Despite your inability and unwillingness to act on any feelings towards Trevor, you never let them get in the way of the friendship you had built. If anything you and Trevor had become close, so close the lines blurred between friends or something more. Everything was so innocent, but you held onto the tiny moments - afraid that with any wrong move, they would disappear. There would be a gentle hand on a thigh, his hand in yours on a drunken night out or eye contact that lasted longer than just friends. These were all mutual.

Your eyes found his from across the room, holding his gaze for a moment you understood everything he was trying to say without him using any words. Politely excusing yourself from the conversation you found the door which led to a balcony overlooking the city lights. Trevor was at your side just a short moment later. Neither of you spoke, basking in the comfortable silence for a minute before he spoke.

“You ready to leave soon”

Nodding a response you walked back inside to say your goodbyes. No one gave it a second thought that the two of you were leaving together, it had become quite common knowledge that you were strictly just friends. Though this was true, you were willing to bet that if you put in the right efforts, it would all change. You wanted to keep Trevor in your life, being just friends wouldn’t cut it anymore.

you see trevor leaning over the back of the couch to look at the snow falling out the window. he was excited, like how a kid is during the first snowfall.

“babe look at all the snow!” he says, eyes wide. you simply just nod and let out a little laugh. “can we go out and make a snowman?”

“sure trev.”

he practically jumped off the couch, grabbed you and gave you a kiss on your forehead before he began to rummage through your box of hats and mittens. Trevor was in town visiting you for a couple days he had off. he didn’t bring any winter gear with him so the hot pink toque and white knitted mittens were gonna have to do. you giggled at his appearance but he still managed to look good. you also picked out a hat and some mittens and grabbed a coat.

“trev, aren’t you gonna be cold?” you ask. he only had a sweater on.

“nah i should be good! let’s go!”

the two of you run outside and he begins to through snow at you.

“trev! stop!” you yell between your laughs. you tackle him down to the ground, pushing his head into the snow.

“how’d you know i wanted to make a snow angel!” he teased before pushing you to his side. the two of you laid beside each other and couldn’t stop laughing. trev stuck his tongue out to catch the snowflakes that were coming down. he looked so young and innocent, like he was a little boy again, exploring the world for the first time.

“cmon let’s make a snow man.” you say, reaching your hand out to pull him up from the ground. the two of you roll a big ball for the base, probably too big because you couldn’t help lift the smaller two at all. trevor finished piling the other parts of the snowman, then removed his hat to put on top.

“perfect” he says, stepping back to admire his masterpiece. the snowman was lumpy and half tilted, but that didn’t matter to him. a shiver ran through trevor’s body, and you noticed him try and shake it off.

“not used to the cold hey cali boy.” you teased. the two of you headed back inside where you put on the kettle so you could make some hot chocolate. you wrapped yourselves up into a big cozy blanket before you cuddled on the couch to watch a movie.

You slid you body down into trevor’s side, resting your head on his shoulder. he rested his head on top of yours. the two of you warmed up quickly between your body head and the hot chocolate. trevor pulled his head back so he could look at your face.

“what?” you ask

“thanks for being a kid with me” he said with a small smile.

“of course trev, it was a lot of fun actually.”

“it was wasn’t it?” he said scrunching his nose up when he smiled. he tucked your damp hair behind your ear and then leaned in and kissed you on your lips. he pulled away, just so he could rest his forehead onto yours, your cold noses pressed against each other. “love you y/n.” his smile was soft and pure.

“i love you more.”

“You’re my perfect angel baby, aren’t you?” Trevor cooed down at your six month old daughter, she was fresh out of the bath and happy as can be, giggling away as he fawned over her. “Mhm I know! You’ll never do anything bad, right?” You laughed quietly as he talked to her, clearly entranced by her.

“Just wait until she’s a teenager, won’t be an angel baby then” Jamie laughed from the couch and you chuckled. He wasn’t wrong, if she was anything like you were as a teenager, you were in for a rough ride.

“She’ll never be like that, she’s too perfect” Trevor tickled her belly which brought out another round of giggles.

“Trev, I was the worst teenager. Sneaking out, fighting with my parents, storming to my room… you name it and I did it” You were a dramatic teenager and since you met Trevor once you were in your 20’s, he never experienced that side of you, luckily. “If it’s genetic, we might have to accept that”

“If you ever throw a fit or slam the door, we’re going to have a big problem, little one” Trevor poked her belly. She just smiled up at him, babbling away. “See? She said she’ll never do that because she’s too perfect. My perfect girl” Trevor was too distracted by your daughter to hear Jamie laughing.

“Okay Trev, you take her word for it” You said, just to amuse him.

“Mhm I will”

the moment violet was born, you and charles fell in love with her. the first few months of her life you would visit the new parents every chance you could. caroline and nolan were close friends of charles, and they instantly welcomed you into their group when you and charles started dating. charles loved violet, he’d always get her every baby-related thing he saw wherever he went. dolls, princess onesies, toys, anything that reminded him of her.

you were the same, offering to babysit when your friends wanted some alone time, or wanted to go out for a date. often, the five of you would go out to kid-friendly spots.

‘violet needs to spend time with her favorite aunt and uncle’, charles would say. every chance he got, she was in his arms. caroline would always laugh, chastise him and tell him she would get used to being carried. 'good thing i have strong arms, then.' he'd reply, pressing his forehead against the baby's head.
