today, i saw an interview of a young gazan boy, hossam al-attar, who is an inventor. and it reminded me of this post by @tamarrud about gazans’ talent in finding creative ways to survive.

hossam is a young boy dubbed the “newton of gaza” by the people at his refugee camp; because during this genocide, he’s managed to figure out a way to use wind to generate electricity. a true inventor in the making. it’s honestly incredible to see someone so young create things out of nothing. watch the full interview and see just how impressive this little boy is! ^^

this is just one example of the many remarkable things the palestinian society is capable of. they are among one of the highest percentiles of literacy in the world (standing at 97.7%), while being under siege for decades, and having limited resources. they are thinkers, writers, poets, scientists, academics, artists, and so much more.

i’ve heard palestinians say again and again how much their society loves and prioritises education. hossam is just one kid, there are many more just like him—some still in palestine, trying to survive. while others have been unjustly martyred. the world has been robbed of so much potential and so many remarkable people.

but hey, there are amazing children and adults within palestine still. we must amplify their voices and achievements. we must support them and their right to freedom, their right to their homeland, their right to live.

lil update, got assaulted at my apartment last week and ended up with post-concussion syndrome & the flu. havent worked obviously through recovery so im strapped and i definitely am running out of essentials, so until my head is healed and i can go back to work i am in limbo. hoping to be cleared for work next week so this shouldnt be too bad, but i just need funds for meds, food and toilet paper while i recover. anything helps so nothing is too big or small, and i really appreciate how you guys have shown up with kindness and compassion for me. its meant more than i can say really <3 so pls donate if u can and share if u cant

I really genuinely like this site and it's original layout and premise. I like custom themes. I like mobile themes. I like how posting works. I like how tag search works. I like sending and receiving asks. I like how you can make your blog whatever the hell you want. I like this fucking platform and for some reason staff is vigorously sawing their limbs off like they have to but they're in the middle of a grocery store and everyone there is going "why the hell are you doing that?" and staff cries "you all want me to"
