I didn't eat any processed food for 3 days & I felt like shit the whole time now I just had one medium slushy from 7-11 & suddenly I feel great so basically I'm thinking that I have evolved beyond other humans, I'm in perfect symbiosis with the carcinogens I take in on a daily basis & my body will start to disintegrate at the atomic level if I try to be more healthy . Oh well!

i love u unconventional ways of showing affection

i love u knocking ur head against someones shoulder. i love u gently biting someone. i love u saying "hey what if i licked you rn" and then doing it. i love u hand gestures. i love u non verbal forms of affection. i love u sitting in a room together quietly. i love u walking together. i love u different ways of showing someone u care abt them

bringing this post back. knocking ur head against someones shoulder is actually the most important thing in the world

rb this and tell me what ur accent is. this has no purpose except the fact i just realized i could have like... mutuals with cockney accents or newfoundland accents or something and thats just wild

highlights of the responses:

  • the solid hundred americans saying "idk general american". i dont know what that is so im gonna pretend you mean "I sound like a disney channel character"
  • shoutout to whoever said "gay". also whoever said "autism".
  • to those curious; 'newfoundland' accents are what everyone i know says to refer to the stereotypical "canadian accent" that bad american TV has, 'cause you're basically only gonna hear that in a random fishing town on the Maritimes' coast.
  • the fact that almost every french person called their accent sexy
  • all my fellow canadians who are saying "canadian but i dONT SOUND NEWFIE" like yes babe we are not all One Single Fishing Town Accent (no hate to the newfies tho ily)
  • the one who said "i sound like siri. i have no accent" meanwhile siri is So Fucking Accented to my ears
  • the amount of people with english as a second language in the notes who now love their accents <3 that's great, love urself
  • everyone going "i'm TOLD i sound british. please not that"
  • the one person who described their accent instead of just saying a word. they happened to be canadian and i was like "you just. absolutely and totally described how i talk"
  • the amount of californians going "californian but i dONT SOUND SURFER OR VALLEY GIRL" like the US version of "im not newfie"
  • the one single californian who was like "yeah i sound surfer. what are u gonna do about it"

cannot believe there are people who aren't familiar with the 2002 movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. it's not remembered as one of the animated classics of the early 00s because it's so different than other beloved movies - no talking animals, no fantasy settings, limited comedic elements - but my god did it shine in so many other ways. arguably some of the best 2D animation ever created, outstanding soundtrack, an hour and a half of pure anti-imperialism and anti-colonialism in a kid friendly story about horseys.

Wanted to bring attention to the fact that Bisan called for mass protests today (April 1st). It’s okay if you can’t march yourself, but please make it a point to spread this so that those who can march do so—and also take this as your own checkpoint to ask yourself if you’ve been faltering in terms of sharing information about Palestine, doing what you can to fund humanitarian aid in Palestine, and staying informed as to the ongoing genocide in Palestine. Some might say it has been 6 months of this, but to me that’s all the more reason to make noise now more than ever. This is one of very few spaces on the Internet where Palestine has not been abandoned in people’s endless efforts to dehumanize Arabs. Please continue amplifying the dialogue surrounding this genocide. Free Palestine. Free Palestins always.

Adding that today marks the first day of Arab-American heritage month. As an Arab American I feel it’s my duty and responsibility to keep the momentum around this going—but I also feel like it’s everyone’s responsibility as human beings to advocate and agitate, regardless of where they’re from or where they live. Arab or not, it bears being reminded that this boils down not to ethnicity but to humanity. I worry that we have become so desensitized to these soaring numbers of massacres that we have forgotten that what we’re fighting for is the basic right of Palestinians to live—and to do so freely on their own land. Please remind yourself of this any chance you get. Again: shedding light on Palestinian genocide is imperative now more than it has ever been.

Folks have got to understand that they probably aren't messed up by some Secret Big Trauma that they just can't remember; but rather by a million tiny microtraumas that they do mostly remember but don't even register as traumatic because nobody actually understood that these things would cause trauma, much less stack on each other over the years.

Whether you're carrying one big rock or a big ol' bucket of sand, it's going to weigh on you just as much.

This is why psychologists have started taking more of an interest in CPTSD in the last 10-15 years. What most people know as PTSD is a response to a single, intensely traumatic event (or even a series of events). However, CPTSD (chronic post-traumatic stress disorder) is caused by living for years in a situation where your nervous system cannot catch a break. Even if nothing huge ever happened to you, you always had to be on guard for a thousand little things that could and did happen.

After years and years of this, your nervous system gets "stuck" in an activated threat response. It never really lets you rest, and if this started when you were a kid, you may not develop a lot of neural pathways that you should have, because your brain was too focused on keeping you safe to bother with little things like "genuine human connection" and "interpersonal attachment."

No lie, Complex PTSD/CPTSD is HUGE.

If you are disabled, if you are queer, if you are chronically ill, if you are the survivor of a toxic but not abusive relationship, if you grew up or lived under the threat of harm but no "actual" harm (or "very little" harm) was done, you may have CPTSD that isn't getting caught because CPTSD looks different from PTSD.

Am I the asshole for trying to kill my boyfriend even though I don't seem to remember it?

I (18M) met my current boyfriend (24? 25?M) because he was investigating me for being a mass murderer (I'm not), long story short after I was cleared of suspicion when my dad tried to fake-kill me and my sort of ex-girlfriend M (19F) and we spent some time chained together (you can check my post history for that one), we started dating. Even though we're now working together to find the actual killer, whenever he gets mad at me or we get into a fight, he brings up the fact I tried to kill him to win the argument, which I say is both really petty and stupid because I am NOT a murderer, but he insists I just don't remember it. Last time he brought it up, I really didn't know how to respond to him, so we haven't spoken in two days, which is also derailing the investigation. The other people in our team try to defend me most of the time, but they also want me to let it go so we can keep working. AITA??
