Don’t get attached to unpopular ships because you will run out of fic and die

Alternatively: create the content and become adored by like 3 people forever

Where the heck is that website that rates games by how addictive they are? I've seen a mobile game that looks cute but I don't want to start it if it's going to eat my life (because it wants my money)

An apparently unpopular opinion: disabled people can have and do their hobbies. They deserve to have fun. They deserve to live their lives.

Their inability to do some things (like work, for example) does not mean they should be judged for… idk hanging out with their friends or to going outside. After all, having interests outside of work is often essential to our mental and physical health OUTSIDE of our disability.

And also *you might want to sit down for this* disabled people know what’s disabling for them (unless they people-please or push through due to necessity or survival of some sort). Disabilities don’t have to be visible or persistent to be disabling.

So yeah - my declaration: if an activity you want to do feels good and you’re able to do it, then do it. REGARDLESS OF YOUR DISABILITY WITH OTHER THINGS.

“If you have time to be on social media, you also have time for…” “If you have time to watch Netflix, you also have time for…” Yeah, but do I have the energy for it? Do I have the emotional and mental capacity for it? Am I pain-free enough for it? Can I focus on it? Can I do it without leaving my bed? Can I safely do it without risk of (physically or emotionally) injuring myself by pushing past my boundaries?

Actually I DON'T have time.

I need insane amounts of rest to function. There's a good chance I'll also be on tumblr, chatting to a friend, listening to podcast etc. during that resting time.

But I can't use that time to do whatever I want, whenever I want, because pushing myself past my limits will make me feel like crap for days.

So technically it's NOT free time.

This is a very helpful way of putting it. Recovery time isn't free time; it's for RECOVERY. And if you're neurodivergent or chronically ill or anything in that register, it becomes even more mandatory because your mind and body will punish you that much more severely for neglecting recovery. (Though, uh, that is definitely a thing that will happen to you even if you're Perfectly Normal And Healthy, it just probably won't be as immediate or obvious! so you may not even notice it until it MAKES you neurodivergent or chronically ill!)

Gonna look for confirmation but I've seen a claim relating to the news that the NHS is going to force GICs to hand over patient records to look for evidence of detransition, that the criteria they are going to use is if the patient has a GRC.

I dont have a solid source yet. Do not panic yet. But if true I will lose my fucking mind.

Confirmed by prof. Stephen whittle. Fuck.

The reccomendation is write to your GIC with the following:

“I do not give my permission for any aspect of my patient data to be submitted to, or collected for, the purpose of any research without my express permission in writing being obtained in advance”.

AND if you want a GRC get one ASAP. The wait time has increased so do both.

Reblog this post its important.

Who are big name tumblr users who post trans politics that we can tag

I've said the source. Professor Stephen whittle. He is on twitter.

stephen whittle on twitter:

"(...) The data link study looks at whether transition leads to a Gender recognition certificate, as ‘evidence of successful treatment”. That implies if a GIC patient doesn’t obtain gender recognition the treatment & transition has not been successful.

As I research showed most people only apply for a GRC when needed eg to marry, adopt or retire. I advise ALL GIC clinic patients (including PAST) patients who do not wish their data to be used in this way to write to their GIC a short letter stating'

“I do not give my permission for any aspect of my patient data to be submitted to, or collected for, the purpose of any research without my express permission in writing being obtained in advance”.

I also suggest that all who are able to meet the current criteria, apply for Gender Recognition as soon as possible."

the twitter thread is twelve tweets long and you can find it here at this link or just search @stephenwhittle on twitter and he has his thread and replies to it right at the top of his profile currently (12th April). risu is sharing the exact advice shared by prof whittle and now yall have the link so please keep yourselves aware of what's going on.

also about to go chain smoke about this since nonbinary genders aren't legally recognised here so the grc option for a lot of people (including me) isn't fucking possible.

I just....I just learned that there's a word in the English language...for when you run into someone to hug them with all the enthusiasm and strength you have....I learned that it's called glomp.

My God, English has so many words to describe physical intimacy, I'm in love
