thank you for rebloggin that comrade post! I don't understand how people can throw it around so easily while also calling celebes insensitive and self obsessed at the same time

honestly, it’s embarrassing how long it took me to be educated on that subject and to understand that it’s not a joke to be thrown around so ofc i think it’s important to make sure everyone else knows too. i think it’s really easy as westerners to not realise the full impact that communist regimes have had because we, and our families, haven’t lived it/lived the repercussions of it. and it’s also really easy to turn to idealistic communist ideologies when we (rightfully) critique capitalism because again we see the theory and not the horrid ways it’s been applied that has resulted in immense suffering for so many. i’m really not an expert and again as a westerner, it’s not really my place to voice an opinion but i’ll def boost posts by people who rightfully are mad about words being thrown around carelessly.
