I have accepted that I was nothing more than collateral damage during the making of a solid man. If being a casualty in a war that was won in the end was the result of loving you, then doesn't the end justify the means?

I read somewhere once that it takes a certain kind of darkness to see the stars & that is something I still never fail to forget. It remained a constant thought in my mind because it made my fondness of the dark seem ordinary. It made me believe with my whole heart that my sadness was convenient & my objection towards the sun wasn’t mad. That is after all, what some humans lack. Convenience. Any from of normality. A charcoal night lit solely by stars.

In the future, I hope we’re capable of looking at each other through new eyes. I hope we pass by each other & innocently wonder what our new favorite colors are. I hope you don’t see crazy & I don’t see bruises. I hope you see peace & I see happiness. I look forward to the day of encountering a familiar stranger.

I’ll be better off drinking my hot tea & coffee, building the worlds largest collection of records & coffee mugs. It’s a safe bet, because there’s no longer a world where you’re sitting across from in the morning.
