Okay but if Harringrove isn’t meant to be canon give me a heterosexual explanation for:

- The way Billy moves an entire crowd of people to get to Steve the first time he sees him at the Halloween party (basically jumped over a couch, unprompted, wasn’t even like he was following Tommy)

- The way both boys appear to stare at each other’s lips while that hard core man-to-man defense is happening at practice

- The way Steve looks at Billy all doe-eyed when he offers him a hand at basketball practice like he’s admiring a work of art (or Billy’s abs, same thing)

- The way Billy looks at Steve in the showers. Not only looks at him but /stares/. Has to touch his back.

- The way Steve looks at Billy when he arrives at the Byers house or basically anytime at all. His eyes too soft.

- How Billy does the tongue thing in Steve’s direction ALL THE TIME but doesn’t do it even when he’s flirting info out of Mrs. Wheeler or shown doing it any other time

- How after that shower scene Steve panics and tries to win Nancy back with flowers even though he doesn’t know what he’s sorry for/appears unsure if that’s what he wants to be doing
