Because I saw a poll that asked a very good question, but did not have *nearly* enough options:

I'm not answering this yet but I'm saving it for later. As a professional singer paid by a church choir, I have sat through four to six hours of Christian church services every week for years. I'm going to need to meditate on this question to be able to pick the answer closest to what I think.

I'm one Jew and I have like eight opinions on this and only get one button

I feel like it's the same guy but they insist that He had a kid with the Shabbat Bride and that the Bride is also Him, and a) He didn't and b) that's a very odd way to look at a marriage

I do not know when flaking on people became Cute and Quirky™️ but it's actually incredibly disrespectful of people's time, rude, and, when a continuous problem, makes you a bad friend

Like it is not a coincidence that the people who reblog "cancelling plans last minute because i don't feel like it is my heroin 🤪" are the same people who reblog "i think everyone hates me no one wants to hang out with me 🥺" like yeah i wonder why lmao

Russia, 1881: We’re gonna kill any Jew that doesn’t flee Russia. We’re restricting Jewish emigration to Europe, but permitting emigration to the Middle East.

Germany, Austria, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Finland, Slovakia, Croatia, France, and others, 1933-1945: We’re gonna kill every Jew in Europe. Flee to the US or Palestine, or die trying.

The US, 1927-1952: Yeah sorry we’re restricting Jewish immigrants to like. 300 people per country. So good luck getting in. We recommend that Jews go to Palestine instead. Btw we are looking to take in Nazi scientists if you know any

Egypt, 1947-1950: We’re rounding up all our Jews and deporting them to Israel

Iraq, 1951-1952: We’re rounding up all our Jews and deporting them to Israel

Algeria, 1962-1965: We’re pressuring and intimidating Jews in the hopes that they’ll all leave the country and go to Israel

Egypt, 1956: We’re rounding up all our Jews and deporting them to Israel (again)

Egypt and Libya, 1967: We’re rounding up, torturing, and killing all our Jews. The ones that survive can flee to Israel

Poland, 1968: The Jews in our country are already loyal to Israel. They will face dire consequences if they don’t leave our country and go to Israel

Ethiopia, 1974-1985: We’re going to marginalize and eventually try to kill all our Jews, and the only way they can escape is by being airlifted out of the country by Israeli helicopters

The US, 2023: Why can’t the Israeli Jews just go back to where they came from? Don’t they all have dual citizenship or whatever?

I regret to inform you that Discord's new Terms of Service includes an arbitration clause. You can find it here https://discord.com/terms/#16. This clause includes an opt-out, which I have transcribed here:

You can decline this agreement to arbitrate by emailing an opt-out notice to arbitration-opt-out@discord.com within 30 days of April 15, 2024 or when you first register your Discord account, whichever is later; otherwise, you shall be bound to arbitrate disputes in accordance with the terms of these paragraphs. If you opt out of these arbitration provisions, Discord also will not be bound by them.

These clauses are underhanded ways that corporations seek to deprive you of your right to participate in class-action lawsuits and your right to a jury trial. (This does only apply to us users ,other people still spread the word though )

Bad news, @noodelzmop. Arbitration basically means that if you want to sue Discord for whatever reason, the dispute needs to be handled in house. Specifically, in their house. If you don't get this email out, you're basically signing away your right to legal recourse if they do criminally shitty stuff to you, like with the McDonalds app.

I have been told that emailing "I am confirming that as of the date of this email, I am choosing to opt out of binding arbitration to settle disputes with Discord." With the Email you used for your discord account is enough for the notice but take this with a grain of salt as this was not said by a lawyer

reiterating that this only applies to US users

THIRTY DAY LIMIT BTW. I suggest taking sixty seconds to fire off a quick email with op’s recommended text. I have no plans to sue discord but better safe than sorry

Some of you don't have firm principles that transcend ideology, and it shows.

"Spreading blatant misinformation is okay when it supports a cause I care about, and if anybody corrects me, it means they do not share my values." 🤡

"Police brutality is okay if it's being carried out by a government ascribing to my preferred political philosophy." 🤡

"If this person has harmful views, then my criticism of them can't be [racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic/antisemitic/Islamophobic/classist/ableist/etc]." 🤡

Like, please, I'm begging you guys to invest in some basic standards.

This is what happens when we base morality on who does certain actions instead of basing it on that of the actions themselves.

my partner doesn’t use pet names nearly as much as i do, which is very funny because i will crack my gay little knuckles and say some shit like “good morning my sun and moon, my loveliest boy, my baby my sweetheart my darling dearest” and he will reply “hello adrian”

Anonymous asked:

all the people at Coachella with their privilege and without a care in the world, wearing keffiyehs and unfurling banners of literal pflp terrorist Leila Khaled, and Billie bloody handprint pin Eilish calling for a ceasefire, and zero acknowledgment of the fact that six months ago, in a desert, at a peaceful music festival, hundreds of people were brutally murdered, tortured, gang raped, and kidnapped. if it were anyone or anywhere else, would they care enough to performatively acknowledge them? if it were anyone or anywhere else, would they celebrate the massacre? I think about all the lives taken and how the world ignored and mocked them and it still doesn't make sense.

..... You're right and you should say it

It's easier to be a pro-pal than to care about the hostages it seems.

Avatar

anon, you’re not alone in thinking about this

and if they actually understood any of this and actually cared about the lives of anyone involved, they’d have cared about the hostages from the start, since their release and a ceasefire deal are inextricably linked. but it’s much easier to be a bratty American in California with far less danger of being slaughtered or bombed while vibing to a setlist and pretend that performative slacktivism is doing something than it is to apply humanity.

necessary correction: the suicide rate was going around everywhere today, so the Health Ministry issued a statement and said currently those figures are unconfirmed/unknown.

that said, there have been documented cases of suicide and of survivors who are still hospitalized for trauma - and one suicide would be too many. that in itself is a tragedy, and they are victims of the massacre too. this wasn't a horrific event that lasted a day, the aftermath and pain is ongoing, and the scars will be permanent.
