The atmosphere smelled of sweat. Bodies were grinding on the dance floor while you hung back with your friends enjoying drinks at the pop-up bar. You felt a tap on your shoulder.

"Hey" said the girl you recognized from your Film class. Amelia Ferguson. She lightly held your arm while smiling at you in a drunked haze.

You smirked. "How can I help you?" Sipping from your beer without taking your eyes off her.

The music was loud to hear her say anything so she got closer — basically semi-leaning on you for support, saying "maybe we could dance... I know you want me"

You raised your eyebrows at this, amused. Before you could even answer, another slightly taller woman yanked her from your space. While she was holding onto Amelia, the bar's neon light illuminated her face.

Beautiful, you thought.

"–aking her home. I'm her mother" you heard the woman say as she scanned your face. You simply nodded in acknowledgment, words failing you at the moment as you observed her. Upon your seeing your nod she dragged Amelia out. You watched as they disappeared behind the exit.

You turn to look at your watch — 2:10am. You finish your beer and excuse yourself from your friends. While walking your car parked out front, you thought about someone. Chuckling to yourself you mumble,

"Looks like I want your mom, Amelia."

You’ve been limp on the shoulder of one of the daughters of Lady Dimitrescu losing track of time and how far you’ve trekked to the castle. The other two girls dissolved into…flies? and went ahead to enter the castle as they neared. Once inside, upside-down you could see the intricate details of the castle. The carved mahogany word, the marble vases, paintings, it all gave you an aristocrat vibe.

“maybe they were from a rich family?” you thought. Suddenly you were dropped on the carpet of a room you didn’t realize you entered in. Groaning from the sudden drop and rough landing on your back, you looked up…..and honestly, you wish you didn’t.

Heart pounding in your ears, you open your mouth to ask what is happening, but the words die in your throat when an inhumane and animal-like scream broke through silence of the house. Ethan suddenly placed a hand on your mouth when both of you hear someone approaching the door to your room.

The door swung open showing Elena covered in blood and soot.
