had fun. I think...”

“I am—!” He points towards Richard, grinning in a cheeky matter. “I am in fact a teacher. I have been for a while, now,” he says with a smile. This was a true statement for the most part. Teaching was his latest venture, and in a few years he would be glad to tackle something new for the next decade. “They can irritate me as much as they want, it just drives me to give the same in return.”
Image
It still seemed like a strange way of acting. Work with those you hate, only to annoy them back. “But wouldn’t it be much easier to just annoy the irritation in the first place and do something you actually enjoy doing?” That was what he was doing with his life. This guy in front of him... that was an example he had to show people who thought he should do more with his life than he did now. “Making their life miserable can’t be worth throwing yours away?”

Even when he told her not to be scared it didn’t cause her to ease. She found herself on edge around the stranger even if he words were suppose to comfort her. Looking him over she still didn’t know what to stay to him or if he was really concerned about her or not.
“I think so. I think I am okay.” Or at least she tried to feel okay. “Are you okay?”
Image
He frowned, finding her way of acting kind of weird. Then again, a lot of people had said that about him as well, so maybe he shouldn’t just. “You think that or you’re sure of that? There’s a bench over there, you know...”, he pointed out. “That’s probably a bit more comfortable than you sitting here on the ground. It’s getting cold.” Then he grinned. “O, I’m fine, honey, don’t worry about me.” At least, that’s what he pretended to be. As long as he wasn’t with his mother, he tried to forget about why he was here in the first place.

Raising her eyebrows at the other she let out a small hum as her eyes scanned his body over. He seemed delightful and she was interested further into the other male. “I am uncertain how Elijah would react to that offer. I will offer it to him.” She said with a smile to the other. “I would be interested to see your… performance.”
Image
“Well, if he’s not interested, I guess he’s too boring for you.”, he winked. “I mean, there’s nothing wrong with stepping out of your normal life and try something exciting, isn’t there?” Then he had to laugh. “O, I can assure you, honey. There has never been anyone who had something to complain about my performance. If you want to witness it, you just need to say the word”

He was looking at his phone, more precisely at a number of selfies on there -unfortunately he couldn’t recall all of them...-, when it was suddenly snatched out of his hands. “Hey!” He was starting to get a bit angry. “I was still figuring out when I made those and who those women are. Don’t take that pleasure away from me, ok?”

“I’m not saying I hate kids or anything, but…” Gabriel’s voice trails off, as he looks away for a beat. “I do. Especially the teenage ones, nowadays. I just…” at this point, he lets out an annoyed huff, but still put on the smallest of smiles.

“Weren’t you a teacher?”, Richard frowned, finding that statement kind of hard to understand. “I’m not saying I’m a big fan of kids, but at least I try my best to stay out of their way. Working with them seems kind of weird... unless your into self torture, that is.”

Once again with the recent occurrences, Ben truly found himself at a loss. For the most part, a lot of that Halloween festival was a blur, as it seemed it was for most. With that, and every other problem that seemed to arise in Aurora seemingly every other second, not only was he growing more frustrated, but completely restless. Not being able to give any answers or even come up with any was becoming an old charade at this point.
It was late in the night at this point, and Ben had found himself at Soif, a place he frequented in his early twenties–and a little more than he’d like to admit, lately. His jacket was draped over the back of his seat as he sat with his elbows atop the bar, staring forward at nothing in particular.
It wasn’t until he felt a presence beside him that he shot up, looking over and giving the person a light smile and a nod of his head, saying hello

“Well, hello...” He hadn’t met the man who was already sitting at the bar yet, but he had seen his face on photos. Apparently one thing had changed in Aurora since he left. He had no idea who had been mayor then -he had never had much interest in politics-, but that was sure as hell not this guy. “Things are going bad in town, that the mayor is trying to get drunk? Or are you just having a healthy drink after work?”

There was something interesting about him that she couldn’t put her finger on. Leaning against the wall as she thought about the different response she could come up with the girl hummed before answering. “It has to be tasteful otherwise my husband might not be so happy otherwise.” She said with a smirk still hesitating to take the flask.
Image
“Tasteful?”, he grinned. “Why does it always have to be tasteful?” He fell from heaven to indulge in everything he though life could offer, not just the standaard options. “Maybe we can simply involve your husband?”, he suggested, not at all taken back by the fact that she had one.

Smiling, Bennett opened his mouth to add on to what he had said. Just as he did so, a blank expression goes over his face, listening to every word the other had to say. Up until when he couldn’t. “You kind of make it sound like you’re somewhere along the lines of inhuman. Strange…
Image
He nodded. “Because I am...” He grinned, stretching his back to make his wings more prominent. “Or do you think humans had wings like these?” The he shrugged. “Heaven was just too boring. I thought it was more interesting to see what havoc there is to wreak on earth.”

Marcus gave a shrug, really not having a clue as to what he had been alluding to in the first place. What could go wrong that hasn’t already? Though, what the man had to say next made Marcus nearly choke, looking to the other with widened eyes. “I… well…?” He was never one for disagreeing with anyone, so it was a bit frustrating to get this out. “I mean, I guess so? I just think it would be nice if this went well. It’s tradition.”
Image
He chuckled. “Traditions are boring... come on, you never want to shake things up a bit? Do everything you’re not supposed to do?” He cocked his head and looked intensely at the guy. He seemed like a do gooder. Which would make it all the more fun to convince him to come to the bad side. “You must have some desires that are so dark that you’re afraid to admit them out loud?”

She was up for anything, she was a criminal in some way the only thing is, she never was one to get caught. This wasn’t her first rodeo. “You say that as if it’s suppose to surprise me.”  She could rob a bank, or pick pocket what these people here had that was worth anything. “You’re right, this is a party. “ she smirked looking at him. The more people would drink, the more compliant they will be.
Image
He nodded. “I wasn’t aware on how much you’d know about it. I just wanted to warn you for them. You don’t have preternatural senses like I do, so I thought I’d be of service.” It did sound like something he would do though. Not because of the money or whatever it was that she would get there. But just because of the fact that it was forbidden. Everything forbidden had its appeal, especially to him. “And what do you want to say with that? Is there something special about it being a party?”

She didn’t know how or when but something didn’t feel quite right and before she could even think to act on her instincts, whatever had happened come to have passed, as now she felt a bit more laid back. Looking over at the male, she saw the wings and wondered what it would be like to pluck it from him, “A bank is an easy target.” she stated with a smile, if she was going to rob a place, it had to be filled with something that shined well.
Image
He nodded, his wings suddenly not feeling awkward anymore. They felt like a part of him, like something that had always belonged to him. “Is it?”, he frowned. “For someone like me, maybe, but for humans... they will have these... security measures, I think they’re called? You’re up for those?” Not that he needed something so mundane as money, so he wouldn’t exert himself to actually rob a bank, but he was curious about the woman in front of him. “But why bother yourself with something like that on this night? Isn’t this some kind of party? More reason for drinks and celebration than going through all the trouble of robbing a bank?”

“Just don’t go stumbling around here, don’t want to trouble the kids.” he stated with a smile. Even if he was in costume, he was still a detective, keeping the area safe and secure. “You just have to know the right places, plus these kids, they get excited over anything.”
Image
He sighed. “And why wouldn’t we want to trouble the kids? It’s... Halloween, isn’t it? Aren’t they supposed to get scared?” He had dropped from heaven for a reason, not to do everything as he was supposed to do them... Then he rolled his eyes. “These little brats are boring, getting excited so soon. Just wait until they grow up and discover the more dark parts of this earth... it’s only then that they might become slightly interesting.”

There was no better way to know the residents of the town than a party. Watching the children was one of her favorite parts. Kids weren’t something her and Elijah had spoken about before mainly because it was something they couldn’t have. The wings caught her attention only for the flask quickly peak her attention. “Do you plan on sharing?” She asked curiously.
Image
He grinned at the question of the young lady that suddenly appeared next to her. Well, she was a reason to fall from heaven and refuse to come back after landing on this earth, he had to say. “I’m usually very generous, honey...”, he answered, holding out the flask to her. “But everything comes with a price... what are you willing to offer in return?”

Standing beside the man, taking a slow look around, Marcus lightly nods his head in agreement. It was comforting to see that things were pretty much the same in Aurora. It could take you all the way back to when you were these kids’ age–it was almost like looking in a mirror, in some ways. “It’s nice to see things going as planned for them. It would kind of suck to see anything go wrong.”
Image
“Go wrong in what way?” Richard didn’t even know he had lost part of himself. He simply had become something else, something that didn’t have the memory of playing the games those kids played. Boring games, actually. Not something a fallen angel would occupy himself with. He had fallen for a reason and that wasn’t because he wanted to follow the rules, do what he was told. “There’s nothing more fun than a bit of disturbance, isn’t there? If all would go according to plan, the world would be awfully boring.”

“Yeah,” the man replies just under his breath, watching all the kids play together and thinking back to when him and his siblings were doing just the same. And as soon as he could, he clears his throat, snapping out of his trance. “It almost makes you want to jump back in there and do it all over again. But that would be a little weird if we actually did that, you know?” He attempts to joke, letting out a slight laugh. “Thankfully, there are still fun things to do here, for adults instead of just watching the little ones have the time of their lives.”
Image
Richard felt a breeze that raised the hairs on his arms. Something seemed to change, without him even noticing it. “Do it all over again? That makes it sound like we occupied ourselves with something as mundane as carving up pumpkins? No, thank you... I rather watched while humans exercised their weird activities.” He grinned, looking at the flask in his hand and and frowning. “Although not all human activities are that bad.”, he grinned while he took another sip. He nodded. “I’m planning to examine those adult activities to the fullest, yes.”

Juliet moved around until she almost bumped into Richard. Part of her felt like making just turning the other way until he heard him speak. Did he notice her? Or was he just speaking out loud? “I wasn’t aware you used to do these things.” She said as she moved around to be slightly in front of him. “Did you grow up in this town?”
Image
He chuckled when he recognized Juliet from the night they spent together. “When I was about their age, yes, I did...” He was dragged here every year by his parents. It was part of living and growing up in this town and back then, without knowing any better, he had actually enjoyed it. “I grew up here, left for college and made sure never to come back until now...”
