"Acetaminophen toxicity is the second most common cause of liver transplantation worldwide and the most common cause of liver transplantation in the US. It is responsible for 56,000 emergency department visits, 2,600 hospitalizations, and 500 deaths per year in the United States. Fifty percent of these are unintentional overdoses."
"In 2021, 45 people died each day from a prescription opioid overdose, totaling nearly 17,000 deaths. Prescription opioids were involved in nearly 21% of all opioid overdose deaths in 2021."
Tylenol (Acetaminophen/Paracetamol) shouldn't be taken daily, even under the recommended dose, we take things at different times of day and everybody has their own variations in drug metabolism. Accidental overdose or low-level toxicity is easier than it should be in those circumstances, but it's definitely nowhere near as dangerous as opioids. If you're in enough pain to have to take Tylenol pretty often (multiple times a week over 3-6 months +), you should go to a doctor and get a pain relief plan sorted, alongside a medication review.
