Season 3 Episode 3, “His Last Vow”

There is some Lestrade in this episode! Not much, but some key moments. By the time he first showed up, past the halfway mark, I was beginning to wonder.

47:11 - 47:51 John walks Greg into seeing Sherlock in the hospital, where they discover he’s gone out the window. Lestrade gets information on his boltholes from Mycroft, who then waves him off in the characters’ first actual scene together in the series. (Nine episodes in, but who’s counting?)

48:16 - 48:44 Greg, Mrs. Hudson, and John are in 221b, where they discuss who Sherlock would be protecting, and John notices his chair is back. Greg tells John not to hold out on him, but John does it anyway, playing along with Sherlock’s scheme to confront Mary. (You’d think a doctor would be more concerned about getting his friend, recovering from gunshot and death, back into hospital instead of agreeing to pretend to be a dummy, but John’s ridiculous contrasts are why we love him.)

1:30:50 - 1:31:08 Lestrade, in a fetching brown jacket, is watching football in a pub when the broadcast is interrupted by an image of Moriarty.
