Can I just say how proud of Ferd(Callmepo) I am? The guy has been going to the gym faithfully 3 times a week with 2 days a week for home weights in the past several months. His body is responding very well to it. What used to take weeks for a back spasm to recover, takes 2-3 days, if that. He didn’t do it for the weight alone because he’s not a vain guy, but for what the weight was doing to his body. I wont list that all here, but we all know what weight gain can keep doing to a body if allowed to persist. With help of diabetic medication his sugar levels are essentially normal. His mood and self esteem have perked up too! What changed between this and the last couple false starts at the gym, is him having a good serious talk with himself and realizing nothing will change unless he wants it to. He says having someone cheer him on helps, but I cheered during the false starts too! So no… this is so different, he actually wants it this time. Good job!
That is true.
She is my personal cheerleader.
You should all get one of your own.
Just a quick question.
When did you start?
I returned to doing serious workout in September 2017 when it turned out I am bordering on obesity.
Fast forward to now - I am 17kg down with 7 more to go.
I didn’t feel as good as I do now in 6 years.
That’s why I work out in the first place - to feel healthy.
Lets keep doing our best!
I started working out about 10 months ago (September if I recall) but for an odd reason.
My friend has a birthday this summer and wanted to have a group of us go on a bicycle tour.
I was terribly out of shape and frankly I did not want to be embarrassed being unable to keep up with everyone. I also had a Planet Fitness membership I had been neglecting for a few years now.
In addition my doctor informed me that my glucose levels was way too high and if I didn’t do something about it I would have to take insulin to control it.
I started with cardio on the treadmill and bike and bought my own starting kettlebell in May to do some crossfit routines at home and eventually at the gym.
I wasn’t intentionally trying to lose weight but the fear of being on insulin for the rest of life motivated me to eat healthier - and that combined with my regular activity had the pleasant side effect of the weight loss.
I don’t officially have a weight loss goal, but I am down 35lbs from what I used to weigh. Glucose levels are back in the safe zone too.
BTW. My friend changed her mind about the bike tour.
