“Wait, how many people quit last night? Yikes, okay. Sure, we can switch off and I’ll send emails to our new candidates tonight!”
“We finished the plans for the site weeks ago. What is the hold up now.”
Jumin lifted his head from his cuff links, his phone nearly slipping from his ear and shoulder. You swooped in and adjusted both his phone and his Windsor knot. As soon as you finished, he knelt, moving your foot onto his lap to fix the straps of your shoe. “That’s fine. What time is the meeting, and where do I need to meet you.”
You blushed and nearly dropped your own phone as Jumin kissed your ankle and placed your other foot onto his lap. “Hm, no, you’d need to go to loss prevention for that. They manage the mental health and wellness group. Oh, once you do, could you get back to me with how many attendees there’ll be?”
Jumin snuck another kiss onto your ankle before he stood. He moved with a quickness, grabbing your cardigan and draping it around your shoulders. “Sure. I’ll be there in ten minutes, that should give them enough time to prepare… no? Have they been working at all?”
You spun on your toes, closing a button of Jumin’s coat. “Catering for which event? The one for this week, or next week? Or three weeks from now?”
“Fine. I’ll grant them three extra minutes. I’ll see you there.”
“No way, you ordered the little finger sandwiches?!”
“Darling.”
“NYEH.”
You spun around, flailing arms nearly smacking your husband. He knew your movements well, his hands catching yours before any damage could be inflicted. “Would you like to ride with me today, or do you prefer to…”
“Drive?” You smiled.
“… You’re right. You should ride with me.”
“I’m driving!” You laughed, grabbing Jumin’s hands. “I’ll see you tonight? Nineteen-hundred hours, around there?”
“That is so long from now.” Jumin purposely dropped his voice, hands journeying down the soft folds of your waist and past your hips.
“I know…” you pressed your chest against his, fingers tangled in his thick black hair.
Jumin lips, soft and warm, pressed against yours. Even with you already pressed against him, he pulled you closer still, your bodies fitting together as they were designed to.
You opened your mouth to deepen the kiss — he moved much faster than you, going so far as to dip you in the heat of the moment.
A giggle escaped your throat. You lifted a hand, brushing Jumin’s bangs from his eyes. “We’re going to be late.”
“You’re right.” Lips still kissing yours, Jumin guided you to the door. His hands stayed busy fixing your cardigan while you distractedly buttoned his suit jacket.
“Ah, my phone!”
“Here you go.” Jumin placed your phone in your hand, placing one last kiss to your cheek. “By the way. You forgot to hang up on your colleague.”
“… OH, NO!”
“That’s right. That means she heard everything. Every kiss, every groan…”
“I’m going to kill you!!”
“… Now a threat.”
