if you’re not standing barefoot in the heart of a foreboding forest and chanting to the old gods as the moonlight tangles its fingers in your messy hair and caresses your dirt-streaked cheeks what even is the point

“For today’s lecture we will discuss the Six Hells and Heavens. We will then go over their corresponding Element, Deity and Major Arcanum. Please bring out your Divining Decks and turn your tomes to the diagram: Essences & Permutations of the Six Elements.”

They came from far and wide, for her telling, her sight, her knowing. She spoke of death and doom and destiny and all that which troubled the heart of mortal man, weaving the glimpses of true sight into the stories at the core of a man. Her herald had a sweet voice and could make her stories into music and song, more beautiful than even Serif herself had concieved.

Inspired by this cute desert unicorn

An image of Melkor as the Mightiest Vala / Lord of Darkness and Giver of Freedom according to Mairon’s vision as in the Akallabêth.

His appearance is based on my friend Nasca’s personal head canon - she insists that Melkor should have dark skin and white hair - it’s a rather “unconventional” image of him I know but I do love the idea very much ^ ^.  I am really trying to represent the *divine nature* of him rather than the stereotypical evil-looking Morgoth in the tales of the Silmarillion. Me and nasca often think that his actions might have resulted from a higher cause that what the elves who created the traditional/standard discourse of the history have recognized - I do believe it’s possible that lower beings such as elves or men never fully understand anything about the Vala lol. (this is just my academical skepticism ‘pro consuetudine’ - I am actually trained as a philologist/classicist yes)

^added a bit explanation. Also adjusted the tone of the picture a little bit..
