Fan fiction for @saeranchoiweek Day 7, Prompt: Weddings (Sorry it's late, thanks for running this & to everyone who liked & contributed!)

XXX

"Once I ran to you, now I run from you..."

"May the bride and groom enter the dancefloor for their first dance?"

MC smiled as she and Saeran met right in the middle of the dancefloor. She wrapped her arms around his neck and held him close as their favourite song played.

All I Ask of You from Phantom of The Opera.

"Love me, that's all I ask of you," MC sang softly into her new husband's ear.

She sighed in frustration as she felt his body tense, then he pushed her out of his arms and fled. She was getting a bit tired of him literally running from her whenever he felt insecure. She tried to be as patient and understanding as possible, she knew about his past and she loved him. But everyone was gawking at her now in pity. She gathered her dress up and followed him, walking fast instead of running as she usually would. She couldn't run in the shoes and she needed the extra few seconds to calm herself down.

She found him sitting at the bottom of a staircase, and sat beside him quietly. His breathing was heavy with anxiety at first, but slowly levelled out as she sat there silently. She had found the best way to reassure him was to just be with him, until he was ready to talk.

"I'm sorry I ran again. It's just - I had a flashback to a family wedding from my childhood. I don't know why Mother even brought me but she was drunk as usual and everyone avoided me because I was her child. Saeyoung had already left and I felt so alone. Everyone else was happy and social, and I was just there," He stopped talking and glanced at MC. "You wouldn't understand."

"You're wrong actually. I never fit in with my family, I was always too quiet for them. And too weird. If you weren't here, I'd also be feeling alone. Today was perfect and you're the perfect husband, but I feel nothing. Why don't I feel anything?"

"I don't either."

He placed his hand on MC's and she felt electricity. She looked into his eyes and her heart felt warm.

"My therapist would say we're blocking out all emotions in case we feel any bad ones. Otherwise we'd feel too anxious today."

She nodded, "I love you, Saeran."

He lowered his head for a moment before replying softly.

"You always call me Saeran. Who am I, MC?"

His soft voice and pleading eyes.

"Ray," She replied just as softly.

"Is it because you love Saeran more?" He asked, his voice cracking.

"No, I love all of you just as much. So much. It's just because Saeran is your legal name, it's easier. I could always call you Unknown if you prefer? Hey everyone, this is my husband, Unknown."

They both laughed and he leaned his shoulder closer to hers.

"I love you Ray, I love you Unknown, I love you Saeran, I love you other Saeran, I love you tomato Saeran."

"Stop," He begged. "I can't breathe!"

He was laughing so hard and it was contagious. She wrapped her arms around him and they laughed together. Everything was right again.

The door from the wedding reception burst open and a wild Saeyoung appeared.

"Oh hey, there you are. Are you two OK?"

"We're fine," Saeran replied. "But Saeyoung, why do you have a handbag?"

"I borrowed it from Jaehee. I was hoping to try on the bride's dress later," He beamed at MC who rolled her eyes but smiled, realising she should have guessed he'd ask.

"Sure," She told him.

"OK but why is the handbag moving?" Saeran asked.

The door burst open again and Jumin appeared.

"Saeyoung Choi, you cat abuser, hand my Elizabeth the 3rd over right NOW!"

Saeyoung ran, followed by Jumin.

"Wow, you Chois really know how to run," MC commented and they both laughed again. "Your family really is a liability. I mean, your family is Saeyoung! We love him though."

"Yes," Saeran agreed quietly. He turned to MC and held his hand out. "May we continue our dance?"

"I'd love to."

6th Day - Afterendings || AU   Still kinda both

Ah, sorry I’m late! Was kinda sick yesterday, but I’m here now! This is the second and final chapter of the Saeran week fic I did last year! Tags are on A03, but this chapter should be free of triggers. It does smell strongly of citrus, if you know what I mean >w>

Saeran Choi Week officially ends!

I’d like to sincerely thank everyone who participated in the week - either by creating or supporting the creators! I honestly didn’t expect this year’s week to be this successful, so thank you a lot!

Of course, I’ll still be reblogging works that haven’t been reblogged or even posted yet, but I’ll need your help with that. Tumblr’s tagging system is troublesome, so I may miss some works; I’d be really thankful if you shot me a message with what you’d like me to reblog. Please, include links to the specific posts.

I’ll be reblogging the works till the end of August, but feel free to (at any point) send me your zine/weeks/project announcements info for me to reblog, just as I’ve been doing in the past year!

Unfortunately, I don’t plan on handling this week in 2k20. My interest in MM burned out long time ago. But if I find someone to take over the blog - who knows! Maybe the week will be held in the next year as well!

SaeranWeek2019 Day 7

7th Day - Weddings || Happiness

Finally the last day! I’m glad I got to do at least a drabble for each of the days this year and I loved seeing everyone else’s work! Hope to see you all next year~

Saeran used to think he knew what it meant to be happy. His time spent at Mint Eye performing tasks for the woman who had taken him from his derelict home seemed wonderful in comparison to the Hell he’d occupied for most of his life. Then again, comparing a pile of shit to a slightly smaller pile of shit encrusted with diamonds is also unfair. He had gone from being an abused means to an end to a pawn abused in new ways and fed new lies. He had been used by a psychopath all his life and didn’t know any other way to be. Now that he had experienced what else life could offer, he knew that he possessed true happiness for the first time.

The movie playing on the large screen showed the protagonist spouting some terrible line to his intended love interest, causing the redhead on the other end of the couch to snort. Glancing sideways, Saeran regarded his twin. He had long since made up with his brother, though some days were still difficult between them. It would take time for total forgiveness to develop, as his therapist often reminded him, but he was genuinely happy to have his only family back. Much of his time had been spent attempting to catch up on the things he and his twin had missed out on as children and rebuilding the bond they shared that had long since been corrupted. Saeran couldn’t say he minded and was discovering who he really was along the way. He and Saeyoung needed each other, both to heal and to move forward.

The form against his arm shifted, a soft mumble escaping it. Saeran had to suppress a chuckle lest he wake his girlfriend up. He told her she would regret staying up so late to finish her project in one go, but she was often exactly as stubborn as he was. The fact that they were even together at all still blew his mind; he couldn’t fathom how someone so smart and caring and all around wonderful actually wanted to spend their time with him, yet alone love him the way she did. She had been the leading factor in his recovery. She gave him a sense of worth not derived from what he could do for her, but from what he did with himself. She wanted him to be happy in ways that didn’t cause him pain, ways that meant he got enough to eat and slept human hours, ways that benefited her in no direct way. The only thing she had to gain was spending time with him as a person instead of a drug-fueled drone. And she wanted that. She made him want that

Happiness wasn’t slaving away at a task so single-mindedly that he neglected his own wellbeing. It wasn’t marching mindlessly towards the promise of paradise from someone who treated him like a subhuman creature. It wasn’t long nights at a computer, working his fingers raw. Happiness was what he made of it, and right now, he was happy.

Last prompt for the week! I had so much fun this week with all the fanfic and art everyone posted. This is definitely one of my favorites that I’ve posted this week even if its a bit sketchy/messy!

Day 7: Weddings

Unknown found himself in the atrium of a cathedral, entirely unsure as to why he was there. He glanced around trying to figure out what the joke was, and was suddenly grabbed by the arm by a man in a suit.

"That's your cue!" The man hissed as he dragged Unknown to the entrance and shoving him through.

It was a wedding, the bride waiting for her groom at the end of the aisle. Her veil concealed her face, but something told him she was waiting for him. He found himself walking forward, past the faceless people in the audience and past the flowers arrangements that his mind belated registered as forget-me-nots and blue roses. All he could focus on was her.

He came to her side, and unable to stop himself, lifted her veil. It was the pawn, no, MC. It was his bride.

"Aren't you supposed to be the one walking down the aisle?" He asked her.

"If you got here on time, maybe." She teased him, eyes bright and face sweet. It was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen.

"We are gathered here today, to join these two in holy matrimony." And suddenly there was a priest standing next to them. Unknown blinked in surprise, but hands holding his squeezed excitedly, and he gently smiled back.

He's pretty sure he missed something, because there's suddenly a ring being handed to him. Wasn't there more before this part? But it didn't matter as she began to slip the ring on his finger.

"Do you, MC, take-" Everything froze. All the noises from the venue just. Stopped. Unknown looked at the priest in confusion, only to see him frozen in place as well. He looked at her, and her she was staring at him in confusion.

"MC? What's wrong?" He asked, trying to figure out what was happening.

"I don't know your name." She said, dropping his hands suddenly. "How can I marry someone whose name I don't even know?"

"What?" Unknown managed to get out, but she began walking away without saying another word. He reached out to her. "Wait!"

He made it halfway down the aisle when he realized the the people were watching him. They were literally faceless he realized, but he could tell that they were watching him.

"Stop staring at me!" He yelled, and in one synchronized movement, the entire crowd snapped back toward the front.

She was already at the door, and he ran, trying one last time. "Wait! It's Sae-!"

And then he was awake, cold light from the monitors flickering across his face.

"Fuck." He mumbled, rolling over in his cot so he could face the wall. "Can't even have nice things in my dreams."

He stared at the wall for a solid minute before pressing his face into the cot and screaming.

genre: angst word count: roughly 1k

It was, finally, the day on which you were supposed to be happy.

After all that happened, after years of struggles, the two of you decided that you were ready to move on to the next step in your lives. For some reason, it felt only right to do that, as if it was meant to eventually take place.

It was a natural thing to happen between a pair of people who were together to such extent. It was exactly that – you were together.

For some reason, the words “you were in love” wouldn’t go through your throat.

Saeran Choi Week 2019 Day 7

And we come to the end. Sadly, I did not have time to draw anything for the last two days and today this fic is not complete, but it’s all that I have. Moving is a pain and very time consuming! Thank you @saeranchoiweek for hosting this magnificent week and thanks to everyone who participated!

Day 7: Weddings/Happiness

Yoosung rubbed his neck, rotating it and Saeran couldn’t stop staring at him. The delicate curve of his wrist as it tensed and relaxed was mesmerizing. He knew Yoosung hated that he thought of his wrists as delicate, but there really was no other word. He focused on it and happiness blossomed inside him. He pressed his chest against Yoosung’s back and snaked his arms around his waist, clasping his hands just over Yoosung’s belly button. The cute little divot he enjoyed flicking with his tongue when they made love.

“What’s this now?” Yoosung chuckled. His brown hair tickled Saeran’s nose as he buried his face in it. He had let his natural color grow out about a year ago and Saeran couldn’t get enough of it. It was so soft and straight. Long gone were the waves Yoosung used to spend so much time sculpting.

“Do you know how much I love you?” he murmured into Yoosung’s hair.

“Enough to buy a house together I hope.” He sighed.

“More. So much more.” Saeran didn’t have words for how much more he loved this man. “I think we’ve earned a break, a nice long break. We’ve been unpacking for hours, so, why don’t you break open that wine, the glasses are in the cabinet already and I’ll go draw a bath for us. We could both use it, I know my muscles are tense, yours must be too.”

“Sounds perfect! Uh, what about the corkscrew?” Yoosung’s eyebrows furrowed questioningly as he turned in Saeran’s embrace and ran his hands over his arms and around his neck.

“Right next to the bottle, you can’t miss it.” He leaned into him and captured his full luscious lips. Even after years of being together, the electricity that passed between them had not diminished. He had been afraid getting married would dull their hunger for each other, but it only made it that much more satisfying, knowing he was making love to his husband, knowing he was fucking his husband. That piece of paper had amplified his happiness. No one else in the world was ever going to have Yoosung. His body, his mind, his soul, his love. It all belonged to Saeran, and while it was just a piece of paper that held no physical bounds, it somehow mattered.

“Ok, you go get the bath ready, use the lavender oil. Oh, did we unpack that?” Yoosung asked worriedly.

Saeran laughed and pecked his husband’s cheek. “Not to worry, I bought some just for this occasion. I know it’s your favorite.”

Yoosung relaxed his shoulders then winced in pain. “Just in time too. I’m seriously sore.”

Saeran leaned in and pulled the collar of his t-shirt aside and kissed the area he thought was bothering him.

“Mmm…more of that please.” Yoosung grinned.

Saeran nibbled playfully on his earlobe and pushed the brunette to arm’s length. “In the bath! Trust me.”

Yoosung rolled his eyes but acquiesced readily. They separated, Yoosung making his way to the kitchen and Saeran to the master bath. The house was a two story with the master downstairs. The bath had a huge bay window that looked out onto the vast backyard. Saeran couldn’t wait to get out there and start his garden, for now, the lush green grass and the wall of trees was still beautiful to gaze at.

He began to run the water making sure the temperature was right before stoppering the tub. He pulled the lavender oil Yoosung loved from the grocery bag he’d brought in that morning and poured it generously into the water. It didn’t make any bubbles, but bubbles rarely lasted anyway. Using his hand, he stirred the oil gently. He couldn’t wait to have Yoosung in his arms, to run his fingers up and down his skin, watching the rainbow effect the oil would leave behind. Times like these he wondered at the turn his life had taken. Living at Mint Eye he had assumed he was happy because he was told it was paradise and nothing else would make him as happy. How that woman had lied. She had snatched happiness away from him and driven him to hell.

Saeran closed his eyes and shook his head, that life didn’t matter anymore. This was his life now. There was happiness all around him, even in his darkest moments. His fingers found the scars at his wrist, remnants of his old way of thinking, when things were so bad, it would have been better to be dead. How could he have been so stupid? The thought that he almost threw away this future because of what that woman had done to him infuriated him.

“Ready yet?” Yoosung walked in and closed the door behind him. He set the wine bottle on the tub and handed Saeran an empty wine glass.

“Not quite, but you can start undressing if you want.” Saeran leered at his husband and drank him in from head to toe. He wore a tattered washed out blue t-shirt and faded jeans. His socks had cartoon whales printed on them, a gift from Saeran himself almost two years before, they were still Yoosung’s favorite pair.

Headcanons

7th Day - Weddings || Happiness

Unknown

  • His idea of happiness is finally being better than this red head and defeating him once and for all
  • He also desperately wants an assistant, preferable MC to be with him. Not only does the help at work make him happier, but someone who entertains him and loves him also
  • Sweets & Sleep. He loves both of those, whenever he gets them, he seems more relaxed and happier than without them.
  • Seeing Paradise bloom. When he reached his goal of seeing Magenta as undefeatable, he’ll feel pure happiness
  • When the Savior compliments him. That means he did good work.

Ray

  • Finally being called better than his twin
  • Spending time with MC, it doesn’t matter if it’s in the chatroom, or on the phone or personally in her room

  • Cooking
  • Making MC happy makes him happy

  • The red head’s defeat, seeing him begging for mercy is what truly drives him and makes him feel happiness beyond everything else
  • Winning in general, when he showed everyone who’s boss and worked for the success of Magenta, that pays off for him in happiness.

Recovered Saeran (End of his Route)

Saeran Week 2019 ー Day 7

Weddings || Happiness

“Hopefully someday…”

Saeran week is over which makes me both happy and sad. I loved seeing everyone draw Saeran related stuff as the community revived a little, but my wrist is grateful that it is finally getting some rest. ;;

For the final piece, I was inspired by the prompt ‘weddings’ AND I also knew that I wanted to draw Ray because he hadn’t been featured on any of the Saeran Week drawings so far. At first I was gonna draw a proper Mint Eye themed wedding, but I thought this would be a much funnier idea. You can’t tell me that Ray doesn’t fantasize about these type of things. He’s a true maiden at heart. xD

I will admit, this piece is definitely a little more rusty and rushed than the others since I couldn’t finish the lineart beforehand. I don’t hate how it turned out, but there’s definitely a lot of things that could be more polished. > <

Anyway, I’ll stop rambling now! Hope you all had a wonderful Saeran Week as well, either participating or enjoying other people’s creations.

I’m hoping this will return for a third edition next year. ^^
