The M E T Gala 2020
Monday 4th May 2020
The official Venue for the event is finally here!
Please read carefully the info below:
THE VENUE
The venue is inspired by The real Metropolitan Museum of Arts in Nyc.
You will travel through space and time! Have fun exploring every single inch of it.. you will find many surprises!
@aggressivekitty Created new meshes for this occasion! Check them out, they are great!
HOW TO INSTALL
- 30x20 Lot In San Myshuno; (the central square in the city, originally a gym)
- Remember Moveobjects on before placing the lot;
- The big projection lights in the front could not show up correctly, if that happens please turn them off and on all at once again while pausing the game!
Be careful some of those lights are very close to each others, so you might switch just one if you dont look closer!
- Requires many packs in order to show up correctly. check the image above!
THE RED CARPET
The main red carpet is in front of the venue, you will find 3 backgrounds, the mail one is the central one.
ATTENTION: For the “Best Dressed Award”only picture taken on the central and main background will the taken in consideration. Just to be fair with evryone else, it’s important you all use the same spot to take your pictures, please.
If the lighting is too harsh, feel free to modify the venue and adjust to your taste.
You will have two smaller areas on the sides to make the interviews.
THE EXHIBITION
Now the surprise for you guys!
Like the real Met Gala, Voguesims4 put together a collection of dresses just for you!
Y’all being asking for many of our custom content dresses. Guess what? You will find them ALL AT ONCE, around the Venue.
Find them on the mannequins around the venue!
(Must be honest with you guys, while building this lot I got really emotional..a trip down memory lane! in this first year of our existence!)
ATTENTION: (GET TO WORK is required for the mannequins)
If you do not have it mannequins with the dresses won’t show up , you will have to find the dresses in CAS, sorry about that!).
IMPORTANT
Please don’t post and show around the Venue before the night of the event!
We decide to release it earlier, so you can have some time to take your pictures and make your edits! Give back! :)

It’s that TIME of the year: the most important event within the fashion industry is almost here!
Welcome to the Voguesims4 Met Gala 2020 @ the Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY.
And TIME is the theme the curator Andrew Bolton and Anna Wintour - inspired by the french philosopher Henri Bergson and Virginia Woolf’s poems- has chosen for this year.
2020 also celebrates the 150th Birthday of the Metropolitan Museum.
“About Time: Fashion and Duration”, will pay tribute to fashion over more than a century, from 1870 to now, exploring the concept of time and how fashion defines it, creating unique temporal association from the past, present and future.
“I have always looked to marry silhouettes, techniques, memories, and impressions from the past with the latest technology to create fashion for today that speaks to the future.”-said Bolton during Paris Fashion Week, when the theme was presented- “It got me thinking about fashion’s intimate link to the notion of time, not just because fashion is the perfect mirror of the moment but because it plays such a significant role in shaping our future”.
This exhibition’s starting point, is that this year is the 150th anniversary of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a temporal landmark being celebrated across the museum. The anniversary led to a consideration about the concept of Longevity in Fashion—an art form whose ever-shifting, ephemeral nature makes it an extremely accurate cultural timepiece.
Bolton together with our editor in chief, Anna Wintour, decide to use two characters as time travelers and reference for the event.
French philosopher, Henri Bergson, who as Bolton said “argued that our sense of temporal succession at the present moment, perpetually erased and replaced by the next one, was an illusion.… He contended that time exists as duration—as a continuous flow in which thoughts, feelings, and memories exist together—and that it makes no sense to separate them. There is no time without its duration!
In Bergson’s words, “Duration is a conception of time in which the past coexists with the present.”
The second inspiration for this year event is writer Virginia Woolf, “She was unconvinced that in the end time’s passing could really be slowed, that change could really be stopped”.
Woolf suggests that time is a personal process of the individual’s mind. According to her view, “time exists only within the individual’s mind and constantly flows in uninterrupted successions”
One hour can feel longer or shorter! It’s all in our own mind! Some days feels like we don’t have enough time, sometimes it’s like the day will never end!
Voguesims4 Met Gala, organized by editor in Chief Anna Wintour, will welcome everyone from all sims 4 community! No matter if you are a creator, a simblr user, a simmer or a simstagram personality!

Voguesims’4 TIPS
To avoid you guys all showing up dressed up as a DUCKING clock, here are some tips to help you guys!
1 Understand the Theme
Time. it’s about time! If you want to make it simple, just be inspired by this concept. After all, the main goal is for you to have fun showcasing your interpretation of the theme!
-What does TIME represent to you?
-How do you connect the concept of time and duration with fashion?
-What ICONIC Designer, Silhouette (=the line of a dress, or the garment’s overall shape), trend of an era DEFINES TIME for you?
2 Find a concept
To make it easier for you guys, here are some tips to help you find your concept
Research! Research! Research!
-Read about Virginia Woolf, poems and history;
-Read about Henri Bergso, philosophy and history;
-Look for fashion shows on Youtube (fashion shows from any era- if you look around you can even go back to the 20’s)
-Look for clothes, dresses, accessories, hats, iconic looks on Google Image, Instagram, Pinterest from the 1870 to 2020!
-Movies are a great source for references too!
Finally,
3 Construct your Outfit
You can:
-Find for free cc online; Creativity has no limits!
-Have fun mixing different elements and pieces to create your look!
-You could even take this chance to learn to make some cc yourself!
You can
-Look for creators online who will be willing to create your custom outfit.
Now, you DON’T NEED to spend money for this event!
The point of it is to be accessible for everyone, especially in these times when we need to stay closer to each other!
Creators: Please, don’t be greedy! Not with Voguesims4 events. If you think about profiting off this one, offered for free, Think again.
Real designers are not paid to dress up people at the real Met Gala, as they gain exposure themselves! It is up to you if you want to make it a commission or not, is it your right to be rewarded for your time and work, but c’mon for most of the designers in real world it is really an honor to be even asked to make dresses for an event like this. Take notes.
