Okay this ask made me smile so much!! I’m glad you love “I’ll Love Her Still”- Part Four is currently in the works, but I’m hoping to have it up by the end of this week (fingers crossed!). I’ll tag your sideblog in this so I make sure you know I answered it! @alittlepeoplemagic
“UGH!” you slammed your face down in your textbook. “FUCK this language.”
Brian’s eyes were wide as he looked up from his own schoolwork. “Y/N, my parents are home!!”
“Well, if they were being forced to study French, they’d probably be having the same reaction as me, Brian,” you chided him. “Why doesn’t our school offer, you know… Italian or German or… I don’t know, a language where you actually pronounce consonants??”
“You’re the one who wants to go to Paris one day,” Brian couldn’t help smiling. “So you’d better get back to it.”
You sighed and flipped back to the page that your homework was on. Somehow, Brian always knew what to say to make you feel better. The two of you worked in silence for a few more minutes before you said, “You know what?”
“It’s the vocab that’s tripping me up, not the pronunciation. I don’t know my ‘oiseau’ from my ‘oignon’.”
Brian laughed (why did your heart start skipping a beat?) and asked, “Do you want me to quiz you?”
“Please,” you smiled gratefully, scooting back from Brian’s kitchen table so that the two of you could face each other. Brian cleared his throat and shuffled your flashcards. “Ready?”
Brian bit his lip (was he doing it at the pet name?), but started quizzing you. You weren’t doing that badly with the words from the beginning of the chapter- maybe it was because you had Brian helping you out?
And then… something happened.
“No, it’s… ‘je taime’. ‘J’adore’ is ‘I love IT.’”
You rolled your eyes. “Fine, ‘je taime’.”
The blush on Brian’s face was impossible to ignore now. Was it… was it possible that he felt the same way as you? “Brian?”
“You’re blushing so hard, and all I did was say ‘I love you’ in French,” you laughed slightly.
“I’m sorry, Y/N. I know you probably don’t feel the same way, so why don’t we just move onto the next word?”
You felt your heart break for Brian a little bit, and you decided to just come clean. “Who said I didn’t feel the same way?”
Brian’s hazel eyes grew wide and he whispered, “Don’t tease me.”
“I would never. At least not when it was important. Like now.”
Brian smiled, his face filled with hope. “Y/N… je taime.”
You laughed and pressed a chaste kiss to Brian’s cheek. “Je taime, Brian.”
“Hey,” Brian pouted. “You missed.”
You were cut off by Brian’s soft lips on yours, and his hand gently touching your waist. When you pulled back for air, you whispered, “J’adore. That’s ‘I love it’, right?”
Brian laughed up at you. “Yes it is, smartie. Yes it is.”
