“_____, it’s Namjoon, again.” Jimin’s frantic voice lights up your fireplace, and you stop in the middle of your essay, quill poised in the air. You really, really have to finish this last sentence before getting distracted, but the growing heat of the flames emanating from the fireplace draws your attention insistently.
“I swear, what is it this time?” You turn to face the brief outline of Jimin’s face in the flames, and even though it’s blurry due to each and every leap of the embers, concern is etched deeply into the Hufflepuff’s features.
“There’s no time, we’re in Potions now! Hurry, please!!!” The flames die down before you have a chance to protest, to ask if this is really a life or death issue. Instead you heave a sigh and gather your blue robe around your shoulders, already having an inkling of the disaster that lay ahead. Namjoon and Potions is not a good combination, you’d learned over the past 4 years. He may be the brightest wizard of his age, excelling in topics like Arithmancy and Ancient Runes, but throw him an intensive hands on subject like Potions and Kim Namjoon is equivalent to a troll in a china shop.
In fact, he’s so bad at Potions that he got held back a year, so he’s the only fifth year student taking Potions at fourth year level. As you start to near the dungeons where the Potions classrooms are, you hear a boisterous voice vehemently protest against a chorus of accusations, and you already know even before entering that Jeon Jeongguk has a part to play in this mess. Bracing yourself for the ordeal ahead, you fling open the heavy wooden doors and immediately duck for cover.

A cool droplet of rain falls onto your cheek. Then another and another. The rain picks up and you bring your hands up to cover your head. You spot a flower shop at the corner of the road.
A mustard yellow bike sits outside, resting against one of the windows to the flower shop. Its walls are painted a shade of blue. A young cherry tree stands in a brown terracotta pot next to a small table and two chairs. Pot plants sit on upside-down brown crates that you presume used to hold apples and oranges. A short step ladder is home to succulents and pink, yellow and white daisies, comfortably framed on each step. It’s charming.
Looking left and right, you jog across and take shelter under the beams of the shop. You wriggle your pale grey beret off your head and hold it out in front of you, patting the droplets of rain from it. The weatherman hadn’t predicted rain today.
You had been on your way home from the bookstore you owned, although you hadn’t walked home this way before. You had made a quick book delivery that afternoon, after you had given your delivery boy the day off. He had wanted to take his girlfriend out for her birthday. You smile to yourself at the sentiment, watching as the passers-by on the street rush to escape the unexpected rain, their arms up over their heads in an effort to momentarily shelter themselves from the downpour.
A spring shower. It had been such a long time since it had rained like that. You put your beret into your tote bag, joining the five books you had stashed inside and look down. You watch as the concrete path slowly becomes a darker shade of grey with every droplet of rain.
You turn around and bring your nose up against the window of the flower shop, cupping your hands in front of your face to better focus your view. You peer inside and spot the back of a young man who is moving around the store, a small bouquet of flowers in his hand. You scoot over, tiptoeing to get a better view, wondering if it’s still open.
You pull yourself from the window. You’d have to wait for the rain to pass. Your shoes weren’t meant for walking through puddles. You pause in front of the glass door, checking it’s open, reading the words on the small chalkboard hanging on the other side of the glass. The name of the flower shop is scribbled in white chalk, the handwriting elongated and messy. Sough Flower Shop.

Someone beats you to it. A young man wearing a cap is already crouched over on the side, one hand holding open the plastic bag as he carefully places the can of beans and small bag of rice back into the bag. He stands up. You hesitate, not wanting to crowd them.
Something red catches your eye. You spot a wayward apple that had rolled towards you and pick it up. You dust it off and wipe it on the side of your jeans.
He notices your presence and turns toward you, holding the bag open for you, not saying a word. You softly drop the apple in and he flashes you a dimpled smile.
It seems like everyone around you is either already in love, or in the process of falling, and while normally you couldn’t give a damn, finding out the co-worker you’ve had a teensy crush on is dating someone else at the office seems to sucker punch you right in the gut. It’s stupid, and you’re irritated at yourself, but you can’t seem to shake out of the funk you’ve fallen face first in.
Feeling lonely and heartsore, and mad for no reason, during drinks with your best friend you spot a man at the bar. Tequila confident, you make your way over to the stranger, and successfully one thing leads to another. Small feet slipped clumsily down the muddy bank, your shrieks and giggles accompanying each bump on your way down.

This is my submission for the monthly prompt challenge by @felixtok and @sunnytaes. This month’s prompt was “we could get married as a joke”, but I changed it a little, I hope that’s okay!

Being friends with Seokjin wasn’t easy. He always had the dumbest ideas, and even when you were aware that they were downright moronic, he had a way to get you to do anything he wanted.
When you were 11 years old, he managed to talk you into stealing some candy from a store - just a few lollipops, nothing much - because, in his words, “you’re too small to even be noticed”. He was very incorrect, as it turned out, because you did get caught. The owner was lenient though, and just scolded you and called your mom. She was completely appalled, but your dad insisted that every kid gets at least one indiscretion before being punished. You still got grounded.
