Moira O'Hara | 24 | Dead | Open

Moira has been the housekeeper for the murder house for a long time. While still alive, she once had sex with Constance's husband, Hugo, due to "feeling lonely". When he made another advance towards her, she refused him, saying that what they did was a mistake. In 1983, not happy with being denied, Hugo forced himself on Moira and attempted to rape her, only to be caught in the act by Constance, who shot them both to death.

Benjamin "Ben" Harmon | 45 | Dead | Open

Ben Harmon lived in Boston, Massachusetts with his wife Vivien and daughter Violet, he worked as a psychiatrist. After Vivien had a miscarriage, he as well as his wife fell into a grieving state that led to Ben cheating on his wife with his student at the time, Hayden McClaine, impregnating her. In an attempt to save their marriage, they packed up and moved to Los Angeles to start over. He went back to Boston later on after the big move, to aid Hayden in having an abortion.

Ben has said to Tate that his childhood was very difficult. He was headed towards a path of destruction and would have never thought to be able to study and become a doctor/psychiatrist.

Ben is calm and controlled for the most part. He is actively trying to repair his relationship with his wife. Despite the fact that he constantly screws things up with his family, he is shown to truly care about keeping his family together.

Hayden McClaine | 21 | Dead | Open

Hayden was one of Ben Harmon's students in Boston. Ben sought comfort in Hayden after Vivien miscarried and became distant. Vivian discovered the affair and in an attempt by Ben to "start over" with his family, he ended things between him and Hayden, and moved his family into the Murder House in Los Angeles. As a result of their liaisons, Hayden became pregnant with Ben's child. She has shown to be emotionally unstable and vindictive, being very easily angered.

Constance Langdon | 61 | Alive | Open

Constance was born and raised in Virginia, but moved to Los Angeles to become an actress. After objecting to the nudity that was flooding the film industry at the time, her dreams of becoming an actress fell to the wayside. In 1983, she murdered both her husband, Hugo, and Moira O'Hara (with whom Hugo has cheated with once before) after catching them about to have sex, believing they were having an affair, when in reality, Hugo was trying to rape Moira (who tried to refuse his advances).

Mother to Tate, Adelaide and Beauregard Langdon. She is also the grandmother of Michael, but adopted him as her own child to protect him from the malicious spirits which reside in the Murder House.

Violet Harmon | 15 | Dead | Open

Violet is a pretty, clever, sarcastic and somewhat moody teenager. She was described by her mother as "fearless", and she seems to be very brave. When faced with a frightening situation, she remains composed and her sarcasm never falters. Violet is a bit of a loner and doesn't seem to fit in with her peers. She seems to have little to no respect for her father due to his affair. She is also rude to her mother, but expresses her concerns. Despite her bold demeanor, she is mildly depressed and copes with it by cutting herself with her father's razor in the upstairs bathroom. After encountering all of the ghosts in the house, she breaks down and overdoses on pills.

Tate Langdon | 17 | Dead | Open

Tate has a very grunge like appearance. His disposition is primarily solemn and weary, in life he probably hardly slept as is evident by the distinct bags under his eyes. There is tension between him and his mother, Constance. He even admits to her that he hates her. His hatred for his mother was born out of her negligent parenting and the verbal abuse she constantly hurled at him as a child in her drunken alcoholic rages. Tate gives off the impression that he is oblivious to his current state of existence to those not familiar with his past. When often asked why he is still in the house or how he knows the layout so well, he often hesitates before answering. This could mean that he is confused and does not know why himself or he knows and chooses to lie since his answers for the most part, to the viewers, are in fact not true. It is later revealed that he is aware he is a ghost, and had kept this a secret because he was afraid of how Violet would react.

Plot

Three years have transpired since the tragic deaths of the Harmon family within the murder house. They have been adjusting relatively well despite the nature of their new unlives but things are still difficult. The real estate agent, Marcy, is still trying to sell the house, but it seems with each buyer, they are running for the hills within a few days. The Harmons are determined to keep people out in order to protect them from the fates they’ve been handed. However, a new family has arrived, and the father is a bit more headstrong than the others. It’s been weeks and despite the typical scares, they still haven’t vacated. Worried for their well-being, the spirits of the house must team together in order to get them out, before the more malevolent spirits decide it’s time to take their pound of flesh.
