David wallows and waffles about with his emotions, but comes around eventually. Or, emotional growth is not a painless process.

An AU inspired by the 1966 film How to Steal a Million.

Hot. by sweaters_in_the_summer

David walked outside again, this time mentally prepared for the heat. Fortunately, Stevie pulled up in her rental car within seconds, and David was settled in the air conditioned car before he could burst into flames.

“You okay?” Stevie looked at David with uncharacteristic concern. She was wearing a tank top and shorts - no flannel in sight, which was unusual for her. David pulled gently at the hem of his sweater, raising it up to allow the vents to blow under his shirt. He shuddered as the cold air blasted his damp undershirt.

“Better now. Why didn’t you tell me how fucking hot this place is?” David demanded.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” Stevie replied, sarcastically, “I didn’t tell you that New Orleans was going to be hot in July.”

… … .

Their parents were returning to their previous ways, with a new twist - the annual Christmas parties were always hosted this time by either Alexis or in Schitt’s Creek. This year it was David and Patrick’s, alongside a reluctant Stevie and far-too-excited Rolland, turn to host. What’s more, Johnny wanted to invite his whole family to celebrate the renovation of the Elmdale Rosebud. David got to hear all of this filtered through a chatty and relieved-it-wasn’t-her Alexis. His anxiety spiked but Patrick would be able to help. He was going to be fine.

… … .

Undertow by rosedavid

Patrick Brewer, a lifeguard looking only toward the future, moves to Schitt’s Creek to take a job at their new aquatic center. Meanwhile, Rose Apothecary is struggling to stay afloat, and David Rose will do almost anything to keep it alive a bit longer, even if that involves spending time each week among splashing, screaming children.

A story about the journey of healing and finding solace in others as much as in oneself.

… … .

wip ask game 8 & 16?

I'm super behind on this WIP Ask Game! But thank you for the Q!

8. If you could create an ideal space to work on this WIP, what would that space be like?

It's set in New York and I would love to find a nice spot on the UWS to hang out in and just write. My laptop, a corner table at a quiet bar/coffeeshop, and a nice drink.

16. What are you most excited about with finishing this WIP?

Finishing it! :) I haven't written anything in almost 3 years and I haven't written for this fandom at all. So that's a bit of a perfect nervous storm. But mostly I'm excited to complete the fic.

Back from five days in New York and it’s a strange feeling to love that city but know I’m ok with no longer living there. I miss it. I miss the access to things and my friends and even my office with its stunning view. But I don’t think I can live there full time again.

(I don’t want to stay in my hometown either, tho, so lol 🙃)

That said:

Noah Reid in The Minutes: excellent.

James McAvoy in Cyrano de Bergerac: phenomenal.

The bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel i ate yesterday: delicious.

I get to hang out with my bestie tomorrow in person for the first time since 1/25/20 and I might sob? Which will alarm both of us.

Went to our college town, hiked to the highest point, sat in a clearing and discussed everything and nothing, including our theories for Outer Range.
