Her face remained a familiar unphased look. Why worry about the what if’s? Glancing at the other, her head cocked to the side, whatever the other was trying to be, it wasn’t intimidating. However, Gemma was going to play it smart. She wasn’t going to pull out her pistol unless she had to. If her playing nice got her where she needed to be. Then so be it. She could play nice, on occasion. As the other spoke, her eyebrow raised. It wasn’t that she was surprised. It was more that she didn’t think the other would be so bold to tell her what she was looking for.
“Huh, funny. The look you are giving me says you are prepared for a fight. Not that I could blame you. I do like to fight.” Gemma chuckled, “But really, I am not here for you. Or to fight you. I am here for someone else, so if you could get out of my way. That would be great.”
THE LOOK HE’S GIVING. She nearly humors him. There are only very few people who get to see him beyond the red tinted lenses of his ruby-quartz visor, and this girl definitely wasn’t one of them. He placed his hands on his hips. Scott wasn’t thinking about letting her through in the slightest bit.
“You are trespassing private property.” Not to mention, she was not bringing a gun inside the Xavier Institute. “If you are looking for someone or something supposedly at this institute, I suggest you arrange a scheduled appointment first, and return unarmed.”
“Trust us to have your back.” Easier said than done; especially when you could never be sure where the next betrayal or attack was going to come from ( too many people have let them all down over the years ). “You’re not driving me nuts, Scott. I’m just… worried.”
TRUST. Big word. Scott knew that from the weight in his brother’s words, he was aware of how big it was. Even as brothers, the two have been at odds before. They had their moments in the past where trust between them wasn’t as much as Scott assumed it to be at this current point in time.
Scott inched closer towards his brother and put a hand on Alex’s shoulder. “I know... — I’m sorry.”

HOW LONG HAD SCOTT BEEN fumbling with the newspaper pages for her to say something about it? He probably doesn’t want to know the answer. Sitting at the kitchen counter, he had spent some reasonable amount of time trying to get the pages apart from each other so he could turn over the one he’d finished reading. But they seemed to stick together pretty well, and it was getting a little too much on his nerves — Scott sighed...
“—Ah?” He glanced up. He thought she’d left some time ago, because Scott hadn’t been the most talkative person to be around. “It’s nothing. The pages are stuck together.”

BOLD STATEMENT. Scott kept calm. The gun resting on her hip didn’t scare him much. He’s faced worse — far worse. She may be a good fighter like she claims to be, but what chance would she stand against a Sentinel. Between a girl with a gun and a giant mutant-hunting killer robot, Scott didn’t need to think twice about which fight he’d rather be picking...
“I’m not here to fight your or anyone else for that matter. I’d rather assume you are the one looking for a fight,” he stated with a nod towards her weapon.

MAGNETO HAS IDEAS FOR THE FUTURE, and so does Charles Xavier. Only one of them had been there for Scott like a father figure during the years when he needed such guidance the most — and it hadn’t been Erik. Some may want to argue that maybe Scott is blind in how he follows Xavier. For Scott, there was more to it than that. While there were plenty of things he agreed on with Charles, there were also things he would disagree on. Maybe that’s where Magneto came in play...

“YOU ARE NOW — but what if things take a turn? Who’s to say the sentiment will remain the same when things shift towards our disadvantage? That’s what keeps me awake.”
“Wow, okay — you’re really overthinking this. The team are loyal; even if things shift to our disadvantage, we’re still in your corner. It’d take a heck of a lot to get us out, too.”
“MAYBE.” Scott lowered his head a little and reached up to rub some tension from his forehead. He exhaled a sigh. “I’m sorry, Alex. I can tell I’m driving you nuts, again.”
I hate the weird changes in reblogging things and I can’t be bothered figuring out how to get the old way to do things back. So some of my reblogs will look weird or wonky, and I don’t care. But I will make sure that posts get shortened/trimmed as much as possible, so that I don’t clog up the dash.
SCOTT HAD NOT YET CAST his gaze towards Emma, and yet he could feel that she was looking at him, perhaps trying to find a reaction from him in response to what she wished to tell him. He turned his head to look at her at last. The tender look in his eyes remained hidden behind his ruby-quartz shades.
Holding out a hand towards her, Scott invited Emma to come closer. He yearned to have her close, and to hold her in this moment. “I sure hope so… — What would I do without you?”
for someone like emma frost it’s all about body language, telepath or not, she is a master in keeping things for herself, especially secrets. even though at this point it’s not a secret the way she looks at him, or the devotion she feels for him. she didn’t even need to use her telepathy to know he was looking at her, she could just feel the tenderness he pushed in her direction.
the blonde looked at him and then at his hand, she took it, and some steps in his direction too, now her arms around his neck, crystal hues set on him. ▬ oh, you’d be lost that’s for sure. - she teased.
“LOST? I DON’T LIKE THE sound of that,” Scott said with a hint of jest. A small smile curled at the corner of his mouth. He only rarely shows how he feels in his facial expressions, but for Emma he could make a few exceptions. Especially once she took his invite and held his hand as she brought herself closer towards him until Scott was within her reach. He allowed her to wrap her arms around him and in return, he would place his hands on her waist.
“Sounds terrifying, almost.”
