I was looking back at some old things and came across this little one shot and remembered how much I loved it and wanted to share for people who may not have read it.

Shameless self rec… But I fall in love with this one shot more every time I re read it. 🥰

It is OKAY to be proud of your work. It is OKAY to boast about your writing. It is OKAY to be your own number one supporter.

THIS! You will always be your first advocate. Long before you get an agent or editor, you have to advocate for your themes, characters, and stories.

Celebrate your work loud and often.

Point out what you love about your work.

Re-read what makes it great.

You'll still battle the occasional perfectionism and self-doubt, but you'll also build a stronger instinct to champion your work.

It's what every writer needs and it's what you deserve.

Attention Someone Special fans: I’ve been working a little here and there recently on the next chapter but I was a little stuck what to do between the wedding and the baby’s birth. I mean, March to November is a long time and I hate big time jumps.

BUT! I was just brainstorming with my Lumione cohort, Ann, aka Astrangefan on AO3 and I literally have goosebumps because we came up with a FABULOUS new plot line. I’m making notes as I work today. Now I just need time to write. Stay tuned!

Oof. Facts though.

I’m gonna hit my head against a wall at how literally unobservant y’all are. (not all of you but a lot of you )

1. Tim is not OOC for falling in love with Lucy. It literally doesn’t take a genius to know if you just watch the damn show that season 1 Tim clearly ISNT WHO HE IS AS A PERSON because we all could CLEARLY see he was in the middle of LOSING HIS WIFE TO DRUGS. He was in the middle of his darkest days. In the middle of a trauma. - SEASON 👏🏽 1 👏🏽 TIM 👏🏽 WAS 👏🏽 NEVER 👏🏽 WHO 👏🏽 THAT 👏🏽 MAN 👏🏽 WAS. - We haven’t seen Tim “truly happy” until now in the series. His other girlfriends were distractions if anything. He hasn’t been in love since Isabel. - and again, every adult knows how truly falling in love changes you. If it’s healthy, good love, it softens your heart, it makes you feel lighter, it makes you feel accepted & loveable (and for someone like Tim who was raised severely love deprived) it brings you back to who you truly are at your core. And Tim deserves that. He deserves to be loved & in love. When you find the kinda love & you are loved properly, it brings you back to the person you truly are and were meant to be. Everybody who understands true love knows this, so if you’re one of the people who doesn’t & keeps saying he’s acting “ooc”, just say you don’t understand real life love & keep it pushin. Just say that.

ps. Furthermore in the sneak peak for tonight’s episode we see of Tim & Celina, you can clearly see Tim’s personality of a semi-annoyed hardass is still prevalent with others. He’s just more soft & caring with Lucy, THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE, and he freaking deserves that. Tim Bradford freaking deserves to experience truly being loved & dotting on the one who makes that happen for him. - so y’all can stfu & let him have this.

2. “Lucy has a praise kink”. I mean this in the nicest way possible ; please stop. - Wanting to be acknowledged & complimented is not a kink, it’s called a love language. Words Of Affirmation. - I get we live in a hyper sexual society where everyone has to turn everything sexual but human observation should be able to put 2 & 2 together ( again just by watching the show) that Lucy was raised in a household where she was constantly told she wasn’t good enough, that she was a failure, a disappointment. - so she constantly needs validation bc w/o it, she takes that as she’s not doing good enough, or she’s failing. It’s actually really SAD when you think about it. - It’s not a kink. It’s a love language born out of childhood trauma.

3. Lastly, y’all mention Lucy’s “absurd amount of candles” every time there’s a scene with Lucy & Tim at her apartment but I guess y’all fail to clock every. other. time we’ve seen Lucy’s apartment at night; the girl ALWAYS , and I quite literally mean always, has candles and a dim light ambience going in her apartment. Literally. Every. Time.

Okay, rant over. I look forward to tonight’s episode. 

I agree with all of this. Maybe people who have watched week to week don’t notice these things because they’re thinking about other things in between eps and then the summer hiatuses but as someone who has binged on the entire series in the last six weeks, I definitely saw all of these things. Tim is a big old softie who hides it behind a crusty exterior. He wouldn’t be as good of an instructor and cop if he was hard all the way through. Just like I think Nolan is sometimes too nice all the time. But that’s for another conversation. 😁
