Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff for Anti-Hero (feat. Bleachers)
ANTI-HERO (2022) dir. Taylor Swift
mastermind is so quintessentially taylor. the acting cool all "ooooh im a mastermind i planned it all from the beginning im soooo machiavellian" and then the reveal that he knew the entire time. its so cute i cant help it.
listening to Midnights (2022) be like
i think the thing i love most about midnights is how messy it is. the way each song is short, reminding me of waking up from a dream and only being able to recall half of it. the way the songs don’t have polished lyrics (similar to middle of the night thoughts), but still feel truthful. the way the album doesn’t tell a story, but goes through moments of life that you recall when it’s 2:00 am and you’re going “what is wrong with me why did i do that/think that five years ago.” the way there is this other voice in a lot of the songs, representing those intrusive thought that take over your mind while you try to fight them off. i know midnights is going to get a lot of hate, but i think it’s a great release after the folklore and evermore era because it is honest like those albums— just in a different way. idk maybe i’m the problem hi it’s me
me after listening to midnights for the first time:
✧ MIDNIGHTS Taylor Swift’s New Album ˎˊ˗
Surprise! I think of Midnights as a complete concept album, with those 13 songs forming a full picture of the intensities of that mystifying, mad hour. However! There were other songs we wrote on our journey to find that magic 13. I’m calling them 3am tracks. Lately I’ve been loving the feeling of sharing more of our creative process with you, like we do with From The Vault tracks. So it’s 3am and I’m giving them to you now. 🌌
