Can you write a fluff Benedict Bridgerton request where Lady Whistledown decides to publish a lie that the reader (a close Bridgerton family friend) is engaged in order to get Benedict to admit the feelings he’s harbored since their teens for her despite his family’s meddling?

Lady Whistledown Knows Best

Warnings- If you have mommy issues this will make you sad because your mom comforts you in this... so good luck with that lol.

Pronouns- They/Them

Word Count- 911

Summary- Lady Whistledown publishes a not so true congratulations to a not engaged reader that sends the ton into a frenzy.

Could you do a Benedict Bridgerton request where Eloise lets it accidentally slip about Benedict’s old relationship with Madame Delacroix to the reader (who’s Benedict liked since they were children) leading to the siblings needing to do damage control when she begins to acts indifferent to him?

A/N: Now this is very cute! Thank you for this request, Anon!

Swear

Summary: Eloise was never good in keeping her mouth shut, especially when it came to love.

Warnings: A hint of Angst but mostly Fluff

“How could you?!”

“Eloise what made you think to do such a thing?!”

“It slipped out, I promise!”

“Not on purpose I take it?”

“Oh hush, Colin!”

Eloise hung her head in her hands as she was surrounded by her elder siblings, apart from Benedict.  He was gone for the afternoon, having some affairs taking care of and not realizing that snowball of emotions that Eloise started three days prior.

They were all in shock from the news that she told her brothers and sisters that included yourself Benedict and a Madam Delacroix.  Eloise was simply making conversation with you three days ago, the pair of you walking together with linked arms amongst the gardens to get some fresh air in your lungs from the recent heat wave.  Eloise considered you a great friend, apart from Penelope of course, and she would confide in your with everything and anything.

Yet the last thing she thought she would do was tell you about Benedict and Delacroix and their own rendezvous together that happened months prior, a secret that was blown out of proportions.

Eloise only assumed that you and Benedict being cordial with one another, your families growing up knowing each other and you and Benedict have played together since you were babes.  You two would play constantly, you tagging along with the boys and trying to keep up with them, being thick as thieves with all of the elder Bridgerton.  Benedict most of all, the pair of you always laughing and talking together with ease.  There were even those who would assume you and Benedict would be together as you got older.  Even Anthony and the other siblings were making bets behind your backs to see if you and Benedict would admit your feelings to one another.

But it never happened.

Now that Eloise did let the cat of the bag with the old relationship between Delacroix and Benedict, you weren’t showing up to the house for social gatherings anymore.  In fact, you were avoiding the family all together, perhaps drinking in the news that your friend told you and making you feel rather alpine in comparison.  Madam Delacroix was a beautiful woman, of course eyes would linger to her and you had no reason to deny her beauty in comparison to you.  You were more plain, which there was nothing wrong with that, but now that comparison was eating you alive.

Not to mention your feelings for Benedict that to have had for years.

His daring nature, artistic eye for creativity and the arts, his laugh that seemed to bring you joy on dire days, and his handsome stare he would give you when you thought he wasn’t watching you.  It was all rolled into one with him, and to think he seemed so close for you to touch, to express how to feel.

Yet now, now you felt yourself unworthy of him.

You never knew that Benedict was rather hurt and conflicted when you stopped reaching out to talk to him, or when you are avoiding him when he would walk into the room, even your gentle smile not appearing on your face anymore.  It made Benedict wonder if he did something to offend you, if he said the wrong thing or overstepped. You never knew the feelings he had for you as well, how he wished he was brave enough to tell you how he has felt strong feelings outwards you since your first coming out event some years ago.

You both were in the dark about one another, and it might have been too late.

“We need to fix this, swiftly and with no delay” Daphne said in determination as she was pacing back and forth in front of the roaring fire.  The other were watching her think, the ever thoughtful scowl on her brow was evident enough that she was hatching a plan in her mind, “Perhaps we can invite her for dinner, explain how it was a misunderstanding,”

“She won’t respond to any of my letters to her,” Eloise explained in a groan, “I’ve tried plenty of times!”

“Well I wouldn’t answer you either if you let slip that kind of information,” Colin snorted at his sister, dodging a throw pillow that was chucked at him by Eloise a second later.

“Perhaps we can talk to Benedict and see how he feels about it, maybe he doesn’t know what happened,” Anthony reasoned with Daphne as she shook her head.

“We don’t need to bring him more into this and find out about what was told to her,” Daphne countered back, “No, I’ll go talk to her at once and try to smooth out the situation.  Join me, Anthony, won’t you?”

“What, what about me?” Colin asked as Anthony rushed over to get his traveling cloak ready.  Daphne could only glare at him as she pointed one finger in his direction.

“You and Eloise shall stay here!  Eloise, merely because of the situation she has made because of her loose tongue,” Daphne said in a control tone, Eloise grumbling into another throw pillow next to her as Daphne looked then over to Colin, “And you…..because who knows that will come out of your mouth,”

“Daphne?” Anthony called out to her as he was looking out of the window intensely, Daphne’s head whipping over to him now as he pointed in the direction of the window, “I don’t think we need to go over to her home.  She’s here,”

All of the siblings scrambled over to the window, Colin nearly tripping over his feet as the four fo them hovered near the window.  Of course, they were ducking out of the way to be out of sight, for they saw you and Benedict walking side by side along the lawns right outside the home, looking deep in an intense conversation and focusing on one another.

“You suppose they are talking about it?” Eloise asked, sounding rather hopeful.

“I should hope so,” Anthony replied, “They look civil with one another.  Perhaps it’s a good talk,”

“Either way, I do hope they can come to an agreement about their feelings for one another,” Daphne explained.  The rest of the siblings were watching in both intrigue and fascination, not being able to hear what was going on and only relying on what was seen.  Perhaps there was still hope for you two to get together, no matter the sticky situation that Eloise made.

They could only hope and pray.

“Thank you for agreeing to come see me,” Benedict said to you as you walked side by side along the pebbled path, “I was hoping to speak to you for the past few days, since it feels like….you’re avoiding me,”

“That seems to be the case,” You agreed, feeling rather foolish when you confessed that to him, “I had to clear my mind and not bring any kind fo discomfort to you if we were to meet—“

Benedict placed his hadn’t on your arm to stop you both from talking and from walking, you both freezing in your spot as he stared at him kindly with a hint of concern.  You felt your breath being lost for a moment from being so close to him, trying to contain yourself since you were still thinking about what Eloise told you and that deadly comparison that was going on in your head.

“You could never bring me discomfort,” He swore to you, “It is I that feels as thought I brought you discomfort,”

“Oh, never!  You have been nothing but coridal and the upmost gentleman to me, Benedict,” You reassured him in earnest, sighing in defeat as you spoke again, “It’s just…..I had a talk with Eloise the other day and she….she told me about your brief relationship with Madame Delacroix some time ago,”

You saw the look of shock on his face as you were telling him the situation.  Of course it was out in the open, and you were immensely afraid of his reaction and how he would think.  It was also he first time you were expressing your romantic feelings towards him, such a leap of faith you were always too scared to take.

“Now it is not of my concern of what you wish to do with your personal life, and nor is my life your concern,” You explained your words tumbling out of your mouth before you could stop yourself, “However, I cannot help but compare myself to her when it comes to….attraction amongst other things.  I simply don’t find myself at the same caliber as her—“

Benedict stood right in front of you to stop talking, leaning down to be so close to your lips and nose as your mouth was frozen.  Your mind went blank as he pressed his lips to yours.

It was so soft, the softest of a feather kiss that seemed too good to be true and too pure for this situation.  You were stiff as a board, not knowing what else to do but have your eyes slip close and feel his hands touching your fingers to hopefully keep you from running,  How could you?  Being able to finally kiss the Bridgerton son that still your heart for so many years, to feel how he held your hand as if you were a long lost lover.

It was all happening, and you were enjoying every moment of it.

He pulled away, not too far for you to feel his presence leave you.  he in fact stayed so close, your fronts nearly touching as you opened your eyes to meet his own.  They were soft, his orbs were looking down at you with fondness and pure love as he took in a long breath.

“I would consider myself a fool for not expressing how I have felt about you for the last few years,” he admitted softly, his voice sounding raw and vulnerable as he searched your eyes, “Ever since you had your coming out ball, I only had eyes for you. Perhaps before, when I saw the beautiful soul that matched your outward beauty.  What happened with Madame Delacroix was brief and nothing for me to remember.  I can only picture myself to be with one woman and that is you,”

“Me?” You gasped in unbelief, though a grin was on your face from hearing the news.  Benedict nodded with his own smile, you both grinning like fools out in the open.

“Only you, I swear on my honor and my family name,” He proclaimed.

“What a massive thing to say and swear on, Benedict,” You commented, hearing him chuckle as he move to cradle your face with one of his hands and you held his other hand for dear life, “Though I don’t wish for you to swear on your family name,”

“What shall I swear on then to show you I only have love for you?” He asked in curiosity, sounding a bit desperate. You shook your head, finding it to be too much for him to do such an action.  Just the notion of him loving you all these years, kissing you and sealing your fate to him, was more than enough for you.  You were no longer thinking about his past with Delacroix, or even the pitting feeling that he would not be with someone like you.  On the contrary, you were merely grateful that you both were in love with one another, and the love felt so powerful and pure at the same time.

“Nothing at all,” You hummed in a reply, moving to go back and kiss him again.  This time, his arms around your waist to not let you go and yours around his neck to lace in his dark locks.

“Good heavens!” Colin said in a gasp, the rest of his siblings watching you and Benedict kiss each other soundly along the path.  Anthony and Daphne were grinning from ear to ear, Eloise was pepped in excitement, and Colin just looked shocked to se his brother kissing one of his childhood friends.  Daphne, looking rather smug as she stood back up again with her hands on her hips, gave a look to her siblings who were still watching in amazement.

“Let’s leave them be, shall we?” She asked, the others reluctantly tearing their eyes away, “And Eloise, let this be a lesson for you to not blab anymore,”

Eloise would remember it, especially on your wedding day and jokingly say that she was the one who brought the pair of you together.

The End.

Moments: Chapter 9

Pairing: benedict bridgerton x fem!reader

Summary: Slow-burn fic. Follow on to No Good Advice probably best to read that first. Read previous chapters of this fic from masterpost here. In this chapter, Benedict makes 2 proposals!

Word Count: 2.2k (this chapter only, 14.4k total for all chapters to date)

Warnings: None…. fluff, fluff, flirting, kissing.

Authors Note: Here be the penultimate chapter in the adventures of James Darby and his parents. I thought I should release just this single chapter now, as a few people seem to be enjoying this story. There will be chapter 10 which may be quite long then 2 epilogues to follow. Thanks as ever to @makaylan for her fantastic betaing and advice. Could not have done this without you lady <3

Chapter 9: Moments from a long walk

Over the next few days, life is a wonderful lazy summer sojourn, filled with family picnics, spirited outdoor games and watching Benedict and James paint together and grow closer. James has missed a father figure after years with John, and watching him naturally bond with Benedict has made your heart soar. As you put him to bed the previous night, James asked if Benedict could move in with you both, and you cried a little after kissing him goodnight. Your moments around Benedict have become increasingly charged with an energy you feel humming over your skin. The way he looks at you, the stolen glances, it’s agonising and fantastic all at the same time.

PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS

Look, I didn’t want to be a half-blood. Being a half-blood is dangerous. It’s scary. Most of the time, it gets you killed. If you think you might be one of us, my advice is to turn away while you still can. Believe whatever lie your mom or dad told you about your birth. Try to live a normal life. Because once you know what you are, they’ll sense it too. And they’ll come for you. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

i’m sorry but it kind of pisses me off when people always hyper focus on superficial things when it comes to adaptations. like we’ve seen it with both the little mermaid and percy jackson. people complaining about ariel not having bright red hair and people complaining about annabeth not being blonde (and we know you guys really don’t like them because they’re black, stop lying) along with constant complaints about percy not having black hair and green eyes…. y’all are just so aggravating like WHO CARES?????? We want actors who can portray the characters well and understand the source material, not someone who fits the character description physically but can’t act to save their life or has no passion for the source material. please grow up and realize no actor will ever fit your vision entirely because these are FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. No perfect real life equivalent exists because THESE ARE NOT REAL PEOPLE. GIVE IT UP.

Exactly. The most important part in a book-screen adaption is the script anyways without a good script the whole project can fall. As long as they can act good it shouldn’t matter. Both actresses will do amazing in there roles and physical looks shouldn’t matter.

Hey could I request something for your September Prompt for Benedict Bridgerton

“Thunderstorm” & “come on under the covers with me”

A/N: This is far too cute for our Benny! Thanks for the request, Anon!

Stormy Morning

Summary: You and Benedict enjoy a stormy morning the best way you know how: in bed and wrapped in each others arms

Warnings: Just some fluff :)

"This storm looks worse than the one last night,"

You were watching the storm outside your cottage, seeing the rain pounding on the window in front of you and giving the room an entire chill The rolling clouds above you were not letting up anytime soon, the thunderclaps not too far away were coming closer as the minutes came and went. You only shivered, bringing your robe closer to yoru chest since you are able underneath.

Neither yourself or Benedict would predict a thunderstorm and massive rainfall on your anniversary.

Benedict whisked you away on your third anniversary, claiming the pair of you needed some time together and away from your duties. So he took you to a cottage his family has owned for decades, the very place you stayed in for your honeymoon. The small space, via growing along the walls and the honeysuckles growing outside the world, it was the perfect place to be away from the rest of the world and with his husband.

Even in the pouring rain.

Hey could I get something where the reader is Anthony best friend but Benedict is in love with her and a bit jealous/insecure

A/N: This is an interesting request, anon! Thanks for the request though!

Portrait

Summary: Benedict doesn't know how to tell his brother's best friend he's in love with her So he doesn't. He draws instead

Warnings: A HINT of Angst but most fluffy fluff!

"If you scowl long enough, you'll get wrinkles before you should, dear brother,"

Benedict and looked over at Eloise, seeing her smirk at him with her book tucked under her arm. He was about to start as rebutual at her when he heard a chorus of laughter in front of him. Both Benedict and Eloise looked, seeing you and Anthony laughing together with massive grins and relaxed shoulders. Even the way that Anthony was leaning against you and you were trying not to snort from a joke he told you made Benedict sigh.

And inwardly jealous.

He had feelings for you for years, ever since you came out at the beginning of the Season and caught some of the attention of the other bachelors that were in attendance. Of course, she did catch Benedict's eye when she walked in on her older brother's arm. The way you hair shined under the chandelier, the softness of your skin in contrast to your dark green dress that your mother picked out for the evening, it made his heart stop for a moment as you saw him and timidly wave.

I adored this ❤️

ope there goes gravity

a/n: snap back to reality, ope there goes gravity When I tell you I've wanted to re-write this scene yet it's Bridgerton!sis who falls off since 2021

summary: Y/N Bridgerton was not in the gardens at the Trowbridge Ball. She had no idea of what transpired. Yet, somehow, she ends up in the middle of a duel, in an empty park, at dawn. And it's all Daphne's fault.

Bridgerton House was quiet.

Most of the staff had gone to bed - only Humboldt and Mrs Wilson remained awake, awaiting the return of those in attendance at the Trowbridge Ball.

Y/N Bridgerton - the sixth youngest in the Bridgerton family - was fast asleep in her bed, blankets tucked around her, candle gently flickering in the draft.

As much as she longed for the days when she could spend more time with her elder brothers and dance the night away, she was never a night owl. Y/N was almost always in bed before nine and asleep by eleven.

Everything was quiet in Bridgerton House. Except for a gentle yet frantic knocking on Y/N's bedroom door. It was just loud enough for the young girl to hear and she blearily blinked awake, half wondering if something miraculous had happened at the ball that Daphne simply could not wait to tell her about.

"Yes, I'm coming," Y/N muttered, sliding out of bed and grabbing her shawl. She wrapped her shawl around her as she opened her bedroom door, staring in surprise at the dishevelled state of her eldest sister.

"Daff, what -"

"Anthony is to duel Simon at dawn," Daphne announced, marching into Y/N's bedroom.

Hey could I request something for Benedict x reader where they were childhood friends but she moved away but now she’s back and Benedict is madly in love with her as soon as he sees her

A/N- So sorry this took so long just finished moving so requests should be coming out much faster now :)

Warning- None

Pronouns- She/Her

Word Count- 1,036

Summary- After leaving London for many years you return to London for the season and reunite with your childhood best friend.

Reunions

It was hard leaving London as a child it felt like I was leaving everything I knew but for some reason leaving the states felt like nothing. Of course, the journey back to London was extremely draining. However, I was filled with immense joy it felt coming back home.

It was actually my Mother’s decision for us to come back for the season so I could hopefully find a rich suitor. The idea of marrying someone for their wealth makes me want to vomit, but I’d do anything to return to London.

I could not wait to see Benedict hopefully he will show me all his new art he was always the best at such a young age. I wonder how much Eloise has grown hopefully her temper has mellowed but I doubt it. I smile at the thought when my Mother interrupts my pondering.

“We are here Y/N. Please change into the dress I prepared for you we are meeting Violet at the seamstress she recommended. We need to have my princess looking radiant for the season. Maybe you will even be the diamond imagine how many suitors you could gather then.” My Mother gushes.

I jump up shaking the carriage “Will Benedict be at the seamstress!”

My Mother sighs, “I do not know darling but you most certainly will not become the diamond this season if you continue your wild outbursts. You must remain poised and calm. No man will handle your wild attitude.”

I roll my eyes and exit the carriage but before I can make it into the house I hear my Mother yell. “Do not think I did not notice you rolling your eyes!”

In retaliation, I slam the door and run up to my old room. I throw myself onto my bed and sigh. Why does one have to marry for money and success? I just want love is that too much to ask for?

Shortly after my public fight with Mother, there was a knock on my door. I begrudgingly got out of bed and answered. I smile widely it was my childhood maid she was my favorite she always snuck me and Benedict treats before dinner.

“I see your attitude hasn’t changed Y/N. You really have to cut Lady L/N a break she is just trying to take care of you.” She shakes her head at me.

I sigh and cross my arms “She wants me to change my whole personality to find a rich man but if a man can not handle my so-called “attitude” then he does not deserve me.”

My maid smiles “That’s my girl. Now let us get you ready for the seamstress.”

I got ready fairly fast since I was so excited to see Violet. She treated me like I was just another Bridgerton I can not count how many times I slept over.

I finished getting ready before my Mother so I ended up waiting for her in the carriage for a while. The ride to the seamstress was very awkward. We sat in silence the whole ride there which is pretty typical after our fights. We have never seen quite eye to eye. Even as a kid she always asked why I could not be like Daphne. It upset me but Benedict always thought it was better that I was not so obsessed with finding a husband. It was amazing when Eloise got older and became my partner in crime, I hope it is that way again.

As we pull in the carriage I can already hear Eloise whining “Why must I get a new dress when I am not even participating in this season.”

I jump out of the carriage before it even reaches a full stop and I can immediately hear my Mother yelling but I completely ignore her and pick up Eloise and spin her around.

‘You have grown so much!” I shout in shock and Violet laughs.

“Still as loud as ever Y/N” Violet smiles.

“You know it” I smile back.

I hear the door to the seamstress creak open followed by a voice I would recognize anywhere.

“Eloise you better get inside before Anthony has a meltdown about you ruining Daphne’s busy schedule.

I smile and laugh “Benedict it is so good to see you. You look like a grown man now it is strange.”

Benedict seemed shocked by my presence and he immediately straightened his posture.

“Y/N I must say you have grown into a sophisticated woman.”

I roll my eyes at Benedict’s comment “You should tell that to my Mother she still thinks I am a rambunctious scoundrel.”

“I believe surely you still are because you would not be you without your wild side,” benedict laughs.

Anthony suddenly bursts through the door pushing Benedict aside. “What on God's green earth is taking you all so long? I knew it would be trouble when Y/N returned for the season.”

Benedict quickly interrupts Anthony “Wait you are participating in the season Y/N?”

“Yes, I sadly am. Mother wants me to find some rich fellow and marry him. The idea of marrying someone for purely money makes the whole ordeal feel gross. As you know though what Mother wants Mother gets.” I reply sadly.

“Well lucky for you we shall both be participating in this season so we will suffer together.” Benedict quickly replies.

“Wait Benedict you're not partipa-” Eloise starts to talk but is quickly cut off by Benedict slapping his hand over her mouth.

“Come on Eloise no more complaining let us get fitted,” He says shoving Eloise into the seamstress.

Anthony points a finger at me once Benedict is out of sight. “If you and Benedict ruin Daphne’s season with your crazy antics you will pay.” He shakes his head and mumbles, “Benedict had to go join the season and ruin the schedule just because of his silly childhood crush on you.”

I smile, “Benedict had a crush on me?”

“Had you mean still has he was not even in the season until you arrived. Do not tell me you never noticed. You two are clueless.” Anthony shakes his head and heads into the seamstress.

Maybe the season won’t be so bad after all.

Foolish Endeavor - Part 6

Benedict Bridgerton x Reader

Summary: Summer in Kent, a beautiful time indeed. With his new courtship with the earl’s daughter flourishing with the weather, it was hard to get any semblance of alone time with her–he’d have to get creative.

Word Count: 6.2k

Warnings: fluff, mentions of non-sexual nudity, Benedict takes a bath, things get messy

A/N: sorry for the wait, lovelies! work has been kicking my booty, but rest assured that I haven’t forgotten about these two lovebirds!

last part - next part

__

For once in his life, Benedict Bridgerton was completely and utterly happy. His studies were going well—the academy had become a second home of sorts to him of late—his family was growing to be more enjoyable to be around with each passing day, and, last but certainly not least, he had begun courting the ever enchanting Lady (Y/N) (Y/L/N). Ever since the eve of the Kent Ball, their relationship had spun wildly on its axis, flipping from a very content friendship into a burning courtship all in the span of twelve hours, all thanks to the one singular kiss that had meant everything.

Well, two kisses that meant everything.

Benedict was true to his word and called upon Lady (Y/L/N) first thing in the morning, bringing her favorite flowers upon her request, sharing his intentions to court her with her mother present. The earl found his way into the drawing room to consent to their courtship somewhere between the ecstatic screams from his wife and the laughter of his daughter. The Earl of Kent was more than pleased at the arrangement, noting Benedict only in the highest regard. He was Edmund’s son, after all, and Theodore (Y/L/N) cared deeply for his late mate from school, adored each of his eight children. Naturally, the match made perfect sense in his eyes.

It wasn’t long for the two to be with each other nearly every day of the week, whether it be promenading around the park, enjoying a quiet afternoon tea with Lady Bridgerton or simply a quiet chat together before the couple went about their days. Benedict was smitten, to say the least, he knew that a courtship with her would be easy, but he never imagined exactly how easy it could be. The only downside to their public courtship was the new factor in which they had absolutely no time alone, always were they in company with a chaperone. Before their courtship, everyone practically looked the other way when Benedict and (Y/N) were to spend time together—they had only been friends, after all—but now that they were romantically inclined, it was but a rare moment for the two to be only in the presence of the other.

This, above all else, vexed Benedict.

hi, i hope i’m putting in this request correctly (sorry if i’m not). but could you do a benedict bridgerton one-shot/blurb with the prompt: “(She’s/he’s/they’re) just a friend.” “We used to be friends to be ‘just friends’ too.”

or really any friends to lovers kinda thing with him, i’m just a sucker for it. thank you!

not just - benedict bridgerton

summary: benedict realizes he does not just want to be friends with you. not anymore.

a/n: hi!! thank you so much for this request, im sorry it took approximately 100 years to come out but yeah. i tried to make this different from my other friends to lovers fic w him, and this is my first time writing daphne so hopefully she's accurate lol. i hope you enjoy, once again sorry for the wait!!! (also i changed the prompt a bit to fit more but it's still the same meaning)

wc: 2.3k

warning(s): an overuse of commas and em dashes, signature bridgerton boy obliviousness. also i wrote this in one go when the inspiration finally struck so i apologize if it's kinda messy

Benedict had let out, likely, his hundredth sigh of the night. It was certainly bothersome to those on the outskirts alongside him, but he could not have cared less.

Not when you were on the dance floor, dancing with a man that was not him.

Benedict did not quite know why the sight of you twirling with another annoyed him so. It must have been the man you were with. Lord Arthur Annesley was, frankly, a good match for any lady, especially as the well-regarded son of a viscount—just not you

He knew that the two of you would not be a good match—he was certain of it. Not when he had overheard the man talking of how he viewed women as nothing more than accessories, to birth children and then be shown off on a man’s shoulder. Benedict still remembered that night, Colin having to stop him in the middle of Mondrich’s gentleman’s club from clobbering the brute.

The worst part was that, with the wealth he partook in due to his ancestry and the good breeding afforded to him by his family name, Benedict could do nothing about Annesley if he decided to court you. Yes, your family had money of its own, but not nearly enough to allow you refusal should he propose. If he made the choice, you would be forced to accept, no matter your feelings or thoughts of him. His bigger fear was that you actually felt affection for the man.

Aw this was cute 🥰

Read All About it

Summary: After Benedict stumbles upon one of your old pieces in one of the gossip columns, his reaction was not what you expected.

Warnings: Just some fluff

"Darling, what's this?"

"What, dear?"

You poked your head up and saw what Benedict was holding, a stack of old newspaper clippings in his hand. For a split second you didn't register the septic clippings he was harnessing, but then it dawn o you. Your blood went cold, your eyes going wide and nearly popping out of yoru shell as Benedict was scanning the article on the top of the stack, his eyes going back forth.

Within seconds, he was grinning.

"Is this--" He stared, but you glided across the room to attempt to snatch the papers from his grasp. He was quicker, his grin was infectious and almost enduring as he moved away as you tried to get it again.
