Why

YOU SAY WHY. I SAY WHY NOT.

Today was a sad day for pancake-kind as a batch was brutally mutilated into cupcakes

I have so many questions.

So many.

No wonder Prowl’s sick of all his strategic input getting ignored in the current run of comics. Apparently this is a problem that stretches back to ye olde Marvel comics day.

I like to imagine he’s gonna go flip a table after this.

Hi there! I stumbled upon your Tumblr a couple of days ago and was exploring it. I'm quite curious about your Transformers Legacy and Galvatron's Revenge project, especially GR, since there isn't any info on it. If you don't mind, is there anything you can share about either projects without giving any spoilers away?

Certainly! I’d be happy to talk about those project. I’m both surprised and delighted that someone’s showing interest.

Transformers Prime: Galvatron’s Revenge is a collaborative fan project of Prime Animation Studios featuring over 19 artists, modelers, storyboard artists, sound technicians, writers (and more) that span the globe. The movie sits firmly in the Prime universe, continuing where Predacons Rising leaves off and featuring a whole new set of powerful enemies for the Autobots to square off against. Luckily, some familiar faces will be there to lend them a hand.

You can follow the film’s progress here at its thread at TFW2005 and at its facebook page where it regularly releases updates, including rendered models, concept art and turnarounds. The project is still open for anyone who wants to join and contribute, especially voice actors and animators so take a chance, message them with some interest, and show your work. Our lead might just reel you in.

As for me- I joined on with the project after showing my illustrations, but became more active as a storyboard artist when he realized that was my specialty. There isn’t a whole lot of things I can say about the production at this stage, but I can say that I’ve been put on a lot of battle scenes so expect explosions, collateral damage and giant fighting robots (The usual, right?). It’s been an incredible learning experience. One of the scenes I’m working on involves a certain medic. He may be touchy with the paint job, but when all things are said and done, the doc still knows how to rumble.

Transformers Prime : Legacy

Whereas TFP:GR is a group, collaborative effort, Legacy is more of a  personal project being completed in my spare time. So this one I can pretty much talk at length about without consequence lol

Transformers: Prime was more plot-driven, but Legacy is more character-driven. It delves deeply into the histories of Team Prime and some new characters whose histories are rich with storytelling potential. It follows a group of (ex)Decepticons, Wreckers, Autobot allies, Civilians and Vehicons led by Bee and Knock Out as they tentatively agree to work together to banish a new insidious force, as well as clash fantastically over what they believe the future of Cybertron SHOULD be. If they’re lucky, they’ll manage this without killing each other in the process.

The very first episode takes place three years after the end of Transformers : Prime, with Cybertron’s restoration well underway. Unfortunately, a bitter war that spans so many eons is not without consequence. Ghosts from Team Prime’s past not only wreak havoc in the present, but tear the very foundations out from under what they’ve only just started to build.

And when all the dust clears, the Autobots are nowhere to be seen, leaving three very confused children to investigate their whereabouts (though the Rescue bots just might be there to lend a hand!).

’Legacy’ deals with the fiercely ingrained mentalities thousands of thousands of years in the making. It’s about the origins of the Decepticon cause, about Bee’s search for his friends while being saddled with the new responsibilities of Cybertron. It’s about the consequences of Knock Out’s choice to join the Autobots and whether or not that’s a choice worth dying for.

(And this next paragraph pretty much talks about who’s going to be in the series, so uh… skip straight to the next paragraph if you’d rather not know some sort-of-spoilers?) It’s about Slipstream’s deadly feud against these new enemies and the unresolved bitterness toward former allies, Barricade’s search for a new purpose, Jazz and Prowl’s leadership over listless Autobot forces, Orion’s past threatening to dictate his future, Moonracer’s staunchly Autobot mentality conflicting with being on a team with wildly different goals, and finally… it’s about a Vehicon’s adjustment to being on the losing side of a war and what it means for his own future.

… Lastly, Legacy is also just about me wanting to tell a story with my favorite characters (Bee and KO) running into all sorts of silly team shenanigans while trying to get Cybertron’s crap together.

… Hopefully that answered your question?

Yes, thank you so much and for your time in answering it in such depth. It was certainly a lot much more than I expected and I'm so glad I asked the question.

Pokes this tumblr thing. Tries fixing the resizing thing, which worked and then didn't -slinks back into interwebs and leaves alone for another 5 months-

I come bearing gifs. I think this has to be one of my favourite fights from TF:P, if only for the fact that Ultra Magnus is using a hammer to beat the slag out of a robotic dragon.  Wheeljack, on the other hand, decides to use his fists. Because fuck weapons. Dragons need to be punched.
