I’ve struggled with anxiety and mental health my whole life but recently it has been at an all time high. I’m pretty good at hiding my feelings but I’m learning to open up and share. I didn’t want to post because I don’t want anyone to think I’m being selfish or whining about my life, but I am struggling and scared so I’m taking a leap and being vulnerable.
Covid-19 has uprooted my life in the worst possible way. I work in the service/restaurant industry as well as housekeeping. At the beginning of March I lost my serving job due to the closing of dine in service in my state. My income was very quickly cut in half. I’ve been struggling to pay my bills the past month even with my other job. Well today when I went into the office to pick up my check, I was sat down and told I was being laid off. My eyes filled with tears as I walked back to my car and a million things started flooding my mind:
I moved to the US from Canada 4 years ago when I married my husband and since then we have have spent THOUSANDS of dollars on immigration costs. I have to renew my greencard within the next 2-4 weeks and I have no idea how I’m now going to afford an extra $680 when I can barely afford to eat and pay my bills. Every tear, dollar, piece of paperwork, mile driven to appointments etc. is about to go out the window if they deport me due to the governments strict timelines with things like this. 
Since moving here I have been through so many struggles with my mental health and that landed me in the hospital a little over a year and a half ago. Adjusting to a new home isn’t easy. Doing that without the support of family or friends is even more difficult. I am still trying to pay off these medical bills and it has begun to affect my credit as I have been late on a few payments.
I haven’t been home to see my family in Canada in 3 years and I was supposed to fly home at the beginning of this week.. that didn’t happen due to covid-19 spreading so quickly and now once all of this mess is over I’m going to be neck deep in debts and probably not able to afford it for another year or two.
Money normally isn’t something I worry about too much but with everything going on in the world right now I am terrified to say the least. I’m scared I will lose the things I’ve worked so hard to get, im scared that my life will be uprooted again, I’m scared that my mental health is taking a turn for the worst. I hate to post such negative things in a time where we need positivity but I am lost. I have attached my PayPal for anyone who is able to help out. Anything will help and will mean the absolute world to me! 💕
And to make things worse, my cats really sick and needs to see a vet but I have literally $11 to my name and I feel so fucking helpless right now.
I’m not faking it. I literally have $11 In my account. I’m so scared and stressed and honestly have no idea how I’m supposed to eat the rest of the week. That money will be going to dog food and gas. The world is an absolutely terrifying place to live in right now. I want nothing more than to hug my mom which is something I haven’t been able to do for 3 years.
