GOODBY, SILVERSTEIN & PARTNERS, SF. 2008 – PRESENT.

Currently working as Director of Innovation across all the clients in the agency. Behind some of the agency’s best known and most awarded projects, such as letting the Internet literally launch a car (from a 100-ft platform), making the Chevy Sonic play all instruments at 45mph in OK Go’s viral hit, filling the Internet with birds for the Audubon society, building a website as tall as Mt. Kilimanjaro (19, 340 ft) for HP, letting the audience control what happens on stage at SXSW ‘13 for Doritos, a global #1 hit with Fun’s ‘We Are Young”, the first commercial use of Augmented Reality for GE (helping GSP being selected as Interactive Agency of the year in Cannes 2009) and making  San Franciscans want to spend more time at bus stops (Yahoo! Bus Stop Derby).

"MAKE BIRDING COOL"

- The National Audubon Society

Avatar

The National Audubon Society asked us to introduce birding to a new generation as something relevant and, in their words, “cool.” So we took birding online, releasing thousands of beautifully rendered 3-D birds on the Internet for fledgling birders to spot. Birding the Net was a month-long online scavenger hunt and social media game that spanned over 800 websites and blogs, creating both obsessive behavior (missing sleep, skipping work) and camaraderie, with newly minted birders planning to go out birding together in the real world.

YAHOO! BUS STOP DERBY

We transformed twenty San Francisco bus stops into social gaming hubs that let commuters play other bus stops live and head to head. The Bus Stop Derby changed waiting into gaming, making one of the most boring moments of the day into one of the most fun things that you did today. It was a hands-on demonstration of how technology can bring people together in the real world, just like Yahoo! has always done online.

HP SUMMIT ON THE SUMMIT. FROM 15 CLIMBERS TO 15 MILLION CLIMBERS

We used HP technology to augment a charity climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro, turning it into a global social event where anybody could climb with the team in real time, on a website literally as tall as the mountain itself. The three-month program donated 8 million liters of clean water, enough for over 15 000 children for a year.

GE. PLUG INTO THE SMART GRID.

Innovation you don't have to wait for was a pitch-winning idea for GE’s ecomagination business. Our first task was to launch the Smart Grid. We turned the boring statistical case study on its head: think Al Gore’s slideshow on steroids.

Hands on data visualization on GE.Ecomagination.com and an AR experience that was as new as the Smart Grid itself got people both to pay attention and advocate the Smart Grid themselves: thousands of YouTube demos popped up on YouTube, helping to spread the word.

“….more than one million visits to the company’s Eco Smart Grid site since it was launched in February, and more than a quarter-million visitors to the site have spent more than five minutes on it. In addition, a demonstration of the GE promotion on YouTube has been viewed more than a million times.”
