i saw the latest pre-order drop on liliuhms (shop.liliuhms.com) and idk what ur personal style is but liek their pink Cherry Bomb jacket made me think of u and sophie <3

sadly, i didnt see the ad (bc algorithm failed me, ig? idk) until after pre-orders were gone. so neither u or i can buy said jacket, but this is the ad i saw if u wanted to see the pics anyway since i dont think theyre likely on the site since pre-orders are done: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLjWMnAF/

omg i'm a liliuhms fan and was actually thinking about getting the tiger balm jacket!! or the white rabbit jacket for the nostalgic childhood memories of milk candy haha. that's so cute you thought of me, the vibes are indeed immaculately sophie-esque 🥰

(wouldn't it be crazy if i replied I ACTUALLY DID GET THE JACKET!! but it was expensive so i decided not to. maybe during their restock..)

irini.. i think you should read sakamoto days!!! i think you would have a good time reading it, it’s very funny but suuuuper cool!

ok boss i read it!! i heard of it before, but i'd always thought it was about sakamoto and his wife having slice-of-life adventures (like way of the househusband). i was wildly wrong ahaha. some thoughts:

  • i'm faster than you who's faster than me who's faster than you omae wa mou shindeiru <- this is like 50% of the manga
  • the art growth is so impressive. i thought it was pretty good in the beginning, but the fight scenes really get striking and beautiful as the story goes on.
  • sometimes the manga feels more like shin days instead of sakamoto days. shin is the audience surrogate so it's understandable we see a lot of the story from his pov, but i wish sakamoto's wife was the deuteragonist and we got to know more about her life
  • the female characters are... okay! they get super badass moments, but they fall into a trope i really dislike (the "only one woman allowed per team" trope which is sooooo booooring) and for the most part they have no narrative significance independent from a man aside from, like, one. maybe two. and they definitely don't get development on the level of shin or heisuke
  • the order is my favorite. insane weirdos dressed in bespoke suits. their chemistry is the most compelling part of the story for me. hyo vs magnet lady, kamihate vs heisuke, and osaragi vs shin and that snot-nosed boy were my most enjoyed fights so far, and anytime shishiba and nagumo take the stage too
  • "slur" is a deranged name for a major antagonist. "master slur" huh?? hm?? huh??
  • ok so... i think the story would really benefit from a bit more introspection. i can't help but compare it to chainsaw man, which is similarly absurdist and resists sentimentality, but the author knows how to depict emotional depth through simple composition and visual storytelling without having to yell at the reader "this character is experiencing emotions". denji is out here having full on psychological epiphanies about his evolving desires and himself and his status within his world. but even after the sakamoto past arc, i don't really know anything more about him. he's an ex-assassin. he loves his family. he's really good at his ex-job. that's it. the same can be said of most of the major characters... they were taken off the stove too quickly, there's a crucial lack of flavor development...
  • young sakamoto + nagumo = white-haired geto and black-haired gojo

favorite characters: akira, osaragi, shishiba, nagumo, heisuke, rion. and i know i would love nao if the author developed her character more. please give her something other than fangirl as a personality....

verdict: fun! silly! i had a good time reading it and am looking forward to new chapters! thanks for the rec :-) 💖

once a day or so, ever since it was posted, i have tried to reverse image-search to find out where you stickers featured in your word-count hobonichi post came from

irini... i have used so many synonyms. "emotion", "emoji", "mood", "moody", "emotive", "emotes", "faces", "emoticon", "smiley frowny", "facial expression icon"... i even tried replacing "sticker" with "roll" and "washi tape" in case it was those clear-kinds of tape you are supposed to cut stuff/"stickers" out of

i am begging you to give me details and locations for you mood stickers. all the ones i have found are on various levels of lame (usually "we will give you two sheets, equating to a total of 16 overall stickers, for $12" is what i mean by lame. but also i just dont like the designs of what i have found as much as the expressiveness of yours) or else just includes a copious amount of unrelated stickers (why?? would i want a bunch of food stickers with no faces in my sticker haul of mood stickers that you advertised as "mood stickers"? i wouldnt even have a purpose for them and its 50% of the stickers on an $30 purchase.. the food inclusion would make sense if it was advertised as "emoji" or "emote stickers" buT NOOO.. i am dying out here, squirtle. i just want something where ill use most, if not all, of the stickers, im trying to be eco-concious and financially practical, c'mon)

i am fully aware that, most likely, they are from years ago and/or a country that doesn't do online sales to the USA and/or were a gift. but i am begging to a lead here, irini, pleaaassee lmao even just better search-terms or a website/brand to look for that will at least give me "a batch of expressive mood stickers that doesnt have much, if any, unrelative-mood stickers tied in" i am on my hands and knees in the funniest of ways, irini, pLEASE lol

i got u squirtle. the cat stickers are called おもしろ kao. i got them at a kinokuniya in nyc, but i don't think these stickers are widely available internationally. i found two online links (here and here) but they ship from japan. the bunny stickers are called usagi no muu-chan. i got them from my local hmart. couldn't find them anywhere else online except this store from the netherlands.

It is downright criminal seeing how little the hellish production of JJK S2 is being talked about up here.

I love the good work the people at Mappa have done, and I greatly appreciate when an adaptation of a beloved source material gets the justice it deserves, but man is it embarrassing and difficult to wholeheartedly support Mappa. Every week a new JJK episode drops, we see a staff member rant in a tweet about rushing to get an episode done before it had to be sent out, or we see this season's director vent about taking all of the blame for work that no one was proud to create because they know they could do better than that.

I don't wish for the studio's downfall, but I do hope JJK S2 is the straw that breaks the camel's back because the JP animation industry as a whole is bloated like crazy and seriously needs to be reworked from the ground up. These animators deserve better than to be pointed at for releasing an episode they had no time or energy to put their all into.
