The Plumb Bob Keep

The Plumb Bob Keep is down so I plan to start posting all of my older downloads here on Tumblr. There are updates I’ve wanted to make to older files for a long time, such as filename changes, new recolors, adding/fixing slots, adjustments to older clothing meshes, etc, so some may take longer than others to properly re-upload.

1. Favorite color

Red. And black, if you consider it a color or not. My past art teachers would say no, it’s the ‘absence of color,’ but whatever, they aren’t grading me anymore so I can say what I want. :P

2. Currently reading

I usually read 3-5+ books a month (my record is 13), but I’ve been slacking/not in the mood/headaches and haven’t started anything this month since the last book I finished, which was ‘Monster Midway’ by William Lindsay Gresham. I read it for both fun and research, it deals with the author’s experiences, secrets, and stories from carnies behind the scenes of the show. My current novel/planned series all revolve around carnivals/circuses/sideshows, so this rare book was like a holy grail to add to my collection of 100+ books on the subject. Not sure what i’ll read next, either more research or Edward Lee, an extreme horror author I adore.

3. Last song you listened to

I thiiiiiink, it was “Death is in Love with Us” by H.I.M, that or “Run Away From the Sun” by Ville Valo, who is the singer of H.I.M. I recommend listening to either, or literally any song Ville lends his voice to, it’s amazing.

4. Last series you watched

American Horror Story, the new season is awesome!

5. Sweet, spicy or savory

Any/all of them, though I have a limit on spice. I still like to taste my food, not just feel the burn.

6. Craving

To get out of the funk I've been in.

7. Tea or coffee

Tea. Green or any variant of black. I drink hot tea as soon as I wake up, and several more cups throughout the day. Near the entirety of my mom’s side of the family are tea drinkers, we all learned to drink it like my grandpa, hot black tea (Lipton), with milk and sugar. At this very moment of typing i’m drinking Assam tea with milk and raw sugar. I absolutely can’t stand coffee, not the taste or smell.

8. Currently working on

In real life, i’m working on trying to get back to my novel, I decided to make things harder on myself and add a new scene to a chapter, plus a few more final-final edits (i’ve drafted the damn thing probably 10+ times) Then I need to finish re-reading the last ten chapters or so. Once that is done i’ll start sending it out to agents....again.

Sims-wise I have a list of lots to build for my current town and I need to finish a few clothing conversions I started months ago. One of which was part of a request that I took on a year ago....maybe it was two years ago now...annnnd this is why I try not to take requests. I suck at getting them done in a timely manner.

How long have you been playing the Sims? I think I first heard of the Sims when I was in 7th Grade in 2002/2003. The Sims on Playstation 2 was the first version I ever played, I got hooked and went to buy Sims 1 and all of the EPs for PC that were available at the time (I still have all of them) I only remember having to wait for Makin’ Magic to be released, which has an advertisement for the Sims 2 on the back and led to me obsessively watching trailers, reading articles about the new features being added, I even downloaded the early release of bodyshop to mess around with before the game came out.

How long have you been a Simblr, and why did you become one? My first post was a WIP in September of 2017, though the account existed for awhile before I ever posted. I made a Tumblr account initially because so many simmers posted their content here and it was easier to like the posts and save them all in one place on my Tumblr account rather than have a million “to-download-later” bookmarked pages. Now I use it as a secondary home for my download posts outside the Plumb Bob Keep, sometimes WIPs, which I regret posting, because it seems like whenever I do a WIP, it takes several years before I actually finish and release whatever it is.

What type of Simblr are you? I play a medieval based Sims 2 game, though I don’t attempt to go for 100% accuracy. Not only am I not educated enough on the medieval period to replicate it, I know it would only put limits to what I could make or have in my game. 

Nearly all my posts are download related, i’d like to share gameplay pics, pics of sims or builds, but I worry that I would be too inconsistent for those who may enjoy seeing such things. I don’t play the game as much as i’d like, and most of my time spent on things sims related is converting outfits, which can take weeks sometimes. But I don’t know, maybe i’ll share some pictures anyway, even if they show up sporadically every year or so.

Which generation of Sims do you primarily play? Sims 2. I haven’t played the Sims 1 since the Sims 2′s release. I bought the Sims 3 on my birthday.....whatever year it came out, and played for about 8 hours, and almost had fun. All I did was have my sim wander the neighborhood collecting seeds and rocks, and fishing. I also played Sims Medieval for a few days and had a lot of fun, but I haven’t played it since those few days many years ago. Now I just use it for converting purposes.
