Commission Details:

I am opening up commissions, and offering some new options that I’m very excited about: 

$5 - I will design and draw out a sigil for you based on a word, phrase, or short explanation of your choosing. It will be posted on tumblr/instagram or sent to you privately by message if requested. This can be a single sigil and/or include runes and other magical symbols or glyphs. (see below for design examples)

$30 - I will illustrate your sigil using gold or silver ink on 8” x 10” black paper, and shipped to you within the continental United States. Outside the US: $35. Other ink/paper color combinations are possible by request. Example:

$10 - Any of my individual linoprints that range between 3” and 6” mailed to you within the continental United States. Outside the US: $13. Example:

$200 - A mixed media portrait on approximately 6” x 9” stretched canvas (printed paper, marker, pen, pencil). Shipped within the continental United States. Outside the US subject to additional shipping charges. Example:

For portraits of specific individuals or characters, please share clear reference images so I can create a good likeness.

Listen, I completely understand why everyone is furious with me. You don’t think that I know there are disgusting, reprehensible, dangerous things coming out of my mouth at all times? That my vile, indefensible words seek only to shelter the nation’s newly installed administration from the slightest shred of accountability? And that I’ve done it all with a self-righteous arrogance that suggests outright contempt for the truth and our nation’s founding principles? Of course I do. I have behaved in ways that defy not only logic and common sense, but also basic human decency. And, deservedly, I have been shamed and criticized and insulted for these actions.

But answer me truthfully: Who among you wouldn’t do the same exact thing if an evil 400-year-old witch had trapped your father’s eternal soul inside a cursed iron lantern, flickering faintly each time his agonized moans escaped the murky, otherworldly ether that is his prison?

If your job can be taken by a hypothetical unskilled, non-English-speaking illegal immigrant or outsourced worker, I’m going to give you some bad advice.

I’m going to give you the same bad advice you gave millennials: stop whining, you’re not entitled to anything and nobody owes you a job.

I’m going to give you the same bad advice you gave minimum wage workers: stop being lazy. Get a skill. work harder and you’ll move up.

I’m going to give you the same bad advice you gave sexual assault victims: you should have made better choices and this wouldn’t have happened to you.

And when you find that this advice is not helpful or even true, then instead of attacking your fellow worker, the one who’s willing to work for less than a legal wage to feed his family, maybe you should go after the structures of power that allow and incentivize your employer’s choice to relocate your job.

This is amazing

This is great, but.

Don’t buy into the narrative that jobs are disappearing because of outsourcing. They’re not. 85% of the jobs that have disappeared didn’t go to another country; they ceased to exist because of automation. Productivity per worker is soaring, and businesses therefore don’t need to pay as many workers to produce more product (and more profit) than ever.

Your job is not disappearing because your bosses gave it to an immigrant. It’s not disappearing because your bosses gave it to someone in another country. It’s disappearing because there’s less work that needs doing, and your bosses have screwed things so badly in their favor that instead of that meaning everyone gets more free time without any reduction in standard of living, instead it means they get richer than ever and you get fucked.
