May the 4th be with you! Just a quick sign of life from me. I remembered good old times and our speculations about 'one TIE, one seat' and felt nostalgic. Reylo forever! (as for my story, I know I know, it's been a long time, but I will continue it, I promise)

Adam Driver #129 (Barclay Center, 6 Nov 2023)

Adam, leaning forward, shiny waves of hair brushing the collar of his soft black pocket tee, gazing at a moment of gameplay with consternation, eyes wide behind his glasses, slack-jawed surprise parting his lips and revealing a peek of teeth, his right hand reaching up to cover his mouth.

Autumn of 2023 heralded a host of promotional appearances to promote "Ferrari," and also the tentative beginnings of Adam's choice to be more visible to the public eye during his free time as a private citizen. In what I suspect might be a bit of a mid-life reassessment of priorities, he said during several of those interviews that he'd resolved to worry less about getting papped and spend more time doing things he loves to do. Things, it turns out, like attending sporting events with friends, or going to amusement parks with his family.

Which meant, after years of not seeing him out in public just for fun, we were pleasantly beyond shocked to see Mr Driver casually enjoying the courtside view of a Brooklyn Nets home game with none other than John David Washington, Hasan Minaj, and Eric André, and amiably open to being photographed and put up on the jumbotron.

And, as if an unscheduled public appearance unrelated to any of his work wasn't enough to cause certain members of the Driver Hive (it's me, hi!) to retire to their respective fainting couches, THEN he put on his glasses, the better to see the game with, leading to a sudden shortage of paper bags to breathe into as we scrambled to retain consciousness.

Of course, we'd seen Adam wearing glasses as himself before; they were tucked into the neckline of his shirt backstage at "The Piano Lesson" performance in Oct 2022, and then, glory of glories, actually ON his face at the "Spike Lee's Creative Sources" exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum in Oct 2023. I'm not saying we'll eventually get any less happily discombobulated by seeing him wearing them, but with each successive appearance he seems a little less self conscious about his spectacles, and I'm glad to see him settling into the idea. Life is too short to get headaches from squinting!

Mind you, Adam seems to be momentarily aghast at what those glasses are letting him see clearly, I can practically hear the sharp intake of breath and see that hand moving to cover his mouth, but that's part of the fun of sports, especially live sports.

Details I noticed while painting this one include the way the lenses on his glasses bend and concentrate the light, and how the shadow cast by the frame emphasizes the contours of his cheekbone. I do love the shine on his nose, especially the way it highlights that deep divot. The way the light falls also makes the scars under the left corner of his mouth a bit more visible, and it had clearly been several days since he'd last had a serious shave because that stubble is trying very hard to be a short beard.

There's also a soft furring of hair at his wrist and catching the light on the back of his hand, and I loved rendering the fade of his hairline at the temple, and the slightly shaggy tips of his curls brushing his cheek and just above his shoulders. The angle of his head lets us peek at the underside of his nose more than usual (is it weird to say I think he has very shapely nostrils?) and the reflections off of his own face and the bright shirts of the people around him limn the edges of his palm, fingertips, and the long line of his neck in soft light.

And I'm utterly charmed and bemused by his choice of yet another lovingly broken in black pocket tee paired with black skinny jeans. He must have the easiest laundry to sort.

Reference used was a photo taken at the Barclay Center by Noah K Murray on 6 Nov 2023 during a Brooklyn Nets game.

I’m only writing for Mills, Flip, Jacques, and Kylo for big oneshots. I will do HC’s for anyone I have ever written for. I am open to shorter ideas for Clyde and Henry, although full disclosure, they interest me a lot less these days, so any idea would have to really pique my interest. I have a strong preference for horror, adventure, and AU's.

This is my favorite time of the year! As far as I’m concerned, Halloween runs from September 1 - November 15, if not longer! I currently have a big fic to finish up that should be done soon, but nothing else slated fic wise. After that, it’s full steam ahead for anything and everything related to Autumn and Halloween. I generally put aside other non-fic writing projects during this time to focus on Halloween content.

For the week of Halloween, October 25 - October 31, I intend to post a big daily oneshot. My stories generally range in size from 5k to 25k, and some are even more! Look for a mix of horror, humor, romance, and adventure! Everything will contain adult themes and mature content. There may be other writing throughout this time too. The quantity of stories I post depends on the length of them. In the past, I have posted a lot of shorter things, but I’ve gotten more into writing longer stories now. The last few years, I have averaged over 100k words for Halloween and Autumn content!

Please send me requests, ideas, thoughts, HCs, anything you like! I’ll pick my favorites or, very likely, a combination of a few different ideas, and I’ll write a oneshot that includes everything I can fit in. Feel free to send in multiple ideas or requests! The more ideas to choose from, the better! All AU concepts, time periods, etc are welcome. Anything is fair game. This is generally the only time of year I open requests anymore, so get them in if you ever want to. Requests will be open from now until Halloween. However, because I tend to write longer stories, the sooner an idea comes it, the more likely I am to use it.

Below the cut are some of my favorite prompt lists, but do not feel bound by them. If you do include a prompt in your request, copy and paste the prompt itself because I hate chasing them down on lists.

Adam Driver #120 (EE BAFTAs, 2 Feb 2020)

Adam, dapper in his signature black tux and a satin bow tie, silver glinting in wind teased collar length curls, the intensity of his smile rumpling his dimples and crinkling the crow's feet beneath his sparkling eyes, mouth and chin wreathed in the slightly wild soft curly brush of his beard, lips parted to reveal a peek of tongue behind his slightly crooked teeth.

Adam would start filming "The Last Duel" just a couple of weeks after this event, which means he's in his Jacques Le Gris hours; his face has filled out a bit after being so very lean for his role as Henry in "Annette" and also as the Burberry Scentaur, the hardest working buttons in show-business are back to earning their keep, as evidenced by the subtle strain revealed in those rumples in the fabric of his shirt, and he's grown his hair out from the neat ear length bob he'd sported in fall 2019, as well as sprouting a beard. I hadn't really appreciated before just how long he'd grown his goatee out until I was rendering all of those unruly hairs along his neck, and I was further delighted to spot the wild eyebrow hair in his right brow that somehow escaped the careful attentions of both his hair stylist and groomer.

Caught mid-chuckle, the depth of his mirth in this moment means his smile has rumpled the muscles along the side of his face right up to his temples; when they talk about a smile reaching someone's eyes, this is what they're talking about. Adam is usually fairly subdued on red carpets, but he seemed to be in a fine humor that night, no doubt aided by the presence of his wife, Joanne, who was tucked into his left side when this was taken.

About 32.5 hrs of painting time. Lots of folks avoid references with open mouths because teeth are difficult to get right, but I like the challenge. It was fun to get to paint that peek of his tongue too. I'm also absurdly pleased with how the satin sheen on his tie came out.

I really have no business thinking about a Gladiator sort of AU but these edits by @kyloremus are driving me insane! If anyone has any fun ideas for something that could potentially work for Halloween, I might add him to my lineup…

I’m already working on a pirate story that’s going to be 50k plus because of her pirate edits 🤣 So, if anyone has any fun pirate thoughts, feel free to send those in too and I may add them into what I’m already doing!

Send any ideas my way and I’ll see if anything sticks!

I’ll also officially be opening up Halloween ideas on September 1st. For me, Halloween runs from September 1st through December 1st 😈 I have no problem with people thinking ahead and sending in ideas whenever!
