The Naive Fae

Raina Jones. 27. Cold is the morning, warm is the dream, chasing the answers 'til I can't sleep. Will I be stronger or will I be weak when you're not with me?

Rebekah's brow rose at the other she had to think for a moment before she could remember, most of that night was filled with memories of Faye or her brothers. ''Ah yes..forgive me I don't quite remember your name..'' she thought a moment longer before it finally hit her. ''Raina! That's it, sorry love i'm a bit out of sorts.''

Giving the other woman a small nod, Raina smiled and tucked some hair behind her ear. "No need to apologize, it was a small interaction," she said. "Why are you out of sorts? Is everything alright?" //@originalblondebxtch

Pleasure filled every inch of his body in that moment, it had been quite sometime since he'd willingly showed another his wings. There was a reason archangels or any angels for that matter didn't walk around with them visible. Their identities could be used against them and most would not be able to wrap their head around the idea of celestial divinity. However, there was something about this fae that had Gabriel trusting more than he had originally intended. Chuckling slightly at her words, "Yours are quite beautiful as well, Raina." Before gesturing behind him as if his wings were still visible. "Mine are grand for show more so than purpose. Father gave the four of us bigger and more spectacular wings to show our superiority to the other angels."

Blushing slightly at his compliment, Raina smiled as she listened to him. At this point, her wings were similar to his in that they were more for show than anything else. Fae were able to fly and still be fae without their wings, but they were more vulnerable without them. "Thank you," she said. "Out of curiosity, are you still able to fly?" //@thetrickster-gabriel

she's not a friend yet, exactly, but beacon hills isn't a huge town, and they frequent the same coffee shop — a coffee shop that, on days such as today, experiences enough of a midday rush to take up just about every seat in the building. so he can't help but smile again, more earnestly than ever, when she waves him over. "thanks," he says, settling his animal anatomy books down on the table alongside his coffee before he takes a seat. "i owe you. for a second i thought i was going to have to try to get some cramming done in my car." and his car still has enough of a lingering scent of his girlfriend to make that ... depressing. "i'm scott, by the way. i've seen you around a lot, right?"

Raina chuckled slightly as he thanked her for the seat. He clearly was kind and respectful which she appreciated. "Well, I've had to do that before and it resulted in me spilling coffee all over, so I'm glad I can help you avoid that," she said. As she looked over the stack of books he had set down, the fae tilted her head to the side a bit. "I'm Raina, and yeah, I think we tend to come here at the same times," she said with a chuckle. "Surprised we haven't spoken sooner." //@scotted

It wasn't that her guess impressed him - he had practically spelled out for her exactly what he was - it was the fact that she was able to put two and two together. As well as know that Angels did in fact exist. Many modern supernaturals disregarded angels as a myth. Something talked about in religious texts that held no realism. Gabriel found himself chuckling along with her. "Close." He murmured before taking a step backwards to give himself some room. Allowing a flash of light to envelope them as he showed his wings off to the other. It was only a short glimpse so the weight of what he was could truly be felt by the other. "I'm an Archangel, Raina. I guess not many people know the stories of the archangels anymore, biblical studies have diminished rapidly."

Growing up in the fae world, Raina had heard murmurs about archangels. She'd never expected to meet one, especially not out here in the human world. As he showed his wings, her eyes widened and she smiled. Pursing her lips, she clasped her hands together in front of her. "You're beautiful," she said softly. "I, um, sorry, I mean, your wings. I've never seen ones like yours." For a moment, she dropped her own glamour to show him her own. //@thetrickster-gabriel

The corners of his lips continued turning up, Gabriel's smile remaining natural at the other's words. It had been a long time since he'd received a genuine compliment void of ulterior motives. "I'm glad you think so. God gave me the name after all." His words full of truths hidden in plain sight. The archangel paused at the question of their business. His gaze darting across her face. Gabriel was wondering just how much he could risk revealing and if she could be trusted with the knowledge. He was Loki. He was the trickster. He was the chaos people were warned about. So why not throw caution to the wind. "Yes." He confirmed. "Our business. You know, the supernatural kind." He took a half step back in order to examine her aura now that she had calmed herself. "I'm guessing.." He paused, a raising a finger to tap it against his chin in mock thought. "Fae."

His smile was kind and Raina needed kindness in her life right now. She appreciated that he was being honest with her. If she was being completely honest she was impressed that he had been able to tell what she was. Considering how much energy she put into her glamour every day, the fae was curious as to how he could tell. Then she realized that there had been no irony or joking tone when he mentioned God giving him his name. "Good guess," she said with a chuckle. "And if I were to make a guess, with a name like that, angel?" //@thetrickster-gabriel

"Oh, they don't. These side streets are deserted most of the time, save for the shady kinda folk who like to conduct their business in back alleys," Malia stated rather matter-of-factly. "You should grateful that I'm the one who stopped to speak to you and not some creep." The walked alongside one another, with Malia taking the lead slightly as she lead them out of the maze of side roads and onto a busier main street lined with a variety of bars and restaurants. "Seeing as you're the one in need of cheering up, you wanna pick where we're heading?"

"I honestly feel like I've been running into nothing but creeps and villains since I moved to this town," she said with a sigh. Raina had moved to Beacon Hills with the hope of starting a new life, yet here she was, dealing with unknown dangers. The amount of supernatural energy in the town was concerning, but she honestly didn't know exactly who she could and couldn't talk to about it. "I work at Scarlet so maybe there? I generally feel pretty safe there." //@wildmalia

eyes sparkled with amusement as she matched raina's playful banter. "let's just say the jury's still out on that." she replied with a smirk. "but, you're right. you're not terrible enough for me to ignore you completely. so consider that a win." faye chuckled.

Raina stuck her tongue out in jest at Faye. The fae truly did love the other woman's company. She was honest, fun, and the more Faye pushed her away the more Raina wanted to prove she was worthwhile of the other's attention. "That's a definite win," she said. "You know what would be an even better win?" //@witchyfayex

aeliana crouched down beside raina, concern etched on her features. a piercing gaze scanned raina's face, checking for any signs of injury. "i could ask you the same thing," aeliana replied, her velvet voice filled with what could be seen as concern. "i was in the middle of heading home when i found you."

she extended a hand to help raina up, her touch gentle yet firm. "are you hurt? what happened?" aeliana's eyes darted around the surroundings, trying to make sense of the situation. whatever dark energy was lingering was dangerous. "lets get you someplace a little safer."

Meeting Aeliana's gaze, Raina took her hand and shrugged. "I'm...okay?" she said, looking down at herself to inspect for injuries. She could feel soreness across her entire body and a headache starting to form, but other than that she felt fairly unscathed.

"I'm honestly not sure what happened," she admitted. "This town seems to be attracting a fair amount of...unsavory individuals. I don't know that any place is truly safe, are you?" //@sirendancer

Gabriel had been eyeing the brunette's every movement. While he knew what he had done had helped her in someway - she was standing again after all - it wasn't enough to complete rid her of her panic. The tingle of it still danced across her skin and aura. The archangel turned his helpful hand into a hand to shake as she introduced herself. "I'm Gabriel." He confirmed, his smile morphing into a flashy grin. "New enough. It's definitely a place to be drawn it in our business."

A few more deep breaths and Raina found herself returning the smile that Gabriel was flashing her. "Gabriel," she repeated. "Somehow that seems perfectly fitting for you," she said. After a few moments she realized that he had alluded to the fact that maybe they both weren't human. She'd sensed it when she'd taken his hand, but now she was curious. "Our business?" //@thetrickster-gabriel

hazel eyes roll, irritation clear in her features. "can i please go kick her ass now?" she asked - possibly a little too eagerly. she hated that one woman could have such an effect on someone that she considered a friend. but she needed to focus on raina, not on the bitch of an ex. her features softened, moving to give a reassuring squeeze to the girls hand. "i'm sorry. what did she say?"

A small smile crept onto Raina's face followed by soft laughter. Raina couldn't help but admit that the idea of Lexi fighting Lyra for her made her breath catch in her throat. Lexi would probably win. Squeezing the other woman's hand back, the fae let out a deep breath. "She just kept apologizing, kept asking if we could make this work," she said. "And don't hate me, but for a second I actually considered it. What's wrong with me?" //@vampyredefender

“oh darling, i wasn’t talking about relationships.. i was talking about sport. hunting..” he lowers his voice into a not so hushed whisper. “MURDER.” he then chuckles and lifts the glass of blood to his lips again, humming in content as he takes a long sip. a nod came in response to her next comment. “alright, pop it on the menu and we’ll see how it goes.” kol offers the brunette a smile. “your friend lexi, huh. she cute?” he asked, a brow arching in response. he wondered if they knew the same lexi. although.. his lexi.. she’d always preferred her drinks with a little more spice.

Murder. It wasn't something that Raina was unaccustomed to. Hearing about it didn't bother her anymore. The fae realm was filled to the brim with murderous beings and constant death. She may not have been a part of it, but it also didn't even make her flinch.

When Kol asked about Lexi, Raina blushed slightly. Of course Lexi was gorgeous, but she hadn't really thought about it. "Badass blonde, not sure 'cute' is the right term though to describe her," she said. "Hot, bombshell, gorgeous as all hell, that might be more appropriate." // @dvlishkol

As the other woman grasped her hand and stood, Malia shot her a warm smile, pleased to be able to help take her mind of whatever might be troubling her. Malia herself had been struggling to cope with the weight of her own burdens lately and, despite making the decision not to bother her friends with her issues, she understood the importance of a good distraction and someone to talk to. “Don’t sweat. I’m no bartender - well, not currently, at least - but I have something of a refined palette when it comes to alcohol. I don’t get drunk easily so I drink mainly for the taste. We’re gonna make sure we get the top shelf booze, don’t you worry,” the werecoyote smirked before shaking the other’s hand that was still in her own. “I’m Malia.”

"I'm Raina," she said with a smile. It seemed like the fae had been meeting quite a few new faces lately, but she enjoyed it. She'd felt quite lonely for a bit and getting pulled out of that felt nice. "Thanks again for stopping, I didn't realize anyone even really walked over here..." //@wildmalia

The idea of real rain made the archangel shudder. He didn't mind the rain itself, but the feeling of being wet with cold and sticky liquid almost had his entire body convulsing at the thought. However, this rain wasn't real. It gave the affect of being real. Sounded real. Even felt real but as soon as he dropped the facade the sensation of the water would disappear. Gabriel watched on as the woman's figure relaxed, she'd even managed to flash him a small smile in what he assumed was appreciation.

Gabriel found himself offering her a smile of his own at her thanks. "Don't mention it." He muttered softly to her, as he allowed his hands to drop away from her face and her touch. The mirage disappeared with said touch. Now they were just two people crouched near a fence. Feeling a little ridiculous at his position, Gabriel quickly righted himself to a standing position. Glancing down at the woman before he offered her a hand up.

Taking Gabriel's hand, Raina brushed the dirt off her pants with her other hand and steadied herself. She could still feel the panic lingering, but she was together enough that she didn't need to be sitting any longer. As she looked at the stranger who helped her, she smiled. "I'm Raina, I haven't seen you around before," she said. Considering it was a fairly small town it was interesting when she met a new face. "New to Beacon Hills?" //@thetrickster-gabriel
