I went overboard with this theme when i have other things i need to be drawing T_T I used screencaps from the movie as a ref for many of the sketches. And i realized too late that Lucy might’ve suited shorter hair as Ashitaka, as from what i recall he cut his hair-i think?

Hi, anon! I’ve had a pretty busy weekend so that’s why I haven’t responded 😅

I think haters will say anything to start a fight. NaLu fans outnumber every other ship in the fandom by a large amount. Some of those people commenting on twitter probably aren’t even involved in a fandom and are just normal fans making a justified assumption/statement.

A lot of my friends who are into anime but aren’t involved in fandoms think NaLu is obvious. So, it’s a high possibility people saying things like ‘I love Natsu and Lucy’ or ‘they are so cute together’ isn’t meant as pressure. Mashima knows this. Also, if Mashima bent to harassment he would have amended his drawing style because of the people who keep on about fanservice. He didn’t, he draws what he wants to, it’s his story. 

I don’t agree with anyone being rude or self-entitled in assuming the story should be written to their preferences. There are plenty of people who like fanservice and take it with good humour (as it’s intended) and don’t want him to change the way he does things. That goes for issues in character development and pairings as well, have a little humility that he might have put things in that have been missed - it’s not Mashima’s fault that some people need everything to be pointed out.

Mashima will end the manga how he wants to end it, regardless of what fans do or don’t want. Arguments of who he intended to pair in the beginning are irrelevant. I believe there is an interview where Mashima states he had no plans of pairing any of the characters in the beginning (FT was originally only supposed to be a few volumes long). 

If Mashima pairs Natsu and Lucy together that would be amazing, they are my OTP after all. However, if he did, on the off-chance, pair them with other people (I highly doubt it), I would be disappointed. That doesn’t mean that I would send Mashima lots of hate because that’s childish and immature behaviour. Anyone who sends hate needs to re-evaluate their actions and grow up (yes, it’s harsh but I have no time for this manner of attention seeking).

Confession: I have a friend who likes to text me at like 4am when he’s had nightmares or he can’t sleep or he just needs a friend. He thinks I’m always awake at 4am but really I go to bed around 12am and I change his text-tone to the loudest one I have just so it wakes me up when he needs me.

I think that since its been a year since I made this post its time for an update. In the past year I’ve watched this post grow and grow, people I work with have told me about it as “this post I saw the other day” and they have no idea it’s my post. The person I wrote this about has even reblogged it. He is no longer texting me at 4am. Not because we no longer speak but because the nightmares have stopped. He and I both are in a much better place. Most often the only times he’s waking me up at 4am is when he’s pulling me closer to him while we sleep. He’s more than a friend now and I’m forever thankful to have him. Everyone messaged me saying he was lucky to have me but I think I was just as lucky to have him and I would do it all over.
