What happened to Paige I was sleeping lol I just saw some tweets but didn't get it

She basically just went off about people bullying her again, called out tumblr bunny blogs, hockey twitter, leafs twitter, made some poor comments and got called out my a lot of people. Bad things were said on both sides. She was definitely was having a moment, which sucks, but she put a lot of negative attention onto Kappy as people started tagging the pens twitter account and their PR account.

She’s now deleted her account which leads me to believe something happened, whether she wanted to step away from twitter, Kappy said something, or worse, pens PR got involved.

Lol Paige is gonna get Kappy in trouble😂

She’s a human being who is constantly being picked on and ridiculed, so I do have some empathy for her. However, sometimes you just need to let things go and if the attention she got really bothered her, there’s a setting called ‘private’ on most social media platforms.

Tbh LeafsPR is definitely not gonna miss Kappy’s choices in women, that’s for sure. Good luck PensPR

Thoughts on Kappy?

I always liked him as a third line guy. Watched him a lot in person with the Marlies, cheered for him then. Super fast player, not afraid to hit other players and get deep into the corners, just needs to hit the net more when he shoots.

Was excited to see him take on a larger role on the PK this season, and I will miss his breakaways. Had some great moments in a leafs jersey, sad to see him go but unfortunately this was a needed transaction for leafs management to move on from this season. He will not be the only one to go.

Was Kappy worth a 1st? Did Toronto win the trade? Tbh I think Dubas robbed Rutherford but that’s another story...

Mitch was one of the ones who showed up? I really don’t think Mitch played well at all this series. Like he was giving the puck away so much. He had some good plays, but I thought he looked bad for most of the series, was that just me?

He’s on my list of inconsistent leafs for sure anon. While he had some good moments, he had plenty of jaw-dropping ones too (and not in a good way). He definitely didn’t show up in the way that we all wish he had, BUT hockey is a team sport, and someone else could have stepped up. Let’s be honest though, quite a few players looked bad for most of the series.

Mitch, Matthews, JT, Rielly, Andersen, spezza are pretty much the only ones who came to play in my opinion.

In defence of some of the other forwards, when Keefe created the power line of Matthews, Tavares and Marner, he kinda skewered two other lines. Guys were playing in unfamiliar positions, and with other guys they weren’t 100% used to playing with.

Yes they’re professionals, and are expected to perform as such, no excuses, but they’re not perfect.

Some guys were completely invisible, yes. And some were very noticeable for all the wrong reasons.

Quite a few of the guys were very inconsistent with their play throughout this series, which I think hurt them in the end.

Unfortunately however, you need to be able to score to win games, and we clearly didn’t do that.

You win as a team and you lose as a team.

I feel like now we really have to break up the core. They’ve shown they honestly don’t have any heart when it comes down to it. And after some of them threw tantrums over contracts and then didn’t bother to show up... like just do something

As much as this pains me to say, next season is it with this core.

Freddie has one year left, and as much as I’d love to keep him, we literally have no space. Yeah we’re losing larger contracts such as Ceci (4.5M), and our LTIR salaries for Nathan Horton and David Clarkson (10.6M combined), along with some smaller contracts such as Barrie (2.75M), Malgin (700K), Spezza (700K), but we will not have the space for him to demand an $8 million + contract which is around what Freddie can command from us or another team willing to pay. On top of that, say we bomb next season; will we trade him for assets? Who knows.

We need to add to our defence desperately. We’re losing 2 guys who ate up a lot of minutes and Dermott is going into his RFA negotiations. Sure we have Sandin waiting, but we need a good, veteran Defenseman who knows what’s up. No more of this “offensive defenseman” crap. We need a “stay at home” defenseman who actually does their job and focuses on keeping the puck out of our own net. Our additional cap space needs to be spent on bolstering our D if we ever hope to go anywhere in the playoffs.

We also need to look ahead towards our supporting cast of forwards. Contracts will be coming up over the next couple seasons and we’re going to need to get creative due to how our cap has been structured. Our reserve down with the Marlies has become depleted due to so many players being moved up to the Leafs or shipped out overseas to play in Europe/Russia. One of the Leafs top priorities needs to be focusing on rebuilding the Marlies in order to have a talented reserve on the back burner ready to go.

Hate to say it, but one of the big 3 more than likely needs to be dealt in order to stay afloat while the Cap stays where it’s at. I give Kyle credit, he tried. But having nearly $40 million tied into 4 players has essentially froze us from making any meaningful moves.

Something needs to give. And this time it’s not the coach, not the general manager, and not the president. It’s not an issue in management of players, but it’s the players themselves. The issue lies within that dressing room, and until each player buys in, we aren’t going anywhere.

yo this year hit a little different. no anger. no sadness. no tears. just nothingness. guess this is what happens when you fuck up just too many times. guess we’re all just numb.
