“I could go down to the village and see if I can get some piece of Metal to repair it.”
The shapeshifter offers, it was the only thing they could do right now. There was no one else around to repair the broken pipe. But at least Genji could repair it with another piece and some fire. He just needed to make sure no one was looking, it would surely distress Zenyatta and the other monks if they found out he could spit fire.
Genji sighs happily when his master returns once more , this time with something to patch up the hole he made but..he doesn't use it. Neither does he say something. And the confusion clearly shows on Genji’s face.
“…Master?”
His voice is laced with confusion , head tilted and green eyes looking at him.

Zenyatta is patient. He knows that sometimes, the biggest changes are not the most visible. For a wound to close, most of the work has to be done first on the inside.

Except this is a pipe, and no matter how long he waits, his orb of harmony doesn’t seem to have any kind of effect on the breach whatsoever. That’s too bad. At least he’s tried, he figures, and this might give him some insight on the essence of omnic life. He’ll have to meditate on that in the near future.  He removes his orb, and works on closing the breach with his piece of cloth.

“You might find enough metal if you go now, but you are no blacksmith. Will you know how to repair it ? “

Genji turns his head around, brows furrowed together and lips shyly curled upwards.

He had been too quick to act, something the young Shimada still hadn’t learned after all those years. But the dragon should have considered the noise only coming from a pipe, not from an intruder that could harm him. But the worry of Zenyatta getting hurt had made him act too rush.

And now he only made the damage worse, not moving a single inch as the omnic said his words.

“I am sorry, master- “

The green haired shapeshifter instantly says , green eyes moving back to the current problem.

“Maybe we could use a piece of clothing?”

As long as Genji stands still, there should be no problem.

“You would make a fine ornament. You should consider staying here more often,“ he teases, still finding this debacle quite humorous. But Zenyatta’s tone quickly returns to serious. “Cloth will have to do for the moment, but I am afraid we will still have to find something more sustainable for the days to come. Until it can be properly repaired. I will be back shortly. “

Having said that, Zenyatta does return to the room. Surely, there must be something he can use. He would need something like rubber, ideally, but the breach being quite sizeable, he doubts he’d be able to find a piece large enough. But then he wonders...  Zenyatta returns with the fabric mat he was sitting on earlier, but doesn’t use it just yet. Instead, he lays it on the floor, and considers

For the sake of discovery, he places an orb of harmony right next to the breach.

Genji doesn’t moves or makes any sound when the omnic extends his hand, only listening alarmed as metal hits the stone.

The dragon is worried, not about his wellbeing but Zenyattas. He doesn’t know how well the other can fight , if he even can that is.

“I don’t think its a good idea - please let me.”

His voice shows the hint of worry , and before his master can protest the young Shimada is already on his way. Genji doesn’t make a sound as he quickly makes his way to the source of the sound , the only sound the dragon makes is as he pulls out his blade slowly. Prepared for a fight.

Green eyes look skeptically at the jar , it’s not broken at least. But that doesn't solve the problem.

Another sound draws the dragon’s attention , he can’t identify it entirely - but it sounds concerning.

He takes a second to brace himself , sword ready in his hand and with lips pressed together he charges around the corner.

But his sword doesn’t cuts trough skin , it cuts trough metal and..is that a pipe?

Genji as always been quick, as far as Zenyatta had known him. He had no time to respond before he was left alone in the room, and now he can only hear complete silence and a blade being unsheathed. No sign of an opponent. Not yet. It seems his student is being precautious.

Another rumbling, and this time Zenyatta’s memory wakes up.

When the Shambali decided to restore the monastery, they had little to no use for piping. Omnics tolerate the cold, and most of the time, do not require water to survive.  When humans decided to join them, however, this became a rather urgent necessity, which was placated by quickly putting back to order the ancient installations. Ones that hadn’t been exactly checked on ever since.

“Genji,” he calls, “I think I understand - “ Zenyatta’s voice is cut by metal on metal and he rushes - hovers - to the door to check on him.  When he sees, he knows he was just a bit too late, and he immediately knows there is going to be some problematic leakage in this corridor.  “Oh. Do not move. Please stay still. I’m not sure we have anything to clog this. “

Her Biotic Rifle moved with the Orca’s mild turbulences, and the sniper resorted to laying it across her lap - hand never far from the trigger, out of habit, like an extension of her own arm. Battles to come were never far off her mind, and over the years, she had learnt to be ready at all times; a state of mind that did not come without a price. For one moment, upon hearing the Omnic’s words, Ana wondered if Zenyatta shared this burden, or if he had found ways even around this particular issue as well.
“Hmm.” Gaze drifted to look outside for a brief moment, but soon enough she focused on Zenyatta again. “I’m afraid my motives are slightly less noble than yours. I’m merely here to help an old friend and ensure I can protect at least a few of the people I care about.” She was done with heroism. It had been a few years already since she had accepted it. A hero she was no more - merely a ghost of the vengeful kind.
But that did not mean she could not admire those who now fought for the values she didn’t have to strength to defend anymore. “But I am grateful that Overwatch can rely on someone like you. This organisation needs balance in order to perform its duty. I have seen what the younger recruits are capable of, but I have also seen how easily the most solid of resolutions can be shattered to pieces.”

He bows his head slowly again, the easiest way to communicate consideration with immovable facial features, he finds. “I am afraid I will not be the provider of their balance. I can only act as a catalyst if there is something to work with - and I do feel there is. “

Unexpectedly, Zenyatta finds their stand points comparable. The both of them can be seen as exterior attachments to Overwatch - as it is today -, and although they have a different set of ideals, their reasonings sound strikingly alike. No matter what, they both ended up under the same flag as of this day, and this in itself is interesting enough.

“Similarly, you might be an extension of their goals by lending a hand in their completion. I presume you would not be here on this day if your friend and yourself were not in agreement ? “
