Why I’ve Been Absent

Hello everyone, yes I’m alive; I’m sorry I’ve been gone off the face of the planet: allow me to explain:

I was in cryosleep for 600 years on a  trip to Andromeda with my space husband Gil

I started ryding-gil as an initiative for me to make a presence for myself online, my main art blog really didn’t garner a lot of attention (shocker) unless it was fan art; I jumped on the FNaF bandwagon and got some notes, but if it was original art it didn’t pick up any traction. So I made this tumblr to put myself out there with no fear for what I created and just make something happen. To my surprise a lot of you really liked my work and in a way I made a name for myself amongst the GilxRyder community. And I can’t begin to say how happy it made me. There’s something to be said about having people just respond to your work as oppose to uploading into the void.

But as time passed with Andromeda’s uncertain future content and my struggle to come up with new art pieces of Gil I kinda dropped off the grid. In that time I’ve been able to redefine my style and develop my skills as I’ve worked on new projects. I still miss this blog and want this to serve an equally satisfying role in my fan-girl life ;) so I guess I’ll pitch an idea and y’all let me know how you feel about this:

I’m gonna post more artwork on my main tumblr, since I really want to establish myself online. HOWEVER, I’m thinking of posting the nicer Gil pieces I make on there and then just reblog it onto ryding-gil. Then for this tumblr I’ll just have more fun with it and reblog stuff while having a more “vocal” presence with some witty commentary and supporting other art on here. Should there ever be a more goofy orientated Gil art piece I’ll of course post it to here but can’t promise a ton of them as I did in the beginning.

Does that all make sense? I’m making this more of a spectacle than it needs to be but I felt bad for dropping off completely. I think that covers it and my next post is gonna cover a topic very important and Gil orientated....

I am so pleased to announce my first collaborative project and first Zine project, The first ever Gilder Fan Zine benefiting Child’s Play, a charity that donates gaming systems to sick children who might be stuck in the hospital this holiday season. I’m hoping to raise at least 150$ but hopefully more.

The Fan Zine is set to release sometime around November 2017 and set to have a winter theme! Currently we are accepting submissions for the Zine which will have about 3 pages front and back including the cover and back. 

I am so excited and humbled that so many of you wonderful people here on tumblr have already shown a lot of enthusiasm for the project. As I go through everyone’s submissions and begin gathering content I’ll be announcing the people who will be joining the project as contributors as both writers and artists so stay tuned!

I think we should make a Gilder Zine for Child’s Play or something to spread the love. Is that something people would want? Would people be interested in joining or getting it? I don’t know too many gilder blogs but I know
