Thank you! Everyone’s like, “I had high expectations” and I’m getting like, “Yikes!”
I forgot to detail the update schedule, so pardons! I’m planning on doing weekly updates of 2-3 chapters, on Fridays. There are only 14 chapters in this one (I told AO3 it had 14 chapters, but it still has the “?” in the chapters field, but whatever…AO3 is still new territory for me, and that’s a lot of what @the-winnowing-wind helped me with). It’s fully written already; you don’t have to worry about it being abandoned, unless I get killed or severely injured or a major disease in the next few weeks. (We’ll hope not.) I intend on continuing to do illustrations for the chapter releases, so the interim will give me time to do those, but if I don’t get one done on time, that’s not going to hold up release.
I may make an exception for the last two chapters because I want the end of Chapter 13 to sit with people for a bit before they go on. When I gave it to my husband to read, he blasted straight through to 14 and kind of skipped over it, but when I asked him to think about it, he had the reaction I wanted, so…. But I also don’t want people to pause too long there either, so I’m thinking on that last weekend I’ll do 13 on a Friday and 14 on Sunday morning.

For all my die-hard Zuko fans out there, here's an in-depth chat I had with Dallas Liu about all things Zuko!!! His answers are REALLY good!!!

I think it’s really wonderful that they did try not to age up Avatar: The Last Airbender and kind of kept it youthful, but also intense. I think it’s actually much darker than the cartoon version. Seeing Zuko literally burn that was, I was like, “Oh, okay, here we are.”
Liu: Oh my gosh. Seeing that episode, you’re actually so tense. Your body is tense watching it. And there was this small moment that I loved, that I added that felt almost necessary for Zuko. But in our fight, if you really watch it before he gets his eye burned, he puts his hand on Ozai’s heart specifically. It’s a very small detail. But I thought it was so necessary that we put that in, just to show [their connection.] When he puts his hand on his heart, Ozai holds it. And I was like, “Dude, you are…!!” Such an insane moment for everyone to see. Because we didn’t get to see anything at all before. I think that was a very touching moment for just Zuko.
