it was kind of fucked up for wall-e to be that way about fat people now that im thinking about it

I’m never NOT thinking about how the first 40ish minutes of Wall•E are the most evocative, beautiful thing that the Walt Disney company has ever produced bar none, and then the SECOND they reach the space station it becomes the most boring, blunt and extremely ableist “save the earth” animated kids movie in existance for the movie’s remaining sixty minutes. Why did they do that to him.

guys I think maybe the space station part is important to the artistic themes of the movie

frankly i feel like if you read wall-e as fatphobic you're kinda misunderstanding the messaging of the film

I feel like you can make the same messages without putting the idea of being fat/needing mobility aids as a moral failing. I understand where the idea comes from, but just because the idea has good intentions doesn't mean the effect isn't shitty.

"humanity lived on a space socialism ship where everyone had their needs met. They got fat and lazy. They never made any art all they did was get eat and be dumb and use mobility scooters. This is a moral failing. We need to force everyone to work on a farm and grow their own food because that would make them not dumb and lazy"

I was actually just up in Ohio for the solar eclipse, and did you know, I'd never seen Spring before?

I thought I had, because down here in Florida we do get some flowers and nice green leaves as the weather shifts from cool to hot, but the trees are never bare and the flowers just blend in with the rest of the trees and in comparison this Actual Spring was some sort of magical wonderland, I swear to god, I've never seen anything like it

Apple blossoms???? are so pretty???????? the subtle changes of the colors, and they take up the whole tree and they're so damn beautiful????????????????? I had never seen them before, we don't have any apple trees down here at all, but now they might be my favorite flower

I'm familiar with cherry blossoms- we do have some cherry trees- but not like this. This tree was entirely pink and stood out so much! No leaves or anything on the trees, just flowers everywhere!!! I see why people like spring and cherry blossoms so much, I think.

And idek what these are but LOOK at that!!!!!!! Life and color!!!! Spring!!!!

The Joker/ the friendful visitor) except nobody gives a fuck about it or references it or thinks it’s funny except me and my bf bc it was a term that trended on twitter for one hour for one day, months and months ago. it was a caption on a tweet of a completely unrelated out of context phone video of a fight outside a bar. it trended just because the phrase Straight Man Jumped In Gay City For Refusing to Twerk was so insane and had nothing to do with the video. and i use it for everything now. Closeted Man Jumped In Out City For Refusing to Self Acceptance. Autistic Man Jumped In Conversation City for Refusing to Eye Contact. Brave Man Jumped in Get Scared City for refusing to Tremble. Genuine Man Jumped In Ironic Enjoyment City for Refusing Shame. just some suggestions on how to integrate the straight man and the gay city that claimed him into your life
