You come across this theme now and then in tokusatsu, and I'm always so happy to see it.

Our hero of the piece, Hayakawa Ken. Oddly spends a lot of time acting villainous, telling people they're not the best at their chosen career, and waiting until the victims have been assaulted just enough to make his grand entrance.

Yet, somehow, he's just a great character.
