POST GAME REUNION IN RETHWIN hair swapsies. I think Astarion would see growing out his hair as like, a sense of claiming autonomy and identity etc. i think SHADOWHEART came to terms with the fact her dye job was done, as many are, in mental crisis and that it was not working like she thought it was so she had to chop it all off.

ALSO ALSO yes I DO THINK Astarion's hair grows, albeit it probably grows so slowly during his extended starvation that it's barely noticeable. I think with regular meals his hair and nails grow regularly, if not faster than the norm.

I can also imagine him being less fastidious about his long hair (curls would be tamed a bit by their own weight, whereas I think Astarion HAS to do that comb-back look BECAUSE it looks like otherwise the cut is straight up too short for his hair type. He has to literally pull it loose or else the shrink would be insane in the front) but VERY PARTICULAR about his nails because of the Crypt Incident. No claws for this vamp. He has a metal file and everything. He will get Karlach too.
