To all the fan fic / fan artists who are over the mythical thresholds age some seem to feel exists, your work is amazing you are valid and needed in fandom and don't let some little keyboard asshole tell you otherwise. Ageism is wrong but sadly its showing up more and more in fandoms. There is no age when your supposed to stop, to retire from fandom. Keep writing and bringing out the content fandoms need you.

*RANT WARNING*

Please, please, please if you want to write about BDSM dynamics you have to educate yourself.

Even if itā€™s "just a fanfiction", you shouldn't give a wrong image of the dynamic itself.

I keep on bumping into fanfiction where Doms punish their subs without reason or without a warning, where the BDSM is depicted as borderline abusive.

A healthy relationship between Dom and sub is NOT ABUSIVE: there is consent, trust, respect. The sub holds the power because without their consent the Dom can't do anything. Please remember this when you write: abuse cannot be written off as BDSM dynamic. It's offensive and deeply wrong.

I would also like to point out that the omnipresent "baby girl you'll be punished for this" that ends up in a rough fuck is not BDSM.

You can be rough without having a BDSM dynamic. Being rough / loving to be manhandled is not the same of being in a BDSM dynamic. Having a safeword does not mean having a BDSM dynamic. There are similarities, for sure, but it's not the same.
