TTPD is for the literature lovers, the daydreamers, the delusional romantics who've had their hearts broken one too many times (but have never learnt not to love, hope, and conquer)
i couldn’t have found a normal artist to enjoy it just had to be this freak
I am a terrible combination of “whatever happens, happens” and “If everything doesn’t go according to plan, I will vaporize”
You remember the first day we walked together. You told me about the lovejay, and how it always knows its partner’s song, even if they have been long apart. My heart knows your song, as yours knows mine. And I will always come back to you.
- The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
The stunning, standalone prequel to the New York Times bestselling The Priory of the Orange Tree.
Tunuva Melim is a sister of the Priory. For fifty years, she has trained to slay wyrms – but none have appeared since the Nameless One, and the younger generation is starting to question the Priory’s purpose. To the north, in the Queendom of Inys, Sabran the Ambitious has married the new King of Hróth, narrowly saving both realms from ruin. Their daughter, Glorian, trails in their shadow – exactly where she wants to be. The dragons of the East have slept for centuries. Dumai has spent her life in a Seiikinese mountain temple, trying to wake the gods from their long slumber. Now someone from her mother’s past is coming to upend her fate. When the Dreadmount erupts, bringing with it an age of terror and violence, these women must find the strength to protect humankind from a devastating threat.

Marosa Vetalda, Arteloth 'Loth' Beck & Dranghien Lakseng from The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
Also props to samantha shannon, i have never been straight-baited as much as i have been while reading her books -- the tease of loth/sabran and loth/ead only for the canon ship to be sabran/ead and loth/his damn self, was extremely satistying in 'priory', and now wulf seems to be taking that role in 'day of fallen night' with the will-they-won't-they with glorian..? Though i might be reading this wrong, i still have 18 hours of listening left (WEEP)
me: i'm reading an 800-paged high fantasy novel for the plot.
the plot:
I love the romantic quotes from The Priory of the Orange Tree but when Niclays said, “I loathe you. I loathe every lash of your eyes, every finger on your hands, and every tooth in your mouth. I loathe you to the very marrow of your bones…You cannot fathom the depth of the enmity I have felt for you. I have cursed your name with every sunrise”…that went pretty fucking hard

Barbie IS Anti men. The barbies immediately re-enslave the kens when they take power back. that's not equality.
Ummm did we watch the same movie?
"Enslave" is a pretty heavy term, no?
The entire speech Barbie gives Ken about how he needs to figure out his identity outside of being just Barbie's Ken, already contradicts your point by light years. And the amount of rights they get in the end is the same as women get in real life. And that was the point. As I said in my post as well, if you didn't get that message, you probably don't want to get that message. The fact that you see that as "Anti-men" is hilarious 😂.
Also, my advice to you: don't throw around terms like "en-slave" so easily.
Good day to you!
The Kens in Barbieland get just the same amount of social equality as women in the real world - are you implying that that’s not enough equality, anon?
The irony is just delicious!!
The movie is so cleverly written that any sort of argument in the line of "the movie is anti-men" will backfire 😂😂😂
