They still don't have a bed, or even sleeping bags, but Jamie and Elise still manage to fall asleep right away that night.
It's been a long day and it's going to be another long one tomorrow.
"I found a grill just on the other side of the bridge over there," Elise says to Jamie, coming back home with a picnic basket full of burgers. "I thought we could take a dinner break."
"Yes please!" Jamie says, holding her growling belly. "I'm starving!"
"Same," Elise chuckles. "I also saw one of our neighbors walking by! We'll have to introduce ourselves!"
"We could go to a bar or a café tomorrow, check out the rest of Chestnut Ridge," Jamie suggests with a shrug.
"Yeah, good idea!" Elise agrees.
Now that she had three levels in flower arranging, Charlotte's bouquets were coming out a lot better. She was actually beginning to make a small profit.
Since the Watcher was only allowing her to make arrangements with flowers she actually had in her inventory, she did have limited options, but fortunately she did have a few growing in her planter boxes.
Soon enough she'd be making thousands of simoleons!
For now though, she was aiming for a couple dozen to help pay for Lumiere's party.
She was just too icked out to do any frog breeding like the others. They made her think of Ti and Naveen... and she wasn't willing to imagine that.
While Elise plants the last crops and starts to scavenge around the property for things to sell, Jamie decides to start woodworking.
She has zero skill so it's going to be a long process, but if they're going to rebuild an entire ranch from the ground up, it's probably good for her to know her way around tools.
"You know what I really wanna do today?" asked the aspiring party animal.
"Do tell," Charlotte replied with an amused smile.
"I wanna throw a party! We haven't had one in so long!" Lumiere said with a groan, as if Founders' Day hadn't just happened a few days earlier.
"Oh! You're right!" Charlotte was quick to jump on board. "We can invite everyone and have a fun day in the sun! We can have drinks, a slip & slide... oooh I have so many ideas!"
"We'll need simoleons for all of that though," Lumiere pointed out. "Snow drained our household funds to pay bills."
"You heading off to work already?" Snow asked, looking at the sun in the sky for an approximation of the time.
"Yeah, Rainy's inside with Lumiere. His needs are pretty good so you don't have to worry about him for a bit," Charming replied.
"Great, perfect," Snow grinned. "We just got enough simoleons to pay the bills, so I'm doing that now. Frog breeding definitely helped bridge the gap."
"It usually does," Charming agreed. "Have a good day, okay? Try to rest a bit."
"You too, love you," Snow told him.
Belle also came by to purchase some fresh tomatoes.
"Hey, look at us, the three founding girls!" Belle said cheerfully. "And look at you! You're almost as huge as I am!"
"I feel huge," Snow laughed.
"I don't envy either one of you, especially in this heat," Ariel smiled sympathetically, remembering her own time a few years ago when she was pregnant with twins.
"So how's the nooboo?" Belle wondered.
"Oh, kicking up a storm, as usual," Snow replied.
Both Belle and Ariel took turns feeling the baby kick.
"Wow, so many of you came by!" Snow said happily when she saw the first wave of customers walk up to her sales table.
"You know we support local businesses around here," Robin said.
"Not like we have any other choice," Ariel quipped.
"I was making a joke," Robin replied.
"Well, I'm happy you're here," Snow laughed. "Don't worry, I have plenty more in my inventory of this sells out."
Lumiere also came by to hang out. He was no help at all to Snow, mostly just wanting to chat up Robin.
The girls immediately get to work, starting with planting some crops for the spring season.
There's dust and cobwebs everywhere, as well as huge stains on the walls and floors that may take a lot of elbow grease to get out.
Some furniture remains, but it's mostly been ruined by the elements.
The girls will have to earn some simoleons and quick if they want to sleep here tonight!
Jamie and Elise got the keys to their new ranch this morning.
It's been abandoned for decades, so there's obviously a lot of work to be done before they can call it home, but it's a challenge they're more than ready to tackle.
"I can't believe this is all ours," Elise smiles over at her wife, taking her hand as they walk up the path toward the front door of the ranch house. "We own a freaking ranch!"
Jamie looks around at the mounds of trash that have accumulated on the property over the years. "We've definitely got our work cut out for us."
I know I made a cute couple to play Horse Ranch with but I literally played for 20 minutes and haven't gone back in-game since. 🤣 My sims did get a horse though and I found them pretty cute!
Mostly I just wanted to come on here and apologize to everyone who sent me asks lately. I've accumulated a few of them, especially for my Sims 2 blog, and I'm soooo sorry for not answering right away.
It's been really nice weather out so I've been spending time outdoors. Plus my computer is located in the hottest room in the apartment so it's miserable to play games for a long period of time. 😂ðŸ˜
Sims aside, I'm doing pretty great! I've been enjoying walks with my dog and seeing my plants grow a ton. I'm also beginning work on a novel which may consume my whole life this summer.

Snow was up bright and early to tend to her summer crops.
It was the perfect day to head over to her market, but instead she chose to stay home and run a stall in the front yard. With so few Sims in the save file, it'd probably amount to about the same income.
Her market was nice and all, and one day it was sure to be the talk of the town, but for now she mostly just opened the business for the CAS Point.
In a few years she'd try to do something with it again...
Most of Charming's bonus was spent on his own family — actually, all of his bonus was spent on his family.
The only thing Charlotte and Lumiere got for their bedroom was a wall to divide it from the Charmings'.
It was very drab, especially with the cheap camping cots, but for now it'd do the trick.
Snow also got a new mirror to practice her speech in, that way everybody else could freely use the bathroom throughout the day.
With a promotion came a nice simoleon bonus, and a small upgrade to the sims' bedroom. Actually, now it was two bedrooms. One for the Charmings and one for their two roommates.
Rainy was about to have a birthday this year, so the toy box was a bit of an early gift from his parents.
He was a little wary at first when they told him to go look, but his face broke into a big smile the moment he realized he had new toys to play with!
"Wow! I love it so much!" he squealed happily.
