people always talk about having an obsession with a celebrity as a bad things. by people I mean family and peers, not online fandom friends. but nobody ever talks about how having that ‘obsession’ of admiring a celebrity or character can help you beyond measures.

I get out of bed every day because if Joyce Byers could do it, so can I

I go to therapy because if Olivia Benson could do it, so can I

I continued my education after I dropped out because if Hermione Granger can be a great student during a war, maybe I can be a great student during the war in my head

I carried on with my life after the loss of my child because if Jim Hopper can do it, I can too

I kept dreaming about the possibilities in life because if Clara Oswald can see the stars, maybe I can too

I take my medication every day because if Remy Hadley can keep going with a chronic illness, so can I

I keep fighting every day because if Princess Leia doesn’t give up, neither will I

You never know if one of those ‘silly little character obsessions’ are keeping those people alive. Those characters are giving one of your loved ones the hope that they need. They inspire so others can do it too when it doesn’t seem like it’s worth it anymore.

I adore this character. She’s tiny, she’s tough, and she’s so adorable. If only she could get a handle on her… appetite. 

Anyways, thought I’d do some fanart of this game because I loved the ambiguous story and I love the character/creature design. Hoping the next DLC features more Six! Just hope they don’t explain too much–I’m enjoying the questions.

i ship michael clifford and jack barakat, but i don’t think they’re actually together. i like imagining their relationship and the dynamics therein. this is not any different from imagining one of them in a relationship with oneself, which all people who are attracted to these bands have done at some point, im sure. we think about these people in a sexual context but for me it’s no different from how i’d think about someone i know personally who i’m sexually attracted to when it comes to personal fantasies. we put two of them together usually because we like the way they interact and like to imagine them as a couple. we know they’re not really together

WE DON’T THINK OUR HEADCANONS ARE FACT

i’m well aware that calum hood is most likely a cisgender man. but i like the concept of him as genderfluid. so i’ve written a fanfic exploring this, which im not claiming to be true whatsoever. if someone thinks their headcanons are true about a real person, they’re wrong and probably need help seeing the difference between fantasy and reality. (i’m schizo-affective with psychotic tendencies so i get that sometimes that line is blurry for people and i completely understand if it’s due to mental illness.) but for the typical non-psychotic person, it is obvious that the headcanons are a fantasy, and the person isn’t like that in real life. and honestly even when i’m psychotic i would still know that fanfiction isn’t real, but i know that everyone’s psychosis is different

so basically, we don’t think our ships are actually together irl, we don’t think our headcanons are facts, and we just like fantasizing about this stuff so leave us alone and maybe go focus on a real problem like people writing pedophilic fanfiction or all the girls fetishizing gay relationships or transphobia in fanfiction, all of which are valid issues that need attention.
