This is a fan animatic I made a few months ago. This song from F+TM is my favourite of all time, and it just suited Yugi and Atem so well!

At that time, I was also planning it to be my farewell to the ship and the fandom. I wasn't in that good of a state and was super anxious about my faltering interest in Yugioh. I couldn't understand why I can't let go of something I really loved and Florence's lyrics were more or less how I felt towards everthing puzzle-related at that time. I got much better now, even though I still feel quite sad not being able to focus on puzzle so much. I don't even think I could put so much passion in anymore, but hey! I am still here.

I love the AUs where Y/N dresses Sun and Moon up after leaving the pizzaplex so no one else realizes they're robots. But I keep thinking about an AU where Sun and Moon leave on their own without ever meeting them, dress themselves up in big disguising clothes, and then finally meet Y/N, who has no idea that this weirdly strong tall guy who keeps helping them lift things is a whole daycare robot

I can just imagine Y/N touching his arm once in thanks and Sun jerking away, so they apologetically go, "oh, I'm sorry! I should've asked first," while worriedly thinking, "huh... his arm is quite hard to the touch, he must be really skinny. I should get him something to eat. It's only fair, since he's always helping me out." So Y/N gets him a burger one day and Sun just stares at it for a moment because he can't eat it but the thought is appreciated, and gives a really strained, "thank you."

I like to imagine that he's friends with a few kids that don't have any homes from all his exploring of the city, so he secretly gives them the food Y/N keeps giving him. Sun's thank yous get a little less strained and more genuine over time as he knows the food will be put to good use

Also Y/N absolutely has a little sibling who used to go to the Superstar Daycare. So when Sun and Y/N get closer, the two "meet" and the little kid is just like, "...there is no way my older sibling is this stupid to think you're human," and Sun loves this kid to pieces, but he is silently going "pls" in utter terror. The kid will let him have this, but there will be blackmail involved

I haven't fully figured out Moon's involvement yet, aside from Y/N thinking Sun has a phobia of the dark, but I think it'd be cool if Y/N finding out they're a robot is somehow Moon's fault

I got a little carried away with that. Anyway, it's been on my mind for a good while

Also they have to meet during winter because if Sun and Moon were covered head to toe in the thickest clothes imaginable during any other season, Y/N would be so concerned

But! This also leads to Y/N lighting up excitedly like, "you've never built a snowman before? We have to change that," and Y/N being very fond of how mesmerized Sun sounds when he's watching the snow fall outside

Gosh, actually, if they met towards the start of winter, Y/N could even witness Sun's first time ever seeing snow fall. Sun's explanation being that he came from a place without snow of course, which is true, and Y/N joking that that must be how he got his name

I'm very normal about this AU idea, excuse the rambles

jdjghd i love these tags, because this au IS highly reliant on y/n hating to be intrusive. Y/n will only ask about something if they're worried, then proceed to apologize for it anyway and drop it out of respect. They have no idea

HELLO hi I feel that not wanting to be intrusive vibe hard but ALSO I have been marinating on this while doing -insert human chore here- Take these -DCA is basically in drifter mode cause how the heck would they get an apartment or something unless they gave up their disguise to gain someones trust (stares intensely at YN) to let them room with them, SO in also doing that and jumping on the ‘helping random street kids’ they’ve been lowkey using their top tier crafting knowhow to basically build comfortable shelters for them and whatever adult family they may be attached to? Like there’s an area of the town that’s kind of shitty except for this growing camp thing that’s technically not zoned to any private property and the city isn’t doing anything about it but like, Sun/Moon keep taking discarded pallets and shit/stealing building supplies from big businesses cause fuck em to construct at least shelters that are comfortable (not just bearable) for them to use? And it’s slowly making this almost mini community especially with winter coming in? -YN has bad eyesight. Like, they probably can’t drive themselves anywhere but they’ve gotten so used to it that they just... can function without needing (being able to afford) the assistive stuff that insurance could provide? Or they’re stubborn about it in their own way and just prefer not to use it a lot of the time unless they know they NEED to be visible about not being able to see well (aaa I don’t know a lot of specifics about this kind of thing so I’m not touching details cause I don’t wanna get them wrong) BUT THIS would also make it double believable that they don’t realize the boys don’t have a human face. Humanlike, sure, but aside from being a beanpole of a creature, they wouldn’t recognize them as the DCA from the pizzaplex like the kid sibling would? -It also gives them more pull to casually offer help to YN once they realize they can be extra helpful with some things, which could also lead to some juicy moments of overstepping to help and getting some backlash about trying to baby them when they’ve been doing just fine. One of the few things that could set YN off maybe? -Sun’s excuses for having to leave before it gets dark get more and more wildly elaborate to the point of him stepping on his own words cause he can’t keep the fibs straight? In the BG Moon is just facepalming like “you didn’t have to be so ‘creative’“ “I CAN’T HELP IT, I DON’T LIKE LYING” “Then just let me out already.” and the casual fight for the right to pilot starts up again. New anxious Sun time? Though he’s pretty sure Moon is just bored and not gonna go all murder happy? Can’t be sure though. Something still w~r~o~n~g and without someone to undo the virus it’s more just managing the symptoms than treating the source?

HI, I've been thinking about this for like half an hour. OHH BOY...

"Unless they gave up their diguise to gain someone's trust" sent me into daydream mode for a good while where I thought about if, perhaps, Fazbear Entertainment has been desperately looking for the DCA because having one of their animatronics out on the loose could be VERY BAD for them. And after awhile, FE gets a hint of some sorts of the DCA's general location, suddenly putting Sun and Moon in much higher danger of being caught than before. Their two options would be to either abandon Y/N who they had already gotten very emotionally attached to at this point to leave the area, or reveal themselves to Y/N in the hopes that they would hide them. They'd have enough trust in Y/N at this point to give the second option a go

I did mention wanting the reveal to be Moon's fault however, so that could be combined as Moon coming out when they're meant to reveal the truth, and the virus acting up BAD at the worst timing, causing said reveal to be... less than safe or calm. It would be a disaster at first and Sun would be terrified of Y/N reporting them because if it

Y/N WOULD decide on keeping them safe once clear-headed, but Sun wouldn't know that at first and would likely end up scaring Y/N even more by frantically pleading with them, both of them very overwhelmed by the past 24 hours. Especially with Y/N having a whole robot up in their face and hands on their arms, rambling in a panic to them faster than they can process. It would be a whole mess until things calmed down

Jjjjjust an idea anyway. Back to what you were talking about though,

Y/N HAS BAD EYESIGHT YESYESYES, WE'RE HAVING THAT. If the sleeves were to ride up a little too far sometimes, or something else just became a little too visible, they likely wouldn't bat an eye at it. I like that. The trouble driving also works with me mentioning Sun walking Y/N home from work earlier in a different post

The big reveal about moon giving up them as an animatronic could absolutely have him go off cause he really doesn’t trust people yet? Sure as shit YN is gonna rat them out so when he eventually gets control he’s fighting between genuinely liking YN but also almost scared animal reaction into fight mode that IF they learn THEN Faz Ent is gonna end up coming for them and ruining things not just for them but also the kids they’ve been looking out for (and their parents but moon isn’t about helping the parents still). And YN was already set on helping them as soon as Sun started kind of explaining stuff and the words ‘need somewhere to stay’ before it even got to the robo-reveal. Which does kinda come out and that realization is made with Moon’s little... rampage? Moon being Moon. As one does. And they’re shaken up, and maybe banged up a bit, but get that one moment they need of him sorta hesitating/holding back either from his own feels or Sun yelling at him internally to stop/trying to take over, YN can get in a “Let me help you!” full of desperation and reaching up to take his faceplate in their hands. And everything freezes for a moment. Moon is shocked. Still in murder mode but that dangerous stillness where it could go either way. Teeny tiny brush of YNs thumb on his cheek to sooth. A much quieter “You’ve helped me so much already. Please... Let me help.” And now moonboy has to deal with his temper tantrum and some guilt and the begrudging need to make things up to YN AND an anxious as fuck Sun because WHAT WAS THAT???

THE KIDS!! I didn't even consider the kids, oh wow. The "leave or get Y/N's help" suddenly holds a lot more pressure, and probably more conflict between Sun and Moon. They can't leave, because that would also mean leaving the kids who are relying on them, and Moon doesn't want to do the reveal. They start yelling at each other, Moon insistent on them being able to take Faz on and stay hidden while Sun angrily calls him a stubborn fool who will only get them captured and decommissioned with so little affective action. Moon thinks Sun's plan will be their downfall, and Sun thinks Moon's plan will be their downfall. So things get hectic when Sun's plan almost comes to fruition and Moon unexpectedly comes out, virus going haywire in his perceived danger

AND TTTTHEEE.... GRABBING HIS FACEPLATE HELLOOOO *drops to the floor, coughing dying crying. I'm so normal about this, you can tell how normal I am about this. So so so normal about it

UNRELATED IDEA Before Sun starts making it a 100% habit of walking them home, maybe they get mugged or something but the dude doing it is also fuckoff tall and at first they thought it was Sun until it definitely wasn’t? Makes them even jumpier about walking alone to go to and from work (a mystery yet to be solved where but??? Probably somewhere that doesn’t need them behind a computer or reading stuff? Plant nursery? Moving big bags of soil/fertilizer or large plants around regularly? Or some kind of construction where they are more of a grunt worker (renovation on one of the nearby warehouses where the kids shelter stuff is? Or putting up a new one?)) Next time Sun pops up has YN on edge cause oh boy things happened. For a moment Sun thinks it’s something he did until there’s a timid explanation. And both boys get a little snarly about it, but also Sun feels guilty about not being there and beats himself up a little about it internally. Moon’s still half like “why, they aren’t our responsibility” but there’s a little bit of possessiveness brewing? Figure he’s slower to win over. UH BUT um... Heck I had a thing but now my brain got tunneled on that idea but aaaa I can also see the kid sibling blackmailing Sun into playtime every time he walks YN home after, which could lead to both the initial Moon meeting by keeping him there longer, but also some fun commentary of “wow... you’re actually really good with kids.” Alluding to him either having his own kid siblings or having his own KIDS, YNs sibling trying not to lose their mind giggling and the idea of SUN HIMSELF having his OWN offspring flustering the heck out of him. Cause that! THAT would mean he’d have to- OH golly, haha  oh my, no... Unless lmao But man moon could have a hayday prodding him and teasing about that one. Some really fun internal dialogue XD Meanwhile YN was genuinely sincere about him being good with kids and finds it super endearing and sweet. And if he did hint at taking care of little ones, maybe makes some cookies or something for them to take ‘home’ a little regularly. Every other week or so, something like that? Baking as a hobby/side job for when work slows down?
