ghostly ramblings

@kimurasato / kimurasato.tumblr.com

Hello, KimuraSato here. Anyone from the Danny Phantom fandom may or may not remember me, but I used to write a lot for the fandom, and I decided to pick up on writing for it again. Sidebar image of my OC Abner Faust was drawn by the awesome akiwitch~

Past Present Future WIPs

Rules: past is a WIP you stopped working on/finished; present is a WIP you're currently working on; future is a WIP you want to write.

Thanks for the tag, @akiwitch!

Past: A lot of my stuff didn't have titles. Uh, there was this one I started during NaNoWriMo one year about a girl who pretty much couldn't die traveling around with a blue skinned woman and a vampire whose ex tried to kill him at one point. They stopped at a haunted hotel, which tried to kill all of them. I'm not really sure where the plot was going. It was NaNo. I was just letting the characters do whatever.

Present: My Veil Ridge series. I'm currently working on book 5 of it, though at some point I should probably go back through all of them and edit stuff. I'm pretty sure a lot of things still need to be named. Each book is about a different character. Right now, I'm working on Chloe's story in which she has to deal with a lot of cursed objects.

Future: Hm, maybe get back to Brynn's story? I started working on it on the side while writing Chloe's story, but I've kind of put it down for a while now. Brynn's story is pretty much about a girl whose village was suffering from an unknown disease. Bad shit happened. She lost her best friend and parents. She suffered a lot. Now she's traveling around and trying to not get killed by the Royal Hunters. Other than that, I don't know. More stuff with supernatural elements? I've always kind of wanted to do a superhero story though nothing ever stuck.

“Any interesting cases?” Chloe pushed around her salad, making sure the dressing got well mixed. Noah shook their head and dipped a cheesy bread stick into the marinara sauce. “Nothing that needs you to look at it. I’m pretty sure the antique doll,” their mouth twitched in amusement as Chloe made a face, “wasn’t actually cursed or possessed. It was creepy as hell though.” “All those kinds of dolls are creepy,” Chloe muttered dryly as she stabbed at her salad with her fork.

I saw a very blunt Instagram comment today that told a writer, "AI is going to steal your job soon. You may want to choose something else." It was so nonchalant and casual, like what was just said wasn't heartbreaking to hear.

Can we writers just make a pact just to... not quit? Can we not give in so easily? Can we actually fight to keep our professions and continue to share our own original work? I will never expect writing to be my main source of income, but that does not mean I'm so willing to give it up for the sake of some robot.

Rewrite Game

Tagged by @akiwitch! You're awesome! Thank you!

Rules: rewrite the last line of the person who tagged you however you want, then give your last line for other people to try!

My line:

The icy fear already working through his chest became a living thing, lashing against the inside of his ribs.

Rewrite:

The icy fear wiggled its way through his chest, thrashing about his ribs like a terrifying living thing.

My line:

Staying up late last night trying to decipher those pages was not looking like the best idea with the headache still pressing behind her eyeballs.
