Now that they've all settled down in their relationship dynamic, Zayn, Harry and Louis agree it's time for the next step. A new phase in their lives, so to speak. They're having a baby! Or well. That's the plan. As usual for the three of them, nothing goes as planned.

Adjustments have to be made, emotions have to be lived through and discussed and all in all, our three boys need to buckle up for the ride and hope to reach their final destination without major figurative car crashes.

It’s not until Harry is wrapped up in a blanket and Zayn’s arms, with his hands clutching his moth plushie, that Zayn asks.

“What happened?”

He’s got his lips pressed to Harry’s temple, his fingers carding soothingly through his hair, and Harry wishes desperately that he could feel comforted, that Zayn’s love was enough to fill the gaping hole he can feel in his chest.

It’s so stupid. He knows it is. Because Louis was just a boy. Just someone that might’ve been placed on Harry’s path for a while, but that was never guaranteed a stay.

But Harry had wanted him to stay. He’d wanted him, more than he can remember ever wanting anyone before. 

“He left,” he mumbles quietly, wishing that he had the energy to wince at the bitter tone in his voice, but he simply doesn’t. Neither does Zayn, who just holds him a little bit tighter in response to his words. “He left me.”

Sometimes falling in love is taking a leap of faith, jumping into the unknown with your eyes closed, hoping someone will be there to catch you.

Sometimes falling in love is seeing the person in front of you, all their flaws and imperfections, and taking that leap nonetheless.

Sometimes it's both.
