Sinless || Han Jisung

“Hey, don’t overthink it, Jisung! This is your job, after all. You had no problems until now!” The blond’s voice reached Jisung’s ears in a soft, cheerful tone.

“I know, I know! But… this human is quite something! Seungmin, why did you decide to assign… THAT… to me?” He quickly sighed in a whiny voice, ruffling his already messy, orange hair as he looked at the ceiling, lips curved into a pout, eyes focused on an imprecise spot of that grey wall.

“Oh, c'mon Jisung! It’s not his fault-”

“It is, Felix! He could have chosen anyone else from that damn database but, no! Let’s give Jisung this stupid human being that spends the whole day reading books and probably feeding stray cats for fun!” Jisung huffed, crossing his arms against his chest as he swiftly brought his gaze to the dark-red haired colleague sitting at the desk, quietly minding his own business as his fingers were quickly tapping on his laptop.

“Oh, isn’t that nice!” Felix clapped lightly with a bright smile on his lips that showed his pointy teeth, shyly kicking his feet while sitting on the corner of the desk Seungmin was working on.

“I know, Felix! That’s the point!” Jisung groaned, once again melting on the huge black sofa of Seungmin’s office. He was, once again, there to complain while he was supposed to be working. That week he had been assigned a new human he had to deal with, and he was clearly not satisfied at all.

He was part of the EH, Evil Human Department of the EMC, Evil Making Corporation.

Ugly names, right?

But he wouldn’t even dare to voice his opinion on those really… lame… names the corporation boss had given to the departments of that place…

The department he was working for had eight people in total, each of them with specific tasks: there were two leaders, Chan and Changbin, two people responsible of the department monitoring, Minho and Felix, the three that had to work in the human world, Hyunjin, Jisung and Jeongin, and then the one who was the backbone of not only the EH department, but also of the SNN, Sweet Night Nightmares department, and the LS, Lost Souls department… Seungmin.

And on that week, Seungmin’s choice for Jisung was highly, and desperately, criticized by his colleague, who didn’t seem to understand the fact that, as he kept growing with his job, his own power would be going to grow too, and to gain more energy he had to deal with different humans.

Seungmin was tired of the presence of the orange head, and decided to stop ignoring him for a couple of seconds. The typing noise on his new keyboard ceased, and he delicately put his round glasses on the desk as he slowly rubbed his nose bridge with two fingers, clearly irritated.

“Jisung. This is part of your job, you can’t stay stuck on the same level of difficulty. As you get better and gain more power, it’s obvious that the human beings you’ll get assigned to are gonna be a harder job to deal with.”

“Yeah, Seungmin is right… but I’m sure you can do it, Jisung! Now go and turn that human into an evil being! You’ll do great.” Felix commented right away, hoping to make Jisung understand, and maybe leave the office as soon as possible. The freckled guy just stared at him with a tiny smile on his lips, as he was trying to decipher Jisung’s expression.

“And it’s not like you can be seen anyway, so why should you even feel guilty…” Seungmin added, as he got his glasses back on his nose and brought his full attention to the bright screen in front of him.

“Gwah, Seungmin! Stop making so much sense!” Jisung whined loudly, once again, and quickly disappeared in a puff, leaving Felix and Seungmin alone in that office.
