What I liked about Koe no Katachi was the way it portrayed human change . Change is not something easy , you don’t become the person you aspire to be just because someone yelled something inspirational at you . It takes time , and courage and support from your dearest people . It’s usually a slow process , that involves failure . It involves thinking that “ tomorrow i ‘ ll try again” , or that “ this is not worth it “ .

I believe the movie did a good job , showing that the characters did not become different people overnight , but they are still trying , struggling with themselves . Because that’s what humans do .

Thoughts about how Ishida was portrayed in the movie version

I just watched the movie adaptation of Koe No Katachi. While I think overall the movie did a pretty good job adapting the original work, there were some small things that the manga did better.

The main thing I am going to focus in is Ishida during this post, since I think in the manga Ishida`s self loathing and hating was presented more strongly. You could really get the feeling, especially in the beginning that he really hates himself and wants to be punished of what he did to Shoko in the past. Like when he is  at the school meeting Shoko firs time in years, these are his inner thoughts:

His self loathing and self isolation has lead him to even question if he is allowed to have any friends at all. He hesitates at first a lot when he is hanging around with Nagatsuka, and spends a week thinking about what friendship really is.

When Shoko comes to thank him when he went looking for her  sister(and took care of her when she ran away from home), Ishida feels a moment of happiness, which is immediately shot down by his self loathing:

Like this contemplation is present almost all the time in Ishida`s inner monologue. The movie showcased some of it, but I think the manga truly shows how deep it runs with Ishida`s character.

There are other small points as well, but in this post I wanted to focus on this aspect

Boruto Ep.15 / Naruto & Sasuke

Naruto: Sasuke!

Sasuke: You’re late.

Naruto: You know… I may be a clone, but it took me a while to get here. I don’t even know the way home now, damn it. Where are we anyway?!

Sasuke: Don’t ask me. So, where’s the scroll?

Sasuke: It’s hard to believe that Danzo got this close to Kaguya’s Hidden Jutsu…

Naruto: Is that what it is? I didn’t get it at all.

Sasuke: But with this, I may be able to get closer to the Time-Space where Kaguya existed.

Naruto: Hey, you’re leaving already? What’s wrong with coming back to the village for a while?

Sasuke: Naruto… Give Sakura a message for me. Tell her, I’m sorry for everything.

Naruto: I’m the one who’s sorry.
